  • "Our second stay at Stone's Throw was fantastic."

A great cottage in a superb location. Very clean and well appointed. We hope to return for a third visit next year.

  • "Everything was perfect apart from the damp in the property - we were lucky we had good weather but had this not been the case it would have been very uncomfortable."

None of our towels dried overnight which would normally be the case in the height of summer and you could feel the damp in the air, we were grateful we had a heater we could turn on in the evenings. Great location, cleanliness etc but damp not good,

  • "It's an excellent property, a ground floor apartment."

Well set out, Clean, tidy, plenty of information for visitors, not only in respect of where things can be located within the apartment, but also facilities in the local area. It has bedrooms, and would be suitable for families.

  • "We had the loveliest stay at Stones Throw in February."

The house had everything we needed, was a minutes walk away from the seafront and pubs/shops. We will 100% be staying again when we come back next February.

  • "The holiday property; a 2-Bed S/c flat was warm and inviting from the first moment I entered it."

There was a 'Holiday Users Guide' on the table in the sitting room, and other information regarding facilities in the area were placed on a coffee table. I'd already booked for a further stay in 'Stones Throw' before I arrived for my recent holiday there. An act of fatih? Maybe, but I was very pleased that I had done so. Whilst there I actually booked a further week's stay at the end of June. This underscores how much I enjoyed staying there.

  • "Stones Throw had everything you need for a week away and many unexpected extras were provided, I would book again and recommend it to anyone."

St Mawes is beautiful with a fantastic beach and great swimming, and the pubs and restaurants are fabulous.

  • "We took with us the usual assortment of 'just in case items' but we could have saved ourselves a lot of packing because the owner has thought of everything and some more besides: the Sweet Williams were a lovely touch as well."

The flat is very well appointed, comfortable and in a great position to access the many amenities St Mawes has to offer on foot. Cornish fishing villages were not meant for motor vehicles so parking is always at a premium. Stones Throw does have parking so long as you have a smallish car. Actually parking is a test of skill, clutch and engine and no surprise that the route is not given in the description as it wouldn't be easy to do. For those with a bigger car or more faint hearted drivers there is a large public car park on the doorstep, currently £32 for a week. In conclusion we would highly recommend St Mawes and Stones Throw.

  • "The small bedroom was damp."

Other than that cottage was very nice

Thank you for your feedback. We were surprised that you felt the small bedroom was damp, as this has not been mentioned in any previous feedback. The owner has confirmed that the small bedroom isn't damp, it is condensation, which occurs if the property isn't ventilated (windows opened or left on a catch)  Apart from this we are glad that you enjoyed your stay at the cottage. Really comfortable to relax in and only seconds from the centre of st mawes. All essentials in place when we decided to eat in and cook for ourselves.

  • "The apartment had absolutely everything that you needed to ensure that your stay was relaxing and comforting."

Having two children under three the lounge space was perfect for them both the play in the early mornings. The location is fairly peaceful, just hearing the odd bus, which we didnt mind as it was exceptionally close to the beach, village front and pubs, which meant little legs could walk it happily. Defintely a gem of a find and will be booking to go back.

  • "Excellent holiday apartment, clean, bright and fully equipped, they have thought of everything."

We struggled a bit with the night storage heaters (instructions would have been helpful) but supplementary heating was available. Private parking is at a premium in St Mawes so it was great that this apartment had a private space right outside, albeit small and awkward - a Chelsea tractor wouldn't stand a chance. Having said that the Council car park is adjacent and charges not unreasonable (think it was £30 per week). The apartment is very central, once parked there is no need for a car as everything is within strolling distance. The bus to Truro starts from the Council car park. We recommend taking the bus to St Just where there is a beautiful church and gardens (and tea shop) and walking the coastal path back. Perefct. Lamorran Gardens are well worth a visit too.

  • "Lovely, well equipped apartment."

Second bedroom is quite small. Parking space, although mentioned, isn’t easy to find. Better directions to that would be helpful. Our car was ok but may be too small for a larger car. Lovely position in the heart of St Mawes, easy access to shops, pubs and the beach. Would definitely look to rebook.

Mawes. I would recommend this home to a couple or young family without hesitation. The access for more elderly infirm people would be challenging and the parking is tricky when all the spaces are occupied, otherwise fab place

  • "Our second stay at Stones Throw."

Ideal for a couple or small family. Very clean and well equipped for a self catering holiday. Location at St Mawes is great with a 2 minute walk to harbour for shops, bakery, pubs and restaurants. St Mawes is a beautiful place to stay and the Roseland area is great for walking with lovely beaches. Great service from Sykes Cottages with plenty of communication. A lovely holiday!

  • "Great accomodation."

Comfortable and clean. The only confusion is I thought I booked directly through Sykes cottages, but received confirmation of the booking via booking.com. They said if I had any enquiries then send an email to the link, which I did, but no response. I called Sykes in the end as didn't know how to access the property. The staff member was very helpful, however I just think it needs to be clearer on the website who you are booking with.

  • "A great little base for exploring the area."

All mod cons. Reasonable-sized fridge, which helped with our on-line food order which we booked for the evening of our arrival (although delivery driver had to call to find us!). Very friendly and helpful owners. The twin (bunk bed) room was a bit small for 2 teenage boys, but they slept well enough. The only real concern we had was that we couldn't leave the window open in that room at nights because it seemed too easy for someone to lean in and open the door.
