  • "Really lovely place."

Comfortable and clean. Great location - close to the South Cornwall Path but near to the shops in St Just. Glorious view across fields to the sea. You’ll realise why it’s called ‘Sunset’ as the evening progresses. Owners get the balance right - helpful and available when you need them but also leave you alone to get on with your holiday.

  • "Beautiful little cottage, perfectly located for a wander into St Just and further afield."

St Just is small but perfectly formed with 4 good pubs and enough shops and cafes, but very close to gorgeous works and Penzance if you want a bit more bustle. Fantastic balcony views and everything we needed was included. We got around most of West Cornwall using the excellent public transport network. Highly recommend this cottage. One minor recommendation would be to upgrade the TV - we don't watch much telly on holiday but during a couple of storms it would have been nice to even log in to our iplayer or Netflix - however this is a very minor suggestion and in no way distracted from our enjoyment of this fantastic cottage.

Owners live next door and were very friendly, rang us on the first day to say the Accommodation was ready and we could get in earlier if we liked. Facilities would get 5 stars if the shower was more powerful. Another improvement would be a smart TV but with the view to look at it wasn't a problem and the WiFi in the front bedroom was weak.

It was well equipped and perfect for our week stay with two children. We were in the perfect position to explore St Ives, visit Flambards, enjoy the Lands End Experience and catch a show at the Minnack theatre. Penzance, Marazion, St Michael's Mount and Mousehole were also only short car journeys away (15-20 mins). St Just itself had a good size Co op, a couple of pubs and a number of other snack and food options. The owners were very welcoming and milk, tea, coffee, biscuits and even Easter eggs were there on our arrival! We would definitely recommend.

There were flowers, Cornish biscuits, tea and milk when we arrived. We were welcomed by the hosts who were really friendly, and came and checked on us during the gale force winds! The property was as described on the website. Amazing view from the balcony, so on the rainy windy day we stayed in, it was okay as there was lots of natural light and a good view to glance up at in between reading our books. Local pubs, cafes, gifts shops and small food shops within a short walk. The week we were there we visited many places as nothing was too far away. I would definitely recommend Sunset to friends and family.

  • "Small things make a huge difference."

Where to start with this perfect bit of paradise nestled away in such a pretty village. Firstly let me start with the ending…..We will be back, and wouldn’t consider anywhere else when booking to go to Cornwall. Pam and Chris were always there if we needed them. We mentioned that we were low on fuel due to the fuel crisis and that Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Morrisons had all ran out. A couple of minutes later we had a knock on the door with a gallon of Diesel, they also found out when Tesco had a delivery so that we could fill up and it not compromise our holiday. They really go above and beyond for you. The tea tray with flowers, tea, shortbread etc and the milk in the fridge were really lovely touches. We cooked most nights and were amazed at how well equipped the kitchen was, it had everything we needed and so much more. The cottage was very clean, modern and light and the balcony which looks out to sea is just breath-taking. There are two double bedrooms, one upstairs and one downstairs meaning that 2 couples or a small family could stay here and would have their own space. A Short walk takes you into the centre of the very quant St Just, which has several Pubs, a Bakery (that does amazing Cornish pasties and cream teas), a CO-OP with cash point, a butchers and a few little shops. About 20mins away is Penzance where there is a large Sainsbury’s, Morrisons, Tesco, and a few fast food outlets etc. We used Sunset as a base for doing coastal walks and sightseeing around the south west coast and it couldn’t be more perfectly located. Cape Cornwall is a walk away, Lands End, Sennen Bay, St Ives, St Michaels Mount and Porthcurno are less than 30mins drive away, and Lizard Point is less than an hour away. The Walks on the coastal path are absolutely stunning, we would also recommend the Seal Sanctuary, and visiting St Michaels Mount.

The views were breathtaking whatever the weather - it was amazing to be able to see Land's End very clearly as well as the Scilly Isles on some days. We also saw some lovely sunsets. Plus it was fun to watch a few small planes flying over (there's a small aerodrome at Land's End). Also there was a wonderful rural view out over the fields - all very relaxing. The property is ideally situated, being on the edge of the village it's in a quiet spot but only a very short walk to a good selection of shops and restaurants. All achievable easily and stunning views. St Just....4 friendly pubs, couple of chain convenience stores, deli, butchers, bakers and if you look hard enough you'd probably find the candle stick maker at the DIY shop!. Cafe's , chinese takeaway and great fish at Jeremys chippy! Sunset - comfy home from home. Even the Lizard was only a short 40 minute drive. So would I recommend Sunset - yes without question or hesitation. About the location

ST JUST

Penzance 7.2 miles; St Ives 12.9 miles.

St Just is the nearest town to Land’s End and is situated approximately eight miles west of Penzance. The town itself is an ancient settlement that has a strong mining history and there are several monuments and prehistoric antiquities to visit including the Bronze Age settlement at Cape Cornwall. St Just is ideally located for visitors to explore the far west of Cornwall as it is situated on the edge of the moors and close to the beautiful north coast. In the centre of the town is Plain-an-Gwarry, a theatre used for miracle plays in medieval times, and in more recent times for the Lafrowda Festival.
