"This was a lovely cottage and we will definitely be re booking, close to everything we wanted to do."
We didn't use the upstairs at all. Lots of space downstairs.
Just a few little things.
Toilet seat down stairs was loose.
The rubbish and re cycling sheet in red folder out of date by 3 years, so we didn't know where the red bin had to go or what day it was collected. Strange because when we arrived there was no red bin after 2 days a red bin appeared in the drive way.
So unfortunately there was 3 black bags of rubbish.
Having no dishwasher bothered me but with all that space in the kitchen i'm surprised there wasn't one.
garden had a lovely fig tree, shame they were not ripe, the next holiday makers will enjoy them.
Looking at dates already to re book.

"Extremely disappointing."
Too many problems to report whilst there. Very poorly equipped kitchen. Pans & crockery dirty, some rusty. Insufficient equipment for six people, only four teaspoons & two odd glasses for beer. No egg cups, or sharp enough knives, broken cheese grater. Both toilet seats loose. Shortage of bedside lights. Broken wardrobe doors. Five comfortable seats for six people, three of which shredded by dogs prior to our stay. Window pole for Velux broken. Bathroom door doesn’t shut or lock. Stairgate at top step of stairs fitted at an angle, creating a trip hazard. Garden overgrown. House needs dishwasher…. Whole finish to house extremely poor.

"I think location wise the cottage is incredible."
However I think just needs some more thought on how to make it feel a bit more homely.
We had issues with the electrics and the owner organised for the neighbour to pop over to fix which is great but I think just a bit of modernisation would go down well.
I understand it just a holiday let for the owner as it was his mums house but for the location in St Agnes it could be so much nicer.
I wouldn’t look to stay here again but all in all a good base to explore North Cornwall for the week.

"Lovely house in a great location."
Loads of space, we were a family of 5 (4 adults and 1 teenager). Small garden, which is enclosed for dogs or small children, so safe for them to be outside. It is also gravel rather than grass, so no muddy paws to wipe off either. It would benefit from a dish washer in a property that size, we seemed to constantly be washing pots. There is plenty of room for one, the kitchen is huge. A double sink in the kitchen with a decent drainer woukd be good to avoid lots of water over the work surface. The only things provided were 2 J cloths, 1 scourer, 1 tea towel, 2 loo rolls (one in each bathroom) and 1 hand-wash in the kitchen. You could do with at least 2 or 3 tea towels, and maybe a couple more loo rolls and a handsoap in each bathroom. The downstairs shower was great, good water pressure and temperature. The upstairs shower is electric and is not very good, low pressure and cool temperature. Just couldn't get it to a decent warm temperature even on full power and heat.
Beds were comfy, but they are doubles and not king size. The rooms could easily take super king beds, which would make for a great nights sleep after a long journey. The pillows were rubbish, very flat so take your own if you like a supportive pillow.
One last thing, the TV aerial in the upstairs ensuite room needs fixing just under the skylight window like in the twin room next door. We had to fashion something to balance it on top of the TV to get a signal (we used a rack drawer from the wardrobe turned on its side). Also need a pole hook to open the windows in the roof, as the one provided is broken. It works to push them closed though.
St Agnes is a lovely, quirky little village. Only a short walk down the hill from the house. There is a cut through between the houses just before the driveway that is quicker. Can recommend the Peterville Inn and the Chinese takeaway for food (best chow mein my son has ever had apparently).
Lovely house, would definitely stay again. Thank you

"Excellent all round."
we had one little issue with a double bed. told the owner who had rung to see if all was OK - he had a replacement bed ordered and delivered the following day and the neighbour came in and sorted it and removed the other bed whilst we were on the beach - couldn't ask for more.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Alice Cottage and highly recommend it.
we will be going back.

"Surprised with some of the negative comments regarding this cottage."
We were very pleased with our stay. It had everything we needed, and it's location was ideal. Yes, you do have to reverse out of the parking a fair way but not a great issue. Would happily stay here again.

