“I think we probably would not have booked this property had we seen the first review of it but luckily we arrived without any preconceptions.”

We found the property to be clean and were impressed with the good quality bed linen and towels. The fridge shelving was a little cracked and the freezer was missing a drawer but it was clean and usable. We have stayed in many self catering properties before and I would say this had the basic equipment needed to cook a meal but there wasn’t plentiful crockery and cutlery and it lacked useful things like kitchen roll, cling film and foil that other places granted four stars generally provide ...

We found the property to be clean and were impressed with the good quality bed linen and towels. The fridge shelving was a little cracked and the freezer was missing a drawer but it was clean and usable. We have stayed in many self catering properties before and I would say this had the basic equipment needed to cook a meal but there wasn’t plentiful crockery and cutlery and it lacked useful things like kitchen roll, cling film and foil that other places granted four stars generally provide. However, the owners had left a folder of very useful information and a few treats as a welcome pack. There was plentiful hot water and the heating was very effective. The estate the house is on does suffer with a parking problem but that didn't really affect us as there is space to park in front of the house. We didn't notice any litter. It was convenient to walk into St Ives if you didn’t mind a steep walk back. We were disturbed for an hour or so on one evening by the neighbours who were clearly having some problems. Generally we were satisfied with the accommodation but felt we had probably paid more than usual because of its location in St Ives.

About the location

ST IVES

Penzance 6 miles.

One of Cornwall's prettiest harbour towns, St Ives offers narrow streets, tight-packed cottages nestling around the quayside, the Tate Gallery and Barbara Hepworth museum, fabulous beaches, superb shops, a thriving community of artists, great pubs and restaurants and much more. With its semi Bohemian lifestyle and romantic air, it's easy to see why this is the county's premier holiday resort. The surrounding area has much for the visitor to see and do with abundant wildlife, fabulous coastal walks, top quality surfing and the Celtic mysteries of the Land's End Peninsula are all within easy reach. A superb destination!
