The various artwork throughout was lovely & personal to the cottage. Although we don't holiday in Cornwall to watch TV or go on the internet, we think in this day and age a good sized TV in a living area & perhaps at least one other for children, and Wifi is almost expected! Also the recycling of the rubbish instructions & bins could be better. The parking was a bit of a challenge. Someone had parked a dirty rusty old van directly outside the front door. We had to park further down the main road. Neighbours to the cottage didn't park well either (if they'd have moved up more we would've been able to park nearer). This is obviously not the cottage owners fault and we really liked the cottage in general. Also John the owner dealt with us very pleasantly.

The property

A mile from Mousehole, arguably Cornwall's prettiest village, is Clovelly Cottage.

Surrounded by farmland and snuggled between its neighbours, this traditional stone cottage was built in 1850.

Now a comfy home, the cottage is full of original art and craft work.

In the sitting room a stone inglenook fireplace houses a wood burning stove, whilst the quirky kitchen adjoins a bright garden room which overlooks the lawn.

From the sitting room, steep, half-spiral stairs lead to three bedrooms – a king size double, and a standard double, both with long views out to sea, and a single room.

They share the family bathroom.

From the safely enclosed, lawned garden at the back of the cottage it's possible to glimpse the sea beyond.

Clovelly Cottage is about 3/4 mile from the Coast Path - perfect those who love to walk.

Neighbouring Mousehole (pronounced 'Mouzzle' locally) has a selection of shops and good places to eat around its historic harbour.

Further afield, it’s worth spending a day exploring Penzance and spectacular St Michaels Mount, or take in a show at the internationally renowned Minack Theatre, a superb open air venue perched high on the cliffs.
