"A cosy cottage for a short stay."
The house was very cold the first day we were there, it takes a while to warm it up (we stayed the week of the beast from the East!) but the provided hot water bottles helped. Once warmed up, it was much cosier. Everything else was fine, although we missed a washing machine. Tip: The holiday camp behind the church has a laundrette!

"Enjoyed our stay, the owners had decorated it nicely for Christmas."
Pity the hot tub could not be used due to the hose pipe ban, we understand this was unavoidable. Also the wood burner in the kitchen, listed in the information, could not be used and looked like it had not been useable for some time. The wood burner in the lounge worked well.

"This was a lovely, comfy and spacious holiday cottage."
The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was beautiful with a large bath and powerful shower over the bath. There was everything you could possibly need in the kitchen (oven gloves and tea towels were provided) which had a microwave, oven, kettle, toaster, dishwasher and small fridge with an "ice box" (very small freezer compartment). There was also a table and chairs in the kitchen. The garden was large with a wood-fired hot tub. A point to consider is that it took approximately 2 hours to heat the water for the hot tub. The garden also has a table and chairs and a washing line. The views from the cottage are amazing and we saw some stunning sunsets. It's ideally situated to visit many places in Cornwall and Polzeath beach (where daughter learnt to surf at the fabulous "Surf's Up" surf school) is only a 10-15 minutes drive away. The parking space outside the cottage was too small for our estate car and so we had to park at the side of the road. It would be ok for a smaller car. Julie and Phil were excellent, friendly hosts who were there very quickly if we needed them. We loved staying in this cottage and hope to return in the future.

"We had a fabulous stay at Menefreda Cottage and we hope to return again."
The cottage is so lovely and the perfect base for exploring north Cornwall. We highly recommend Polzeath and Daymer Bay beaches which are both less than 10 minutes away by car. The Pityme Inn is a family friendly pub for good food and only a 20 minute walk from the cottage. The cottage itself is well looked after, clean, comfy beds and with everything you need in the kitchen for cooking. Our little girl loved the smallest bedroom for her toys to sleep in!
The owners, Julie & Phil, are so welcoming and helpful. They are the nicest people! We look forward to our return visit!

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Menefreda cottages, the location is perfect for exploring the coast both north of st Minver such as Tintagel and Port Isaac , the Camel estuary and then to the south there are more splendid beaches and coves."
The South west coast path is easily accessible from the cottage. There are all home comforts , with gorgeous views across fields to the sea. Our hosts were most welcoming and helpful.

"We travelled to Cornwall to meet up with family and wanted somewhere local to Bodmin that was cosy but with modern conveniences and this is what we found."
The cottage was lovely and in easy reach of many places if interest...could have done with a bigger towel each as we are not the smallest if folk, but would no to bring our own next time .
Only slight disappointment was no scones on arrival which other guests had rated....but we did have logs and kindling to get us going so no complaints.. (we also found the tea garden on the Camel trail which does a superb cream tea....would recommend). Thank you for a lovely stay..Dave and Jo x

"This proper is beautiful inside and out with it’s amazing views and homely feel."
The owners were welcoming and friendly.
My only recommendation would be a larger bin/bins to recycle and dispose of rubbish also you are missing a spatular in your cooking utensil collection. We would recommend this to others and would definitely stay again.

"This is a lovely, old fashioned, cottage, in a very peaceful location yet close to beaches, pubs and shops."
Julie and Phil, the owners, live next door and are always ready to assist whilst being discreet and respecting privacy. The cottage looks even better in reality. The master bedroom is very large and the bed extremely comfortable. Curtains, like most places in England, are very thin so you may want to take a sleeping mask or bring a portable blackout curtain if this is an issue for you. The hot tub works by putting wood in a stove. It can take about 2 hours to reach a comfortable temperature. Wood is provided for one use but more can be purchased from the owners. The view from the garden is beautiful and very relaxing. There are many activities to do in the area. The Camel Trail is highly recommended. Also horse riding and coasteering or kayaking. The Pityme pub, a few minutes from the cottage, is a nice place too. We had a great stay and would not hesitate to go back.
