    “Love, love, love this cottage!”

Love, love, love this cottage! Really appreciated the love and creativity that had gone into putting this cottage together; the colours just made me happy, the art was personal and clearly made with love and inspiration, and I would be quite content to live out my days there! In fact I shed tears when we had to leave the cottage! I would happily return and have already been encouraging friends and family to holiday there. ...

We also loved the light conservatory and securely enclosed garden. The view over Paul to Mounts Bay, with St Michaels Mount fully visible, was a joy to observe from the two (double) back bedrooms at sun up and sun down (lights sparkling in the bay at night), between which you are hardly ever at the cottage as there is so much to see and do locally. The South West coastal path is all around. Virtually on your doorstep there are the major beautiful fishing villages such as Mousehole, St Ives and Sennen Cove, plus smaller coves such as Penberth and Porthgwarra down lanes off the main coastal road round Penwith, not to mention several coves and fishing villages on the Lizard peninsula which are reasonably close; as are the creeks around the Helford Estuary. Ruins of mine buildings and ancient stones pepper the roadsides beckoning to be explored, and many more can be visited to the West around Camborne. A local village St Just is small but a little gem: around the square, a grocer, butcher, bakeries, cafes, art galleries and boutique shops. And a specialist Cornish Cheese shop in Newlyn, yum. Altogether a very enjoyable holiday full of joy and interest in every way.

The property

A mile from Mousehole, arguably Cornwall's prettiest village, is Clovelly Cottage.

Surrounded by farmland and snuggled between its neighbours, this traditional stone cottage was built in 1850.

Now a comfy home, the cottage is full of original art and craft work.

In the sitting room a stone inglenook fireplace houses a wood burning stove, whilst the quirky kitchen adjoins a bright garden room which overlooks the lawn.

From the sitting room, steep, half-spiral stairs lead to three bedrooms – a king size double, and a standard double, both with long views out to sea, and a single room.

They share the family bathroom.

From the safely enclosed, lawned garden at the back of the cottage it's possible to glimpse the sea beyond.

Clovelly Cottage is about 3/4 mile from the Coast Path - perfect those who love to walk.

Neighbouring Mousehole (pronounced 'Mouzzle' locally) has a selection of shops and good places to eat around its historic harbour.

Further afield, it’s worth spending a day exploring Penzance and spectacular St Michaels Mount, or take in a show at the internationally renowned Minack Theatre, a superb open air venue perched high on the cliffs.
