  • "Thus is our 2nd stay at the Oyster."

An absolute gem. The decor and cleanliness was amazing. After coming to St. Ives for 35years it is by far the best place we have stayed. Thank you

  • "Absolutely superb accommodation."

The views from the main bedroom and lounge, looking down into St Ives, are stunning. Very well appointed throughout the property with well equiped kitchen. Most welcome to have a property with a car parking space, very useful in St Ives where car parking is at a premium.

  • "Lovely home with amazing views."

Well equipped throughout, just missing a colander in the kitchen. Close but steep walk down to Porthminster beach. From here you can access the costal path walk round to Carbis Bay which is worth doing. Town is a short downhill walk away. Would recommend the Oyster to anyone wishing to stay in St Ives.

Thank you for your feedback, we are pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay at The Oyster, we will be sure to pass your feedback onto the owner for their consideration and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back again in the future. • "The most beautiful place to stay!"

The views are stunning. We arrived and the apartment was spotless so clean and tidy. Located so close to the beach we could pop down for a few hours after/before tea time if we had been doing other activities that day and with parking it gave us everything we wanted for our holiday. The only negative we have, the beds were really hard, but this absolutely won't stop us returning! Would 100% recommend.

  • "The oyster is a lovely apartment, we was a party of 4 adults and a child I had read other comments previously, the apartment has amazing views and was comfortable but we all struggled with the beds as they are so hard."

Personal choice I know, but I did read a few comments in the book on this too. The back two bedrooms which has previously been mentioned about the noise from the road. Kept everyone awake all night long the whole time we was there. They really need triple or double glazing installing. As when you’re paying 3.200 pounds for a week stay effectively six day you expect better and to have a relaxing holiday and some sleep at least. Also I would advise people to book later for this apartment as I paid up In full in April to Them to see the apartment reduced later for The whole Of July and august by 1000 pounds less which is a substantial difference and very unfair. I understand the websites work on an algorithms methods. But why should It penalises people who paid earlier in advance So I would take note of this. If booking this apartment. Other than that the is very nicely decorated.

Thank you for your feedback, we are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay in St Ives and loved the views from the Oyster – they are quite spectacular! We are sorry that you were troubled by the road noise. The property description, photos and map show that the Oyster is located next to a main road and as such is already fitted with double glazing. We are sorry to hear that you found the mattresses ‘hard’ although you quite rightly stated that this is obviously down to personal preference. We have shared your feedback with the owners who take all comments and suggestions for improvements very seriously, so replacing mattresses I am sure will be considered ahead of Season 2024. Pricing of properties can differ in line with the demand – if you book in advance as most people do, you are more likely to be able to secure for yourself and your family, the property and dates you desire. Booking last minute, offers no guarantee of availability or lower pricing. Thank you again for your comments and feedback and we do hope to welcome you back in the future. We really enjoyed our stay there and thought that the little touch of having tea coffee, cookies were sweet. The only one minor points were the mattress was not comfortable. We would definitely like to come back to this place again.

We are delighted to hear you enjoyed the stunning views. Mattress comfortability is subjective however the owners are responsive to feedback and replacing mattresses will be something they will be considering. • "The Oyster is a lovely modern spacious apartment with an amazing view over St Ives."

Immaculately clean with the important little touches eg books to read, soap, tea towels,, shower gel etc provided. A gift of Prosecco, milk, chocolates and even a pretty shopping bag left for us to use and take home. Situated half way up the hill from the harbour, with nearby bus stops for 5he coastal bus routes and a train station and supermarket close by. Very good public transport at a good price. Very comfortable sofa and chairs. The beds were a little hard for me but as it was just the two of us I used a spare quilt as a topper which solved the problem. Perhaps a topper could be left in wardrobe for use if necessary. Very good bed linen. We had a wonderful holiday, luckily with brilliant weather through the week. I would definitely stay here again. Like a home from home. Thank you.

Thank you very much for your wonderful constructive comments following your recent holiday at The Oyster and we definitely agree, the views over the Bay from the apartment really are stunning. We are so pleased to hear you appreciated The Oyster’s great location too and that you enjoyed the little treats left for you to enjoy. We are sorry that the mattress did not suit your personal preference, thank you for your recommendation regarding mattress toppers we will pass this on to the property owner for their consideration. The views are just amazing. The beach is only a few minutes away although beware it is a few steep minutes away, but a good work out after a day eating and drinking at beautiful Porthminster Beach. The property has been done to a very high spec with Miele appliances and lovely bathrooms. Parking is a huge bonus and the icing on the cake were the really thoughtful extras of Prosecco, juice and milk in the fridge and some yummy Cornish biscuits. We would highly recommend The Oyster and would absolutely book it again.

  • "Previous feedback mentioned a melted chopping board, this still had not been replaced meaning we had to purchase one."

Windows/doors in the lounge v dirty as previously mentioned. Only 2 kitchen knives in the kitchen. Property of this standard and cost should have sky package as standard as do many of your other properties, even much cheaper ones. Main double bedroom only has 1 bedside table and lamp, not sure where person that side of the bed can leave a drink of water, glasses? Other than that beautiful property, great views of st Ives and great location.

Thank you for your feedback. We are glad you enjoyed the location and the beautiful property. The owner has replaced the items missing/damaged. Kind Regards The Carbis Bay Holidays Team. Property Owner

  • "The apartment was very clean."

The windows of the view at the back could have done with a clean, although of course appreciate the recent storms. Lovely apartment but: the chopping board had been partially melted and needs to be replaced; there was also no tin opener; and there were no bin bags provided other than the one already in the bin - which made it impossible to dispose of all rubbish at the end of the stay. It was also very disappointing not to have any recycling facilities on-site as we understand the local council does do curb side collections in St Ives. One other thing to mention is the very costly price of the apartment in the summer months; this appears to be overpriced. Overall though, very happy with the apartment for our stay in particular the cleanliness of it all. We found the beds to be comfortable unlike some other reviews.

Thank you for your feedback. We are glad you found the apartment lovely, in particular the cleanliness. There are recycling facilities in St Ives, but unfortunately not curb side collections for this property. We will make sure there is a tin opener, bin bags and replace the chopping board. • "Very impressed with the oyster, however a few things just took the edge off an almost perfect stay."

Firstly, all three beds were extremely uncomfortable....various family members came away with stiff necks and sore backs. A mattress topper might help make sleeping more comfortable. Secondly, the main bedrooms shower...the tiles were slimey and there was mould around the shower tray. No towel holder in the downstairs cloakroom. Other small things to make this apartment even better would be a coffee machine and perhaps a pair of binoculars to enjoy the stunning views even more. Other than that, absolutely loved this place and would stay again.

It is in a great location for walking into St. Ives and for exploring wider Cornwall. We love staying here, but unfortunately due to the unjustified price hikes for next year we feel it will not represent good value for money for us for future stays.

We love the houses/apartments and they are an absolute home from home. Hey are beautifully furnished and equipped and better built than our own house. Service is excellent. The only tiny thing I would ask for is the ability for kerbside recycling to avoid a trip to the bottle bank or sending glass, metal and paper to landfill! We will be back

Dear David, Firstly, thank you for taking the time to submit your feedback. Its lovely to hear that you decided to return to St. Eia.
