We really appreciated the welcome pack and milk in the fridge, thank you so much. Would highly recommend.

  • "We had the most wonderful holiday at Breakers Point."

The house is immaculate and it seemed that everything was brand new in the house. Every facility needed for a perfect holiday was provided. The furniture, fittings and the most amazing comfortable beds had been given careful consideration .We had a lovely view from the Loft bedroom and even enjoyed watching the seagulls and their fledglings on the roof. The toaster blew the fuse but within the hour "Helping Hands Service arrived after contacting them about the problem. A new toaster arrived the next day from Amazon so you can see the owner cares very much and wants the clients to have the best service. We did have some rain during our stay so the TV and Netflix and Sky Service was an added bonus when we couldn't get out. An amazing property and we will be back sometime in the future I am sure of it. Thank You Best Wishes Lynette Jones

Very good have stayed there before but does require a bit of work know ie sealer round the bath and taps loose and bit of water coming from new radiator tap near the shower end but still a good holiday lett

Thank you for your feedback. I am glad that the issues you have mentioned did not appear to have spoilt your stay. I did recently have a new radiator fitted in the bathroom so I can see if this is causing the bit of water you noticed and needs adjusting. I will need to look at the sealant around the bath/taps. • "Very nice place but the parking is very tight as there is a wall one side and next door don't park there car very well also there is a van that parks in the space opposite the drive entrance every morningmaking it very difficult to go out early."

Inside the property is very modern, clean and spacious and on the 3rd floor has great views of St ives but found that the banisters on both stairs are loose and wobbling witch is a safety concern.

Thank you for your feedback. If parking is an issue for guests wanting to go out early, it is possible to park on the road at the front of the house after 6pm in the evening until 9am in the morning. These parking hours apply from March to October. Between November and February parking is permitted 24 hours. Regarding the stair banisters; during the winter months I did have various Health & Safety checks on the property and no reference was made to the stair banisters. However I will be visiting the property myself imminently and will have this checked. Property Owner

The top floor bedroom is stunning. The parking space is tight if the car next door is large: best to approach from the top of the lane. We had a brilliant stay and will come again, although a later check-out time would be appreciated!

Thank you for your feedback, we are glad that you enjoyed your stay and your tip on the parking may help future guests. Apologies that the housekeepers are unable to offer any flexibility on the check out time. Property Owner

  • "We absolutely loved Breakers Point."

The views from our bedroom were breathtaking. It was so beautifully decorated and was a real treat to spend a week there. Very spacious, spotlessly clean and the beds were the most comfortable. Bathroom was perfect. Very good and fast Wifi and a good smart tv was very nice. Only one thing that isn't a fault but was mentioned in a previous review, the cutlery drawer is cleverly built into the pots and pans drawer. The stairs to the top bedroom are quite steep but not a problem for us. Parking is a bit tight and more suitable for a smaller car. I have a Fiat 500L(the larger model). I did have to park close and climb over to get out the passenger side. This really didn't bother me at all as the property was so lovely, close to the shops, restaurants, beaches and lovely coastal walks that we barely used the car. I would highly recommend Breakers Point to anyone looking at booking it. We would love to return sometime.

  • "Excellent location and comfortable, well equipped accommodation We would highly recommend."

Only a few minor additions would have been useful: a washing up bowl, drainer, washing up gloves (there was only 1 glove), napkins, salad bowl and salad servers, a kitchen towel, spare toilet roll and toilet bleach and bin bags. We did wonder why there are no re-cycling facilities? We did sweep the back path but a regular clean on account of the seagulls would enhance this aspect of the house.

  • "Breakers Point is a lovely property and I would highly recommend it."

It was spotless and was a short walk, but steep return, walk to the centre of the town. The beds were very comfortable and it was well equipped. On the negative side, we were disappointed there was no separation of waste into recyclables provided for in the property ! Also, a sticker on the hidden cutlery drawer above the pots and pan press would be useful ! The couch is uncomfortable and dips badly in the middle.

Thank you for your feedback. The owner has had a great deal of trouble with trying to find someone to deal with the recycling. We are sorry to hear about your discomfort with the sofa. Unfortunately furnishings are very much personal preference. We do find the drawer to be a useful addition to the kitchen at the property! Property Owner

  • "First the good stuff: Breakers Point is well appointed, clean and comfortable, a credit to owner and caretaker."

The location is away from the busy part of town but towards the top of Porthmeor Hill which has an estimated gradient of c1:7.5(13.3%) overall a drop of 51m to Porthmeor beach.(courtesy Google Earth) Porthcurno is well worth a visit - lovely beach/bay and transatlantic cable history. Now the bad stuff: I think it remiss of the owner not to mention that there is another property built in the original back yard of 7 Ayr Terrace, currently known as Beach Hut. (Sykes ref. 1055165). The impression is given of one offroad parking space. Yes it states "best suited for a small car". My car will fit the stated space with an open door. In reality there is an adjacent wall and another parked car. Because of the confines Breakers Point resident has to drive in and Beach Hut resident can only reverse in. Oh and another car parks on the opposite side of the access lane making it virtually impossible. I chose to park (at a cost) on a local holiday park 0.3mile away. Beach Hut I believe has a different owner and their listing mentions even less! Parking is the problem not adjacent residents. A complaint has been raised but no feedback one week later.

Thank you for your feedback and I am glad that you found Breakers Point clean and comfortable. There is a holiday let property at the rear of Breakers Point. This is part of the original building but is now a self contained unit. There is parking for one vehicle at the rear of Breakers Point which is off road parking and the dimensions of the parking space are 2.3 metres wide and 9 metres long. This information is highlighted on the website for Breakers Point in order that potential guests, prior to booking, can judge if this space would be suitable/accommodate their vehicle. • "The scart lead for the DVD player is a bit dodgy and needs replacing as you have to move it around to get it to work."

