  • "4 adults and 2 dogs had a wonderful stay at Cedar lodge, it was well equipped and lovely surroundings, so peaceful and relaxing but not to far to travel for days out."

Jan was very helpful with ideas for things to do and the lovely victoria sponge, fresh scones with clotted cream and jam was a lovely touch on arrival. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

  • "Cedar Lodge was a superb property."

It was comfortable, spacious, the kitchen was very well equipped and the owners (who live next door) were friendly and knowledgeable. Our dogs loved the freedom of the large enclosed garden too. Eden Project, Lost Gardens of Heligan, Looe, Polperro, Fowey were all visited while we stayed and were all within easy reach. It’s a highly recommended from me!

  • "Excellent facilities and spotlessly clean."

Wonderful Victoria sponge cake, scones and clotted cream on arrival. Returned to holiday accommodation one day to find uninvited strangers inside our accommodation with all our personal and private possessions inside. Apparently the property is for sale and this was an estate agent showing prospective purchasers around. They left the property without a word of explanation. We have received two apologies from the owner. Surely if a property is ‘For Sale’ it should not be rented out! What would have happened if they broke something and did not report it to the owner? Would Cornish Cottage Holidays have made a claim against us or our insurance? How many times were prospective purchasers shown around that we did not see? If you are paying nearly a £1,000 for a week’s holiday in September I feel you have every right to feel badly let down. Sadly, we never felt comfortable in the property again after what we witnessed.

  • "Cedar lodge was by far the most lovely holiday accommodation that we have ever stayed in."

The furnishings were very tasteful and comfortable for all. It was just perfect, with fantastic facilities in a truly beautiful setting in the countryside. We honestly could not have wished for anything better! It had an “away from it all” feel about it. You definitely need a car to stay here but my word you won’t be disappointed! Upon arrival we were welcomed with the most amazing home made scones (complete with clotted cream and jam) and a delicious fresh cream Victoria Sandwich - this all went down a treat for sure. This place is just delightful and I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again! The facilities were outstanding, with all the kitchen utensils and crockery you could ever wish for! Our dog had his first holiday here so now has high expectations for every future holiday! He had a superb time with all of the gardens and countryside on his doorstep! The garden was beautiful and we were all very sad to have to go home after our week long holiday.

. On arrival there was a homemade Victoria Sandwich cake and a basket of homemade scones to welcome us including jam and clotted cream plus milk and teabags. Such a lovely touch. Loads of places to visit locally. The owner lives next door there if needed but not intrusive. Fountain of knowledge of places to visit. Highly recommend Cedar Lodge. Dogs loved the enclosed garden.

  • "It’s in a lovely part of the world."

The view from the open plan living room was stunning. The owners live next door and were welcoming but gave us space. The property wasn’t really as described, the listing didn’t mention or show the steps within the property which made it difficult for my older mum and children. The furniture wasn’t very comfortable or layed out in a way that made it useable. Some of the outdoor furniture and decking was dated and the wood was soft. There were no views from bed rooms and one of the rooms had a damp problem. The single track road to the property from the main road was over a mile long and not maintained. As this was a family holiday we came in a people carrier and found it very difficult to access and leave without damage or significant stress. Although we won’t return, we can see it’s a lovely place for adults with a small car who might like walking or want a quiet retreat.

Thank you for your review. The cottage is a barn conversion and has been converted in the most sympathetic way, only using window openings where they have always been. The garden furniture is only two years old but due to our location is subject to extreme weather at certain times of the year. I shall look into the damp problem which you have mentioned, thank you for drawing my attention to it. Unfortunately, highway maintenance is not high on Cornwall Council’s agenda. Roadside hedgerows cannot, by law, be trimmed before 1st September, and this is to protect nesting birds (which we advocate). Property Owner

Tucked away in the countryside its a perfect get away where tranquility and sunrises sooth the soul . Despite bad weather all week I've not felt so relaxed in a long time and slept like a log. Our 2 dogs loved the secure garden which is BIG and enjoyed saying hello the chips the owners dog. We were also lucky to have use of a large field to let the boys run. Everything you need us in the barn including a small freezer which is great and not provided often. Whilst Looe is relatively easy to get to by car, it is not close. Indeed the correct postal address of the property is LISKEARD not Looe as the owner represents. To manipulate the address in this way is close to misrepresentation. That said the owner is charming, it is a lovely property.

Thank you for your feedback and for bringing this to our attention. We really appreciate it. Unfortunately, the nearest town was wrongly entered by the letting agent. This has now been corrected. The shortest distance is actually nine miles on very narrow roads and thirteen on major roads. However, the journey to the cottage is well rewarded as this is one of the nicest cottages we have stayed in.

Thank you for taking the time to complete your feedback following your recent stay at Cedar Cottage.
