  • "Apartment, fittings and cleanliness excellent Externally the patio area was depressing, weeds growing through cracks and paving slabs discoloured and in need of high pressure jetting."

Thank you for your feedback Peter and great to know that our cleanliness, along with fittings was excellent. We will ensure the patio receives attention. Property Owner

  • "The house was once again very clean and tidy a big thank you once again to the cleaner."

The accuracy of the location is totally wrong, the nearest shops are nearly 2km away and definitely not within walking distance due to the dangerous roads unless you are like me and used to live in Roche and know the back roads. The rest I mentioned in my stay in June but was not all published

  • "We have stayed at Carbis Wharf many times before it was taken over / sold, as my parents live in Roche, I also have lived there many years."

To be honest not a lot has changed, yes the second shower room downstairs is an added bonus but off from the living room

Thanks for taking the time to give feedback. As regular visitors, you've probably seen the difference in new furniture and the second bathroom since we took over and it's pleasing to see you have booked again. Thank you. Look forward to seeing you in September. Property Owner

Very clean, warm and homely. Milk and biscuits were great when you've been travelling. Everything easy to use. Central to places to visit.

Thanks for your feedback Sarah. So glad you enjoyed your stay. As you say, it is really central and great for exploring Cornwall. Hope to see you again soon. Property Owner

  • "The property was really lovely; spacious and comfortable."

The sitting room area is a great place to lounge around in comfort after a day out. Easily big enough for 6 adults. We all found the beds a little hard and think they could benefit from some sort of memory foam topper mattress. The enclosed courtyard area would be great to sit out in (had the weather been kinder to us). The location is very convenient for accessing both the north and south coast. However, Roche itself is not particularly attractive and the property is situated outside of the village so a car is needed to get to anything. We had a lovely week long stay in spite of inclement weather.

We are so glad you enjoyed your stay - despite the weather! The beds can be an individual issue, as we do get complimented on them, but we will take on board your feedback. Hope to see you again. Property Owner

The property

Charlestown 7 miles.

Settled on the outskirts St Austell and packed with character, thanks to its historical setting, rests this charming holiday home of Furness.

A fantastic base for a family of six's Cornish getaway, Furness is within reach of a range of brilliant sights and attractions, including the Eden Project and Roche Rock which are just a short drive away.

Due to the location it is a perfect spot for exploring the whole of Cornwall.

After parking in one of the generous off-road parking spaces on arrival, make your way inside and be welcomed by a delightful kitchen/diner, a well-equipped space hosting everything you need to make delicious, homecooked meals, including an electric cooker!

Once these tasty dishes have been made, these can be enjoyed at the dining tables of the kitchen/diner, or outside on the sunny patio.

Continue to the living room, where a large, velvet corner sofa entices you to settle down with your favourite tipple in front of the electric fire and Smart TV.

As the day draws to a close, choose between one of three lovely bedrooms on the first floor, all of which enjoy neutral tones and charming exposed beams, including a super king and two twins.

The West Dry Accommodation

The West Dry Accommodation consists of six marvellous holiday homes resting on the outskirts of Roche, Cornwall. Formerly known as part of Great Wheal Prosper, a working clay dry, it has been converted into this fantastic collection of lettings you see today. As you can see, this group of properties enjoy a great deal of character, whilst also boasting TVs, access to a communal utility, ample off-road parking and their own private patios. Nearby, Roche Rock, an attraction that seems like an abandoned prop from the set of the court of King Arthur, rises dramatically from the china clay terrain to the north of St Austell. When you see the destroyed fifteenth-century church that sits on its flat summit, the mystery surrounding this tall, nearly cuboidal lump of granite is considerably heightened. When it comes to your amenities, there is a convenience store in Roche village, along with a newsagents, post office, pharmacy and hairdressers, takeaways, pasty shop, butchers and a grocery. If you're looking to treat your loved ones to a meal out, The Victoria Inn can be found just outside Roche and The Bugle Inn rests, as its name suggests, in nearby Bugle; both offer hearty meals and local ale. Be sure to venture to St Austell for an outing, with its additional amenities, along with access to the shores of Duporth, Porthpean and Carlyon Bay, St Austell Brewery and the St Austell Golf Club. There is a wealth of attractions settled within easy reach, the most notable being The Eden Project just a short drive away. The other attractions range from the Wheal Martyn Museum, Bodmin Jail and The Lost Garden of Heligan to the National Trust's Lanhydrock House, Camel Creek Adventure Park and Dairyland Farm Park; there is truly so much to see here. A fantastic stay that is brimming with history, choose The West Dry Accommodation.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £150.
