“Pebble Lodge is nice and clean and ...”

Pebble Lodge is nice and clean and whilst we were there a new washing machine was delivered. The cooker was very clean and so was the utensils. The Lodge didn't smell of dogs even thought dogs were allowed to stay. Unfortunately there was quite a big comfort problem. The beds were so uncomfortable, the springs in the mattress was most "unforgiving" and after two nights my back felt quite sore due to the unforgiving springs. To compensate for this I used the spare duvet's and placed them over the mattress. Fortunately there was only two people staying at the Lodge therefore we were able to use the spare duvets to make the beds more comfortable. Apart from the very cheap and uncomfortable beds the rest of the Lodge was quite nice. The Lodge is situated in a nice quite location and being completely fenced in all around it makes it very safe for dogs and children. The owner provided washing up liquid, washing tablets and there was a dishwasher and the tablets for the dishwasher was also provided. The facilities on the site - hmmmm The staff in the shop were very rude and the club/pub was hardly ever open. However, we found the facilities in the village very good. The locals were very friendly and made us feel very welcome. The shop was well stocked and the staff was really helpful. The local pub served food and it was good value. The fish and chip shop is a must!!! So is the local Bakery. When we left I did inform the owner that the mattress springs were very "harsh" and she said she would replace them. We will wait and see, but one of the beds had a board underneath the mattress - my opinion is that the beds need replacing with quality beds and mattress's - but this is only "my" opinion. I would like to stress that apart from the mattress the rest of the Lodge was excellent and whilst the staff at the "on site" shop were unfriendly and rude the actual facilities (that we used) were very good - in the main we only used the dog exercising area and this was clean, well kept and completely enclosed and safe. My dogs loved it. **** OWNER RESPONSE**** Thank you for your feedback, I am pleased to advise we have now replaced the mattress with a brand new mattress. Kind regards,
