  • "We had a lovely time."

St Just has a good locals vibe and has not been spoiled. We were extremely happy in the cottage, in fact we stayed in most evenings and just chilled. We would definitely come again. We were impressed with the cleanliness and the facilities. We were impressed with all that was provided for a super stay. The car park was fine and free and it only took me a few minutes back and forth. Thanks again for everything, Haydn and Dona

Our car got bumped on the car park

Glad you enjoyed your holiday, but surprised by car park incident, which I hope did not colour your overall scoring as this is out of our control. The car park is very open and viewable and well lit at night and in our 7 years of having Little Rock this is the first time a guest has reported this. I am afraid we are all at risk of being bumped in any public car park but sorry that this has happened to you. Property Owner

The downstairs accommodation is now looking a little tired and needs updating Would have really appreciated more wood for the wood burner Would be good to be able to park outside the property

Whilst appreciating honest feedback, we wish to point out to him and future guests the importance of reading the information about the cottage before booking. This information states there is No Parking which is unfortunate but true. Also, it is clearly states that we only leave a Starter Pack of logs: We left 8 good sized logs, some kindling and 4 firelighters for this guest (who was staying for only 3 nights) and advised him that additional logs were available at nearby shops, which he seemed happy about. Also, we found it surprising to read his comment about the downstairs accommodation, as we have updated the seating to a higher, modern standard than when he last visited, and previous guests have given very positive feedback about the decor and comfort of our property. Everything you need. Very snug and cosy. Shower a bit weak but not a huge problem. Log burner very easy to use. St just is beautiful. Many shops and pubs. The most beautiful walks. Down points. A blind I’m the bathroom. Not sure the neighbours wanted to see me shower. Also the neighbours do all they can to stop you parking outside. I only had a small car. Which would of fitted perfectly if the plant pots were moved and neighbours didn’t park across front of cottage. Car parks were full when we needed to park. Parked on the road at end of lane and had car written off by local fruit and veg delivery company. Very upsetting end to a beautiful relaxing holiday. Could of been prevented.

.......this little, but cosy cottage is an ideal place to return to after a busy day exploring this beautiful part of Cornwall. One minutes walk from the centre of St Just which caters for every need a holidaymaker could desire. The Chinese takeaway was particularly good and we used it twice.....there are a few pubs and good local shops and we wanted for nothing. We had no trouble parking outside..there was more room than we anticipated..but then we only own a fiesta and we always park snugly and considerately. We loved the log burner...it certainly threw out some heat! The beds were very comfy and the owners had not skimped on the quality of linen/towels. A welcome pack was included and appreciated...and the roses were a lovely touch. The neighbours were friendly and we enjoyed meeting their cats out the back......they are obviously doing work to their home..but this was never an issue for us as we were out every day and we never heard any work being done after 5pm. We would return to Little Rock again and recommend it to friends.

  • "We really enjoyed our holiday at Little Rock cottage."

It was exactly as advertised, and had all the facilities that we required. The location was very close to the centre of St Just village which meant that we had all the amenities on our doorstep. Due to the nature of the street where the cottage is located, parking immediately outside the property was an issue. However we had been advised of this prior to our visit by the owner and that the was a free car park nearby, so for us this wasn't an issue. As our stay was in early November we knew that the weather could restrict our outdoor activities so the wood burner in the lounge provided a warm and toasty alternative away from the wind and rain outside. The coastline and scenery around St Just and in the West of Cornwall in general is spectacular, so this lovely cottage provided an extremely comfortable base from which to explore the area. We would recommend this cottage and hopefully will return there ourselves in the future.

After my last experience with you regarding my complaint about 9 Overton Bank Leek. Which you did settle for me I did tell you that I would report to you on my last holiday. Little Rock cottage was as good as the other one was bad. The comfort and cleanliness was excellent and I would thoroughly recommend this cottage. The only downside was the parking .As there is no designated parking for the cottage it really is a question of parking if you can with realising that other people that live and work there and to carry out their business have to park as well.. There is a large free car park only a couple of minutes walk away. Overall I would give top marks to the cottage and definitely go again . Kind regards Malcolm and Pauline Sims

The only negative is that the attaching property is having major works and you could not sit in the courtyard due to the noise, dust and builders looking at you. They were extremely noisy and therefore not as relaxing as it could have been. There is No parking with this property and should be listed as No Parking. Other than that we have a lovely holiday in St Just.

bright, tastefully decorated and homely, a joy to be there. We loved Cape Cornwall just down the road. We saw a performance of Frankenstein at the Minack Theatre also not far from St. Just, which was a most unique experience. The only fly in the ointment was that there was no signal to watch TV. We watched some DVD's instead or read books. So it did not really spoil our experience.

The property

Perfectly located for touring the spectacular far South West coast of Cornwall this delightful old granite miner’s cottage is situated in England's first and last town, St Just, on the coast between Lands End and St Ives.

Set in a terrace, a short stroll from the town centre, you will feel at home the moment you arrive.

You enter the cottage through the porch into the cosy sitting room with a woodburner, which will prove to be welcome in the cooler months after a breathtaking walk along this amazing coastline.

The kitchen and bathroom are also on the ground floor whist the two bedrooms, one single and one double are both on the first floor.

At the rear of the property is a courtyard offering a great spot to relax at the end of the day.

Few towns, if any, have retained their character in the way St Just has.

History abounds throughout the town with the whole area rich in mining, farming and fishing with monuments and prehistoric antiquities all around.

A visit to the close by Bronze Age settlement of Cape Cornwall, is a must.

The only cape in England where the two oceans meet and the steep walk to the summit will reward you with a 270 degree view over the Western Approaches.

Also the annual St Just Lafrowda festival is a must for all the family.

Lovers of the popular TV series Poldark will recognise many of the mines in the area featured.

The nearby Geevor Tin Mine at Pendeen is also worth a look, where the Hard Rock Trail will take you through areas conveying the spirit of the past.

With a choice of pubs, cafes, local food shops and takeaways you have ample dining choices, whilst the galleries and beautiful old church in the town are all well worth a visit.

For confident drivers, the beautiful drive from St Just to St Ives is best taken in the evening to experience what is considered by many to be the best and most romantic place anywhere, to view a sunset.

An ideal base for a wonderful holiday in a stunning location, whatever the time of year.

About the location

ST JUST

Penzance 7.2 miles; St Ives 12.9 miles.

St Just is the nearest town to Land’s End and is situated approximately eight miles west of Penzance. The town itself is an ancient settlement that has a strong mining history and there are several monuments and prehistoric antiquities to visit including the Bronze Age settlement at Cape Cornwall. St Just is ideally located for visitors to explore the far west of Cornwall as it is situated on the edge of the moors and close to the beautiful north coast. In the centre of the town is Plain-an-Gwarry, a theatre used for miracle plays in medieval times, and in more recent times for the Lafrowda Festival.