"I felt the appliances in the kitchen i."
E the kettle and toaster could do with an upgrade. A two slice toaster for 6 adults was not really adequate and the filter out of the kettle kept falling out and took an age to boil. Also a dishwasher would be a nice addition there was certainly room for one.
Apart from these few niggles the cottage was clean and comfortable and in a good location.
Although care needs to be taken when walking down the steps to reach the road that leads to the centre of St Agnes especially with a pram or young children.

"We have just enjoyed our holiday in the lovely Alice cottage and loved it."
If I had to be critical it would be that the lack of dishwasher was a little inconvenient, and whilst there is a washing machine, there is no dryer, only a pop up rack to dry clothes on. The only other issue is that we couldn’t get the Jacuzzi bath to work but the power shower was lovely. That could have been user error I don’t know. Having said that, it was lovely and warm ,and had a real home from home feel. Would recommend.

"Property could be brilliant but lacks in some key areas."
All of the cupboards around the property are poorly fitted and finished. We went with our baby girl and unfortunately the bath was broken and leaked all over the floor. There was black mould next to the bath where you could tell this was a longstanding issue. The highchair was dirty on arrival. The property could really do with a dishwasher, last thing you want to do is a lot of washing up. Oven seal was faulty and there were scorch marks on the nearby kitchen cupboards. The blind in the twin room is as thin as paper and provides no darkness which wasn't great for baby when trying to get to sleep. We had to buy a travel blind to rectify the situation. Overall considering the price we paid, over £2k, we felt like we got very poor value for money.

"The property was very clean and as described."
Nice big kitchen. Maybe another small sofa would be good as the chairs supplied were quite uncomfortable. Also the downstairs shower looked fantastic but the temperature of the water was scalding hot and couldn’t turn the temperature down any further so ended up using the upstairs shower. Local beach (dog friendly), village shops and pub/restaurant were all within walking distance from the property and Perranporth beach is only a 10 minute drive which is also dog friendly. We had fantastic weather and would definitely come again.

once we knew we kept him on a long line or with us at all times.
We were surprised for such a huge kitchen and sleeping 6 that there was no dishwasher and such a small sink. More tea towels are needed or warning to bring them.

Needed to rewash everything and anti bac the house. Bathroom door is plastic and didn’t shut properly. Windows difficult to open and close. Bathroom mouldy. Weeds all in front garden and back. Furniture old and tacky, rips in the carpet. Paid over £1000 for this property which is a joke. Been trying to resolve issues with customer services as I would like a partial refund but I’m not getting anywhere. Feel absolutely ripped off.

However, even though the kitchen was huge, it lacked a dishwasher. This is a house that can sleep 6 people and the kitchen sink was tiny, so I think this is a necessity

"On the arrival day, the email from Sykes said we could enter the property at 3pm."
On arrival at 3.50pm, the cleaner was still there and advised us that the arrival time was not until 6pm. We found it difficult parking at the cottage. You could drive into the drive but to get out you had to reverse all the way back along the narrow drive and road (approx 100 yards) as there was no where to turn your car around as the neighbours had blocked their drives to prevent this and the yard in front of the cottage was to small to turn your car around. This should have been included in the descripton of the property. There was a washing machine to wash your clothes but no where to dry them ie tumble dryer, clothes line or pegs. The mattress in the downstairs bedroom was too small for the bed. It was a double mattress on a kingsize bed. In the kitchen there was a sink but no draining board for when washing your pots. The second bed in the twin room was not made up, just a sheet folded and laid on the bed to make it look like it had been made. Sykes were advised prior to arrival that all the beds were going to be slepted in. It is not somewhere that we would want to go back to. It wasn't a holiday home where you could enjoy your stay. We did telephone Sykes helpline on the first day of our holiday to complain about not being able to get in to the property at the correct time. An email was received to say that someone would get back us once it had been investigated but that was 11 days ago and we haven't had a response.

A nice touch with the scones thank you. There is plenty of room to give everyone their own space.
The only issues I found and they are NOT a complaint is that the heating is insufficient for such an open plan set up, . if you have a large SUV car you are going to have good few back and forwards to turn round to get out of the property its on a step incline/drop with the flat parking very restricted for large vehicles to maneuver . Would I return YES its very good value for the money.
PS outside bins would be handy
