“The cottage is pretty, and was warm and ok but we was unable to use the cookers induction hob the whole week we did manage to use the oven, there are no instructions how to use at all even with covid rules a laminated wipeable set of instructions would have been really useful , likewise no instructions for the microwave,dishwasher,washing machine, tv etc luckily we was ok to figure these out but maybe some people might not be able too.”

The tv was set up for netflix but no code so couldnt use, just little things like that all help in making the holiday, On leaving I stripped the bed of the duvet cover pillowcases and sheet -there was only a sheet ontop of the mattress and wasnt to keen to see the mattress has horrible stains on it made me feel abit queasy. Off rd parking is always something we choose , we found the driveway difficult hadnt realised it raises up and has low stone walls either side at the start It proved incredibly difficult for us as we have a really wide, low to the ground sports car i know we are more of a minority and the majority of people in their cars may find it ok , the other drawback a couple of times we found people parked opposite the drive on the narrow rd outside and then we could neither get in or out anyway of the drive . Our first night , wasnt to happy expected a quiet evening but as we watched tv kept hearing loud voices , singing music etc went to bed but somewhere after 11 the music stopped from the pub but gone midnight people still loud walking up the rd , and to the car park as the car park is directly opposite the cottage and raised , at night the car lights shine directly into the bedroom-yes there is curtains and a blind but it was a nuisance, The cottage is in a area that means it's easy to drive out to lots of other places to visit and walking from the cottage is also good The welcome pack was very nice and thoughtful, Overall the cottage for us was hit and miss However , we are all different people so something we wasnt keen on etc may not bother others , we realise the drive issue might not bother most people. Oh and the bath drips all the time so wastes lots of water -not just one drip at a time -lots. All in all we enjoyed our holiday as we was able to get out visit places once lockdown happened plenty of walking from the cottage, just wouldn't book the cottage again . I have given just a honest opinion and not trying to be horrible about things

Had everything we needed. St Agnes is a lovely village. Great brew pub on your doorstep and easy access to the SW Coastal Path.

“We have stayed at Wheal Dream in the winter of 2018 so knew what to expect of the cottage and even with the Covid changes it met our expectations and needs.”

Whilst the check in time had been put back an hour for extra cleaning that was felt understandable and acceptable. We stayed elsewhere the following week through another company and check in time was 7pm which I would not agree to again and therefore not book. The cottage is very comfortable, in an ideal location with great access to the cove and beach, coast path and walk up into town. Bonus is the parking space. It would be good to have a stand up shower rather than the handheld over the bath with no screen but realise ceiling height is the issue and personal choice. Shame the downstairs toilet isn’t a shower room as the cottage only accommodates 2 people so having 1 toilet would suffice. There are places to eat on the doorstep so you could stay down at the cove but there are wonderful places to eat in the village with Taste a must and the crab rolls from the Deli exceptional. St Agnes felt safe to be in and lifeguards were on the beach. Would definitely book again.

“Our dissatisfaction was with the listing rather than the cottage itself.”

The directions to the property were inaccurate; they stated that at Chiverton Cross roundabout, we should take the third exit onto the B3285 when in fact the road is the B3277. The directions also stated that 'Wheal Dream can be found on the right hand side, with the black double gates' but the black double gates belong to the property next door. Although neither of these were major inaccuracies, they did create confusion and some anxiety for us when trying to locate the property and working out where the cottage was and where we should park. Although the property isn't listed as having a log burning stove, one of the images shows the stove burning. However, it can't be used because of the thatched roof. We were disappointed about this and wondered if the photo showing the lit stove might be replaced? Other than the above comments, we were very pleased with the cottage. It had everything we expected and more, and the welcome pack left by the housekeepers was indeed most welcome!
