Had a bit of trouble with locking the front door sometimes, but otherwise perfect. Would gladly book again. Barrie & Anne

  • "This is such a beautiful cottage!"

Thank you for the lovely welcome - it set us up for a fantastic stay. We had everything that we needed for our holiday and it felt as though thought had gone into ensuring this. The location is so handy as it’s right in Tintagel, the views are beautiful and the rooms are charming. The new dehumidifier does a great job of keeping the cottage fresh. We’d definitely love to return!

Thank you so so much for such wonderful feedback - we’re so grateful. It’d be a pleasure to welcome you back Property Owner

  • "Excellent location and stunning views from the balcony."

Facilities in the cottage were great and the kitchen is well stocked. We did have a problem of no hot water for 24 hours but this was resolved for us and did not have any impact on how enjoyable our stay was at the Blue House. Lots of shops, pubs and restaurants in walking distance, really cannot fault the location. Just a couple of points for the owners to look at: The toilet seat in the main bathroom was very loose. The flush on the upstairs toilet is not working very well. The balcony rail is a little wobbly, might need to look at that. Nothing that didn’t stop us having a lovely stay at the Blue House.

Thank you so much for your feedback and point to note. These have been picked up and actioned. Thank you Property Owner

OVEN DISHES ARE IN SUCH A STATE WE COULD NOT USE THEM AND NEED REPLACING ! BATHROOMS - BOTH TOILET BRUSHES WERE IN A DISGIUSTING STATE ,SHOULD OF BEEN CHECKED BY CLEANER AND NO TOILET ROOL HOLDER IN MAIN BATHROOM. ON STRIPPING THE BED IN BEDROOM( NEXT TO BATHROOM) ON DAY OF LEAVING WAS SHOCKED TO FIND VERY LARGE STAIN/STAINS ON THE DUVET , WE FOUND THIS UNACCEPTABLE.

Thank you so much for this feedback. We have taken this up with the cleaning and maintenance team. We really appreciate your feedback! The bedding and toilet brushes have been replaced and new items have been purchased for the kitchen. Property Owner

And the smell of the damp was quite strong,we had the dehumidifier on all the time and it collected a great amount of water.you could do wit getting a new frying pan

Thank you so much for your feedback! We’ll get the new frying pan and look into the other areas now too. We appreciate you taking the time to message. Property Owner

when i got to the property parking was a probelm, a neighbour was very rude to me,, I WILL NOT BE GOING BACK

Thank you for your comments. We’re sorry that you’ve had this experience - we would have really appreciated any feedback using the contact details in your welcome email as, we could have resolved this as it was happening. Now that we’re aware of this today, we have a plumber booked for this afternoon to check the concerns you raised with the plumbing. **EDIT** The plumber has been and the tap/water/boiler issue has been resolved. • "The Blue House was fine overall but lacked some of the home comforts we’ve been used to in other holidays cottages we’ve visited over the years."

Namely, no space or useful places in the bedrooms or bathroom to put toiletries and belongings. Also, the house had an odd smell when we went in which we deduced was a smell of damp. In addition, there was no prior warning that builders and diggers would be digging immediately outside the property every day of our holiday - even Good Friday and Easter Saturday. This made enjoying a rest or lie-in rather difficult. Tintagel is lovely but we won’t return to this particular property.

Thank you so much for your feedback, we’ve taken note of your points re the creature comforts. We’re sorry that you had this with the builders - they’d assured us that they wouldn’t be working over this period - now we know this, we’ll take it up with them. We appreciate your comments and would ask that if you ever had any concerns to get in touch with us at the time so that we could rectify it. Thanks again for staying with us. Property Owner

  • "Property was well located for us as we love walking."

Scenery was beautiful and weather was great for March, lucky us! Inside of property could do with some updating and was fairly clean. Shame about the building work which was noisy and dusty when we chose to sit on the balcony. Would recommend permanently relocating the settee to be in front of the table and chairs as we banged our heads on the beams a couple of times. Downstairs smelt musty and damp despite the bathroom fan and us opening the windows. Had issue with hot water in shower a couple of mornings, not sure why as we understood the boiler being similar to one we have at home? All in all, we enjoyed our stay and thank you for sharing it with us.

Thank you so much for your feedback! We’re hoping that the builder will have the retaining wall up very soon. - we’ll chase this. We’ve taken on board your other comments and will certainly look into them - thank you! Property Owner

  • "The water pressure is very poor."

If a toilet is flushed there is no water flow out of the taps for over 60 seconds. Plus the shower is therefore very weak. Otherwise everything else was great and we would recommend the property and location to others.

  • "The cottage was comfortable and convenient being right on the doorstep of Tintagel."

The cottage is well equipped and the balcony was great as you could see the sea in the distance. The cottage has two comfortable double beds and some twin beds were did not need. The feel was homely and it had some good touches which made you feel comfortable and looked after. I would consider a return visit as it is located in a beautiful part of England

  • "The weather this year (2018) in Cornwall certainly made a huge difference."

However, the Blue House was clean, with good facilities and very comfortable. We enjoyed eating out on the veranda looking out to the coast. The local property manager was very helpful and organised cleaning and bedding changes with us. Everything you want from a holiday cottage. Tintagel was a good base with small supermarkets, restaurants and takeaway food at hand and there are plenty of walks you can do from the cottage, we visited the tidal beach at Trebarwith which is lovely.

  • "This is a good cottage in the perfect location within Tintagel - very central but also away from "street noise"."

As others have said it is a little smaller than expected and the living space would be very cramped if fully occupied, but was good for two! The table has to be moved to sit at and then moved again to see the TV. As others have also said the WiFi is excellent and we were glad that we brought a laptop with us for iPlayer etc. as the TV reception was poor and failed during our stay. The owners arranged for a repair very swiftly when we contacted them though. It was good to have cleaning and washing products (washing-up liquid, dishwasher tablets etc.) provided. And there aren't two bathrooms Sykes - only one plus an upstairs toilet.

  • "Tintagel is very hussle and bussle during the day, but at night very quiet."

There is only room for 1 car (which was stated in the details) but to help people out with 2 cars (rather than chasing round for change to pay at a NCP carpark which is unsecured), the field next to the cottage charges £10 for the week if you pay the farmer who owns the King Arthur museum up the road. We were told about this from a neighbour next to the blue house

  • "Lovely property, altho a little smaller than expected."

Great contact from the owners. Amazing location, and great kitchen facilities. Awesome wifi, got the thumbs up from our teenager! Even better would be a proper washing line (not under the balcony) as I couldn't get clothes dry, and some seating in the garden downstairs would have been really good too.

About the location

TINTAGEL

Camelford 5.9 miles; Wadebridge 13 miles.

Tintagel, home of the legendary King Arthur’s Castle, whose ruins dominate the cliffside just outside the village, is a popular but not overcrowded tourist destination. The surrounding area is dominated by the sea, rocky coves and stunning scenery. Several beaches, including nearby Trebarwith Strand and Bossiney Cove, are within easy reach and surfing is the main attraction for those who love the water. Tintagel has several pubs and restaurants and the Old Post Office (National Trust) is a must. For the energetic, the South West Coast Path passes through the village and in both directions it winds its way along the cliffs and down to the water’s edge through dramatic countryside. Head north along the path and within a short distance is the beautiful village of Boscastle with its quaint quay and village pubs for refreshment. Further afield are the surfing meccas of Newquay and Bude, with their resort attractions, while the open spaces of Bodmin Moor, the Eden Project, Padstow, Camel Estuary and Port Isaac are all within a short but scenic drive.