Also the absence of the welcome gift of cream teas etc was missing this time, which was a shame.

Thank you for taking the time to complete your feedback, we have spoken with the owner, who is most grateful for your comments. The DVD player has now been replaced with a new one. The TV has also been upgraded to a smart TV. The owner has chosen to not provide a welcome pack due to dietary requirements, there are several local lovely bakery's in the area which are definitely worth a visit. Property Owner

  • "Breakers Point was like a home away from home it was spotlessly clean and had everything you needed for a high standard well presented self catering property."

Wifi was available throughout and easy to connect to. A fully equipped kitchen with dining table, the living room had a comfortable seating area with a good sized tv with freeview, also available are board games, dvds and books. Bedrooms were both large in size with very comfortable beds both rooms had sea views, twin room side sea view double had full sea views from both windows, bedrooms are light and airy with ample wardrobe/drawer space. Bathroom was large with a bath and separate shower. Location to the harbour is a pleasant 10 minute walk away you can walk along the path from porthmeor beach then through the quaint streets with all the pretty holiday cottages as you head towards the town. Just a note the walk back whichever route you chose from the town centre and there’s 3 options is up a very steep hills so if you do have walking difficulties you may struggle however there is a regular bus service that stops near the house from the town. Overall this property is outstanding and in a excellent location I had very comfortable stay and wouldn’t hesitate in booking this property again if i were to visit St. Ives

  • "We have had a lovely two weeks at Breakers Point."

The property is very comfortable and spotlessly clean, with a well equipped kitchen and stunning views. It's only 10 minutes walk down to the beach and town centre and there's a bus to get back up if you don't fancy walking up the hill. The TV could do with updating to make Netflix available but that is just a minor issue. We enjoyed sitting in the little front garden in the evening and chatting to passers by. I would highly recommend this property for a nice relaxing holiday.

  • "On arrival there were several long head hairs on the bathroom floor."

It suggested that the floor had not been cleaned. Check out time, too early. Understand why with current situation. A rushed end to a holiday, I hope this returns to a normal time. Even more of a rush when your expected to strip beds and prepare laundry. Not a holiday experience I expect or need to pay for. The TV could do with an upgrade to smart TV to allow for streaming.

Owner response; I apologise that you found head hair on the bathroom floor. This is not typical of the housekeeping at Breakers Point but I have relayed your comments to the housekeeping provider. As you mentioned Check In / Out times, together with laundry arrangements have been affected by the current COVID situation and we will look towards reviewing these times/arrangements in line with Health and Safety guidelines. I take on board your comments regarding the TV and will consider replacing that in forthcoming months. I understand that some guests use their own firesticks with the TV which works successfully. There is also a varied selection of DVDs provided. Property Owner

  • "Yes. The rental was up a very steep hill from the town - not "just steps from shops and restaurants."

" This was a detriment. Also, for Americans and others not used to the vagaries of hot water boilers, it would be important to note that the radiator in the bathroom must be left on for hot water to work. This was confusing til we inquired and got it sorted out. I had a series of emails from you about a painter coming with a different reference number than my booking and I had to figure out the mistake. A little better management on your part would be helpful instead of chiding me for referencing a different number. I would rate my satisfaction with your company at 50/50 although the house itself was comfortable.

Very clean and comfortable. Great view from top bedroom and nice view from other bedroom (left corner window). Short walk into town or beach, tried several ways 'down', but all very steep getting back up. There does seem to be a small bus that climbs the hill and stops near by. Ayr stores excellent for essentials a few minutes away. St Ives itself is stunning. Would happily stay here again.

  • "We were very impressed with the cleanliness of the property and the general feel of the house."

There is quite a steep walk up from the centre of St Ives to the property but not a problem, there is a lot of “up” in St Ives! We also liked the good sized kitchen/dining area and the generous sized bathroom with separate large bath and shower cubicle. A very minor point, but some of the kitchen knives used for food preparation could do with being sharpened. Ayr Store, which is a two minute walk away, sells vegan and vegetarian produce as well as other general items. All in all a very enjoyable holiday.

  • "When we arrived after a long journey , it was to find another car parked across both spaces in the narrow space allotted to the property ."

We phoned your selves to try and ascertain who had parked and what could be done . After explaining the situation to the rep , he was able to contact the other person renting the Beach hut next to ours and after about an hour he returned to move their car . He said they had no idea there were supposed to be two spaces . Their agent had not informed them at all . After jiggling the cars ,we managed ok for the rest of the week until the friday evening when we realised theirs was a friday start while ours was a saturday . When the new rental person arrived , my husband went out to explain the situation. Again ,they had no idea it was a shared space and very tight . As the restriction on street parking had changed because of the season ,we were able to park in front of the house until we left early the next morning . Clearly ,there needs to be more comm with the agent and from them to their rentals . It is not our job to act as parking guides whilst on holiday or at any other time . Actually , with a little thought and some work on the walls of the space by the owners , there would be much more space available . We would like to thank yourselves for dealing with this issue as quickly as possible and it might be advisable to address this issue with the agents /owners in the future . The house was clean ,neat and tidy and the cream tea pack was very welcome . new handwash bottles and cleaning supplies were also thoughtful and well considered . The sheets and towels were of good quality . One thing that need attention is that the light bulbs in the bathroom and bedroom take so long to come on ,that you have finished what you went in there for and switched them off before they have started illuminating the space . A dishwasher would be a huge bonus .!
