  • "A delightful property set in lovely grounds with stunning scenery."

. On arrival there was a homemade Victoria Sandwich cake and a basket of homemade scones to welcome us including jam and clotted cream plus milk and teabags. Such a lovely touch. Loads of places to visit locally. The owner lives next door there if needed but not intrusive. Fountain of knowledge of places to visit. Highly recommend Cedar Lodge. Dogs loved the enclosed garden.

The accommodation was first class, very clean, cosy and very well equipped. The enclosed garden was brilliant for our 2 dogs, being fully enclosed. An added pleasure was the daily visit from the owners dog who wanted to play with our dogs. The views from the property were fantastic and the quiet was total, unbelievable. • "It’s in a lovely part of the world."

The view from the open plan living room was stunning. The owners live next door and were welcoming but gave us space. The property wasn’t really as described, the listing didn’t mention or show the steps within the property which made it difficult for my older mum and children. The furniture wasn’t very comfortable or layed out in a way that made it useable. Some of the outdoor furniture and decking was dated and the wood was soft. There were no views from bed rooms and one of the rooms had a damp problem. The single track road to the property from the main road was over a mile long and not maintained. As this was a family holiday we came in a people carrier and found it very difficult to access and leave without damage or significant stress. Although we won’t return, we can see it’s a lovely place for adults with a small car who might like walking or want a quiet retreat.

Thank you for your review. The cottage is a barn conversion and has been converted in the most sympathetic way, only using window openings where they have always been. The garden furniture is only two years old but due to our location is subject to extreme weather at certain times of the year. I shall look into the damp problem which you have mentioned, thank you for drawing my attention to it. Unfortunately, highway maintenance is not high on Cornwall Council’s agenda. Roadside hedgerows cannot, by law, be trimmed before 1st September, and this is to protect nesting birds (which we advocate). Property Owner

There are stunning views from the property whatever the weather. We loved watching all of the birds which included robins from the lounge, and also when we were eating at the table. The owners Jan and Ray are so welcoming and are available if you have any questions during your stay. We visited Looe a few times and also spent a day in Falmouth. Having spent Christmas at Cedar Lodge, we would love to return in Spring or Summer.

Tucked away in the countryside its a perfect get away where tranquility and sunrises sooth the soul . Despite bad weather all week I've not felt so relaxed in a long time and slept like a log. Our 2 dogs loved the secure garden which is BIG and enjoyed saying hello the chips the owners dog. We were also lucky to have use of a large field to let the boys run. Everything you need us in the barn including a small freezer which is great and not provided often. Plenty to do nearby, looe, polperro, Eden project, siblyback lake and the North coast for port isaac, Boscastle is only an hour away. We loved our stay and would highly recommend.

The location of the barn has been great for us to explore both the north and south coast. Fully equipped with all the home comforts. Jan & Ray’s enthusiasm to accommodate the children with the pony daily routine has really helped the usual end to a day heading home from the beach. • "This property is near to LISKEARD not Looe."

Whilst Looe is relatively easy to get to by car, it is not close. Indeed the correct postal address of the property is LISKEARD not Looe as the owner represents. To manipulate the address in this way is close to misrepresentation. That said the owner is charming, it is a lovely property.

Thank you for your feedback and for bringing this to our attention. We really appreciate it. Unfortunately, the nearest town was wrongly entered by the letting agent. This has now been corrected. The shortest distance is actually nine miles on very narrow roads and thirteen on major roads. However, the journey to the cottage is well rewarded as this is one of the nicest cottages we have stayed in.

Thank you for taking the time to complete your feedback following your recent stay at Cedar Cottage. The cottage is stated as being 3 miles from shops, pubs and restaurants, Looe, however, is the coast being 10 miles away. We hope this is clear to reassure any future guests.
