The location proved to be ideal, offering easy access to beaches and we do have own hot bath outdoor in a complete view of country side Enhancing the Holiday Experience: The true highlight of our stay was the warm hospitality extended by Melly. They were incredibly knowledgeable about the area and provided invaluable recommendations on things to do and see. "We had a lovely stay at Tor Down Quarry and were made to feel very welcome by the owners."
The views are stunning and it is a very peaceful location with an excellent pub within walking distance. The accommodation was really well equipped and had everything that we needed for our stay. The location is great as you get to relax in the countryside but are just a short drive to a number of attractions such Bodmin Jail, The Eden Project and the beaches of Padstow.

"The property was absolutely perfect beutiful grounds all well kept the two lakes upper and lower both amazing the granite rock mirrored in the still waters of the lakes breathtaking."
the complex its self is quite central for visiting both north and south coastlines which we did making sure we got back in time to enjoy a soak in the hot tub.

"We had a lovely stay here, the photos dont do the place justice."
The view is absolutely stunning. Everything in the cabin is well maintained and high quality.

"This is our second visit to Tor Down Quarry and we had a fantastic time!"
The lodge was lovely and spacious. It was fully equipped with everything you could possibly need and then some! The view was stunning, with a gorgeous sunset on the doorstep! Nothing is too much trouble for Kirsty! We had a small glitch on our arrival and she quickly sorted it out! We can't wait till our next visit! 5 star all the way!

"The property was really lovely, beautiful surroundings."
The property was for 6 people, but had much more crockery , glasses etc to accommodate 6, and lots of cooking utensils as well. The owner came up to see us just after we arrived, she was very friendly and made sure we knew how to contact her if there were any problems (there weren’t) and and also told us what was in the area. Lovely peaceful place and the hot tub was a definite winner with us all. We would definitely recommend this property. Also a cream tea waiting for us was a lovely touch.

"Mellydonen was a little slice of heaven."
Three generations of women had a perfect stay. The lodge was absolutely beautiful inside with plenty of space, spotlessly clean. With a huge Veranda, the outdoor space and privacy with 180° view was stunning. Not overlooked at all. we felt like we were in a different world. I cannot recommend this lodge highly enough. We had such a fantastic peaceful holiday. The Veranda is a real sun trap all day. The added bonus of a daily swim in the lake for both my dogs was fantastic. Both the lakes are beautiful. The quarry is packed with bird life. Lots of bunnies bouncing around in the evening. Kirsty the host was on site if needed, but you had total privacy. Oh and let’s not forget the hot tub, my 83-year-old mother fell in love with it, and we watched the sunset from here almost every night. I cannot wait to return next year.

"We've just had a amazing week staying in 'melly' which was fantastically equipped and spotlessly clean."
Kirsty and her family were the perfect hosts. The nearby town of St Breward is also lovely with the all important shop and pub within walking distance. Can't fault a thing about it. So I think we'll be back before long!

"The lodge was absolutely gorgeous and so spacious."
We have 2 older teenagers and we all had room to be apart when we needed to. Clean and tidy with everything you need. Perfect location and close to beaches etc. Hot tub was great and lovely to watch the sunsets. Our lodge Melly was positioned so we didn't feel overlooked and we were totally private. Would definitely come back.

"Excellent accommodation, very comfortable with outstanding views around."
It was lovely to sit in the hot tub and take in the glorious views around, good for wildlife watching, a deer walked past the dinning room window on our first night. The host were very helpful and friendly. I would definitely book again if visiting Cornwall. 5 star accommodation, 5 star views and 5 star hosts.

"We have just got back from our staycation to Tor Down Quarry and what a holiday we have had!"
On arrival, the lodge was immaculate and very homely. It had all the facilities you could wish for and the owners also thought about all the basic necessities, no need to bring towels, linen, kitchen utensils and the like as this lodge has it all. The highlight was the views from the hot tub in the evening, a great place to wind down. We also took a trip to the lake on sight and it was a memory we won't forget! Needless to say I would 100% recommend this lodge to anyone wanting to stay in Cornwall, we can't wait to go back!
-

