  • "What a wonderful stay we had at Rogues Retreat."

    The house was the perfect base for us. Upon arrival it was beautifully clean and the little welcome to pack was gratefully received after a long journey. It really was a perfect location with Tintagel a mere 2 mins walk away in one direction and about 10 mins walk in the other direction, a beautiful walk on the coastal path awaited. The house itself is tastefully decorated with everything you need in the kitchen and the beds were so comfortable. If I could add anything it would be some curtains or blackout blinds in the bedrooms - the streetlight outside the main bedroom was really bright even with the blinds closed. We will definitely look to book again if we decide to come back to this area. Thank you for lending us your beautiful house. It made for a wonderful holiday.

  • "Overall the property was a lovely house to stay in and I would consider coming back, good location and lots of nice touches added."

    However the general cleanliness of the house was a little disappointing- carpet (mainly the living room) was covered in dog hairs when we arrived so I had to hoover before I could put my toddler down to play, the hall carpet was also really dirty where the runner kept moving, skirting boards all dusty, bathroom floors not mopped very well and just lots of surfaces with dust on. This isn’t what I expected considering the price we paid for the property. Also to note that you will need to bring your own toilet roll, dishcloths, binbags, dishwasher tablets and any cleaning products you may need to wipe the sides down etc. I hadn’t realised this based on the listing. The property is really close to the shops and Tintagel has lots of options to eat as well. The beach at Tintagel is closed currently which was a little disappointing as we didn’t realise this, however there is a really lovely beach 2/3 miles away at Trebarwith Strand which is well worth a visit. Final point to consider- great that baby products (stairgate, high chair) etc are included however I would strongly recommend bringing your own travel cot as the mattress on the one provided is really hard (like cardboard!) for a baby to sleep on. Overall a nice property to stay in for a week.

We have had much positive feedback with regards to the cleanliness of the house over the past year, with some guests calling it a “home from home”. However, we will double check in future to ensure that the lounge carpet and skirting boards are absolutely spotless. If, and when, you do return, please note that we do include an emergency contact number, so that any problems or niggles such as these can be quickly rectified.   • "A lovely house, very close to Tintagel High Street."

    The beds were very comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped. Only request would be for better storage for clothes in bedrooms 2 and 3, as there was nowhere to hang clothes. A great location for visiting many beauty spots.

  • "Great property with good facilities (washer, drier, dishwasher, tv with good selection channels, parking)."

    Clean house with lovely decking area to relax in sun. Very short walk into Tintagel and shops, pubs etc as well as Castle. Coastal walks nearby too. Short drive to local beach and close to other tourist visits such as Port Isaac, Boscastle and St Nectans Glen and Waterfall. Weather was great. Children had a fantastic week.

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday here and were welcomed with Cornish biscuits, tea, coffee, sugar and fresh milk in the fridge."

    The house was spotlessly clean with a modern and fresh vibe throughout. The kitchen facilities were generally good, especially the white goods. We could have done with a bread knife though. There were 5 adults staying in the house during our break and there was mainly enough space, although the kitchen diner and patio set only had 4 chairs/ stools. Overall, we’d definitely recommend staying here: the house is very good and a perfect location to relax and plenty to do in the area. The walks and scenery are superb. If you do have any queries Ben, is very responsive. It’s worth booking!

We have now bought a bread knife and two more kitchen stools! The patio set does in fact seat 8, but it is not obvious at first glance, so we will highlight this in our 'Welcome Literature' for future guests. When the set is not in use, the 4 chairs tuck under the table and 4 stools , cleverly, tuck under the chairs. Cushions for each seat are stored under the stairs. We have also now added 2 collapsible occasional patio chairs. Thank you for mentioning Ben. He has been so helpful with all queries and is super efficient! The property

Perched on the rugged North Cornish coast, in close proximity to the beautiful beaches, is the white-washed, semi-detached Rogues' Retreat․ This beautifully-appointed property has been renovated into a stylish and contemporary holiday home for both families and friends alike.

Park up outside, breathe in the fresh sea-air as you unload your luggage to begin your adventure at the exquisite coast of Cornwall․ Step inside to the spacious hallway, kick off your shoes and discover the convenient cloakroom to freshen up after your journey.

Step through to the open-plan living area, boasting a bright and airy sitting room with two sofas where you can relax and unwind of an evening before the TV, which includes free access to Sky and Netflix․ Dinner can be prepared in the sleek kitchen; cook up a storm in the electric oven and take advantage of the amply-equipped cupboards, housing all of the essential amenities.

Settle down around the elegant dining table to tuck into a heart-warming meal, toasting a glass of fizz to a wonderful escape to the coast with your family․ After dinner, enjoy a refreshing glass of wine in the rear garden, where your canine companions can stretch their legs on the decking as you take in the glorious Cornish sunset.

Nearby, discover the path leading to Glebe Cliff and St Materiana's Church․ Enjoy a breathtaking walk along the coastal path.

When you return to the dwelling, head upstairs to indulge in a leisurely soak amongst bubbles in the bath, or rinse off your sandy feet with the use of the overhead shower.

Once you've prepared for bed, choose between either of the two double rooms (of which one has a king sized bed)to drift off to a night's embrace, or snuggle up in the twin room, with two good-sized singles suitable for both adults and children․ In the morning, enjoy breakfast together in the kitchen, which has extra dining seating; here you can plan the day ahead over a steaming cup of coffee.

Get to know your surroundings and head into the nearby village of Tintagel (2 minutes walk from the front door),steeped in history with its magnificent castle and offering an array of amenities, including well-stocked shops for local produce and traditional pubs and restaurants, many being dog friendly․ Spend the day at the bustling market town of Wadebridge for a host of delicious eateries, independent cafes and fancy boutiques to rummage around: Wadebridge is also home to the fantastic Camel trail, the ideal place for a walk or a cycle.

The picturesque village of Port Isaac (of Doc Martin and Fishermen's Friends fame) is just 25 minutes drive away․ If you are a keen surfer, Trebarwith Strand is a few minutes away in the car or can be accessed via the coastal walk․ The Port William pub overlooks the bay and is dog friendly․ The hugely popular Polzeath surfing beach is just 30 minutes away․ If you are a keen Walker, discover St Nectan's Glen and Rocky Valley with a stunning waterfall and beautiful babbling streams, approximately 1 mile away․ Boscastle, with its ancient and pretty harbour can be accessed via the coastal walk at the back of the house.

Tintagel, home of the legendary King Arthur’s Castle, whose ruins dominate the cliffside just outside the village, is a popular but not overcrowded tourist destination. The surrounding area is dominated by the sea, rocky coves and stunning scenery. Several beaches, including nearby Trebarwith Strand and Bossiney Cove, are within easy reach and surfing is the main attraction for those who love the water. Tintagel has several pubs and restaurants and the Old Post Office (National Trust) is a must. For the energetic, the SW Coast Path passes through the village and in both directions it winds its way along the cliffs and down to the water’s edge through dramatic countryside. Head north along the path and in 2.5 miles is the beautiful village of Boscastle with its quaint quay and village pubs for refreshment. Further afield are the surfing meccas of Newquay and Bude, with their resort attractions, while the open spaces of Bodmin Moor, the Eden Project, Padstow and the Camel Estuary are all within a 40-minute drive.
