  • "What a lovely farmhouse to stay in, very big, perfect location to everywhere, great hot tub, owners are very friendly."

The only thing I would say is that it could have been a little cleaner throughout the house, other than that it was lovely.

  • "This is a lovely spacious farmhouse in a very peaceful location."

The super king beds were amazing in both master suites, and the two other double rooms were spacious enough, and the fifth room is ideal for two children. The sofa in the lounge was very comfortable and the two reclining seats an added bonus. The location is great for visiting the local attractions. The hot tub is very welcoming after a busy day out. We did feel that the kitchen needs updating but it is very well equipped. We will definitely recommend to family and friends

  • "There is quite a walk on uneven gravel/stones from car park to the farmhouse which makes it a little difficult when carrying all the luggage, through gates and steps etc."

Luckily it was not raining. The bbq was very dirty and we spent an hour cleaning it before we were able to use it. It was a lovely, quiet place to stay and very enjoyable and enclosed garden for the dog. Family made good use of excellent hot tub. The welcome pack and complimentary toiletries were a nice touch, thank you. Unfortunately, trees had grown up obscuring the promised views in your write up from the conservatory.

A lovely welcome basket greeted us on arrival. It was was a much needed holiday in a beautifull cornish setting. Very very comfortable bedrooms Sitting room and the kitchen stocked with everything needed for the cooks of the family. The hot tub is excellent and very well maintained. Coastal areas like Perranporth and st Agnes are a short drive away and super for different abilities of walking. Definately want to go back.

  • "Throughout the duration of my stay, the heating was not working in the house, the hot tub was not cleaned at all so it was really dirty at one point."

The pool table in the games room was uneven and the hosts did not make the stay feel a bit more comforting. To top it all off, the host had the audacity to charge me and my group near 1500 pounds in damages and other charges etc which was not the case as far as i was standing. I felt like the host was very unfair on me and my group and disliked us from the very beginning. Not recommended to go there for anyone looking to stay.

Thank you for your review. As holiday home owners, we invest such a lot of time and energy in providing an exceptional service and facilities for our guests and we are saddened to read these comments, which we believe are not reflective of the situation. During your stay the property was subjected to multiple breaches of the customer booking terms, resulting in extensive damage to our property and its contents. As the damage had been caused directly by you and your group, you were charged for the repairs, all of which were itemised and invoiced and which totalled much less than you have quoted. We are relieved that this was thankfully an isolated incident that we were able to rectify in time for the arrival of our next guests. We positively encourage guests to contact us during their stay if there are any small issues needing our attention; the heating issue was fixed on the day we were notified, the pool table has adjustable legs which can be used to level it and the hot tub was checked daily in line with our stringent cleaning regime. We’re very proud of all the wonderful reviews we have received from customers and we’re sorry you didn’t feel the same during your stay. Property Owner

  • "The house was beautiful and perfect for our weekend away."

We were a group of 7 girlies so plenty of space for us all. The beds we super comfy and the house was set up for all your needs. The house was clean and the owners were on hand for anything if you needed them and were really lovely and helpful. It was lovely to have the hot tub, the only thing i would say is that it would be good to have somewhere to put your towels/robes outside to keep them dry as the weather was pretty bad all weekend but other than that it was fab and we would definitely go back.

  • "We had the most wonderful time, the house is amazing and the hot tub is just the icing on the cake."

It rained a lot for us unfortunately but we made the most of the wonderful kitchen and staid in, cooked, ate and enjoyed! The small bedroom was a bit cold as there isn't a radiator in there, we couldn't get the radiator in on of the double bedrooms to work and a blue tooth speaker in the kitchen and dining room would be great, we couldn't get the cd player to work. These are tiny things and did not spoil our time at all.

  • "There is an 8pm curfew on out door noise!"

That should definitely be included on your info. Also the signage for the farmhouse could be better. Fab place for big groups otherwise. We enjoyed the hot tub every evening including in the rain.

  • "Met with all our expectations and more."

Took my family for my 60th birthday. Nice enclosed garden for my two grandchildren. Plenty of room inside and so well equipped including the small details to make the holiday special, hot tub a bonus, games room so well used. Ollie and Sari were lovely owners. Had some minor necessary work on the cottage during our stay and the following day Sari popped round with a bottle of wine for the inconvenience, totally unexpected but gratefully received. Words cannot describe the peaceful location of Five Elements and central for everywhere.

Kitchen bin cover mechanism is opened by hand causing germs to spread & as a last resort removed the cover & kept the bin opened, suggest to replace with a pedal Road leading to property is bad for city cars, not asphalt or even Cups & bowls in kitchen are not well washed & needed to be washed before our use Dishwasher falling out & needed fixing to the sides Hooks in bedrooms on the doors are broken Wicker chairs pin nails pluck clothes Broadband for uploading is very very poor Fridge is too small and not fit for a 5-bedroom house, location of the microwave above the fridge is bad as the heat from it coming down on the fridge

Thank you for your feedback. This is very important to us. The bin mechanism was working on changeover, had this been reported during the stay, it would have been fixed straight away. We are unable to change the surface of the road leading to the cottage as this is a private road. We are in discussions with the neighbours regarding this. The dishwasher was newly installed before this stay. We have never received any feedback regarding the cleanliness of cutlery and crockery. The broadband has not been an issue before however the property is in rural Cornwall and fibre optic is now available. We did accomodate your booking which was a wedding party and made sure that all the beds were configured correctly for you. Once again, thank you for your comments. Property Owner

The house has everything you need for a great holiday. The owners are very nice and only seen twice in the week to ensure the Hot Tub is checked. The games room is a nice addition as this kept the entertained in the evenings. The only crtisism I have for this property is something that has been mentioned in most other reviews. The Sofa in the lounge is not a sofa, this is in fact a bench and is very uncomfortable and the cushions are thin and not fixed to the bench so slide off/down. And also very cosy for 8 people. In summary you will not be disappointed with the house and location.

The farm house was lovely and met the high standards suggested by the website descriptions. It’s location is perfect for exploring the area. Owners were extremely friendly and approachable. Could not fault anything and we’ll have no hesitation in recommending Sykes or Five Elements to friends and family in the future. In fact we’ve already booked another Sykes cottage with family for next year!

Not relax in evenings on it. No child stair gate Garden gate was just a latch had no security of locking gate Recommend a blind in dining room as sun blinds you when sitting down for meal. The gardener jus walked through without notice when we had already said we had 2 large dogs and children. House was clean Great for get togethers Hot tub was great. Kitchen well equipped. • "The property is very nice and reasonably well maintained."

One of the wardrobes had moths in it so we had to buy some spray. Only one toilet roll was provided for each of the bathrooms so we had to buy more. Also we had to buy extra washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets as what was provided was insufficient for us for a week. As others have mentioned, the giant sofa is not very comfortable but was ok. The separating and recycling of everything is encouraged but it would be helpful to have bins for this in the kitchen. We had to fill bags with it and take out to the bins (which were quite full) and only one bin liner provided! Having said all that, we had a fantastic week. The hot tub was great, beds comfy, the house roomy and well equipped and a nice little garden. Very quiet at night, just the owls and bats. If you want a secluded spot and you pack some toilet rolls, you won't be disappointed.