"We loved it, from the moment we arrived everything was as described."
The kids called me and were excited about their bedroom, the drawers and the best bathroom ever, and we can even watch Netflix in bed!! We had everything we needed and all the essential comforts, a well equipped kitchen and plenty of apace for a family of six, the views from the hot tub were amazing and we made good use of the indoor and outdoor space. We quickly got used to our location… what3words is essential to locating the cabin on arrival. Fab location as we used it as a bolt hole to explore Cornwall with some lovely beaches in 10-20 miles.
-
"We have just returned from a fantastic stay."
The cabin was extremely clean and comfortable. Kirsty and John were very welcoming and the scenery was beautiful. We have already booked in for our next stay there... can't wait!
-
"The lodge was bigger, brighter and more spacious than we expected."
The cream tea on arrival was a lovely touch and Kirsty couldn't do enough to make sure we had everyone we needed or wanted. Will definitely be back for a swim in the lakes when it's a little bit warmer.
-
"Amazing stay!"
Very clean, very quiet and out of the way. Beautiful views just out of the window! Really loved our stay here and it is an amazing cabin!
-
"We have just returned from a fantastic week staying in Melly."
From the Fantastic location we were able to explore the more hidden parts of Cornwell. The setting of our Cabin was tranquil and relaxing with amazing views across Cornwell. The owners made us welcome, and the home made scones, jam.and cream, were a fantastic surprise and very much enjoyed! The hot tub was secluded and enjoyed the fabulous views. Our Cabin was amazingly well equipped with everything you could need on a self catering break. There are 2 lakes one within easy reach on a little further away both of which are gorgeous and would be fantastic in the summer to a swim, but looked stunning even in January! Basically if you want a fantastic relaxing holiday in Cornwall away from the coast (its within easy reach) then I would wholeheartedly recommend staying here, you will bot be disappointed!
-
"We came to the Melly as a group for new year, we really enjoyed our stay, the lodge had everything we could possibly need there ready for us, the lodge it’s self is beautiful and spacious & the hosts are very welcoming."

"Just before arriving, we got lostso we phoned the owner who were more than happy to help and very friendly."
Freshly baked scones with clotted cream and local jam on the side. Was a nice welcome. The lodge was spotless with everything you need at hand. My husband is a wheelchair user and the lodge was perfect plenty of space, it was child freidly too and my dog had a fab time. We have had an amazing week. Highly recommended and we would book it every year. Thank you very much for an amazing lodge.
-
"Wow! This holiday exceeded my expectations in everything from the ease of booking to the actual accomodation and facilities."
Hope to be back one day

"The cabin was perfect, on fact, beyond perfect."
The lovely owner had anticipated everything we may have needed so the cabin was really well stocked. And fresh homemade scones with jam and cream as we arrived was very welcome. There is a Quarry lake near by which the kids loved for swimming and that was probably the highlight of their holiday. Would highly recommend this property and area of Cornwall.
-

The property
Mellydone Beder Del is a stunning, single-storey lodge situated on the outskirts of St Breward in Cornwall.
Set within a large quarry and with two lakes, this unique retreat offers a first-class getaway for families and friends to Cornwall.
Illuminated with natural light, the contemporary open-plan living space offers a delightful space to relax in the evening; take a seat on the sumptuous sofa before the Smart TV, tuning into your favourite on-demand shows or simply reminiscing over the holiday so far.
Head to the breakfast bar and keep the chef of the group company whilst they get acquainted with all the mod cons, including an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and a dishwasher, so you won’t have to lift a finger when it comes to washing up!
When the evening draws to a close, retire to one of the three bedrooms, each tastefully furnished with crisp white bed linen and enjoying en-suite facilities and Smart TVs, so you can resume your binge watching in bed!
After the thrill and excitement of a day on the moors or enjoying the exhilarating lakes, relax in the hot tub out on the terrace, before returning to the lodge, or gather your loved ones for an alfresco meal.
When it comes to dining out, you have two of the finest moorland pubs in Cornwall just two miles away; head to the award-winning Old Inn, dating back to the 11th century, or book a table at the Blisand Inn, famous for its quality range of real ale and former national CAMRA pub of the year award.
Nearby, Poley’s Bridge marks the beginning of the Camel Trail, a 17-mile long route, which follows a long, disused old steam engine railway line to Padstow.
Pop on your walking boots to venture into the rugged landscapes of Bodmin Moor, or head to the coast with your buckets and spades and enjoy a day on one of the many beaches resting along Cornwall’s northern coastline, including Polzeath Beach, Harlyn Bay Beach, and Tregardock Beach.
Alternatively, you might prefer some sightseeing so visit the TV home of Doc Martin at Port Isaac or venture to Tintagel where the legend of King Arthur abounds at Tintagel Castle and Merlin’s Cave.
With so much to do close by, as well as being within reach of the north and south coast of Cornwall, a stay at Mellydone Beder Del promises life-long memories with your loved ones.
