  • "Lovely property, clean, comfortable and extremely well equipped."

The site is ideal with lots of facilities and activities. Hayle is beautiful and has wonderful beaches and views. We had a fantastic week.

  • "Comfortable enough, light and spacious."

The beds were uncomfortable though and there was no washing line. The Wi-fi was poor. In the middle of our stay we had someone coming to change the beds and towels, Nigel; he called me to advice, in an accusatory manner, that one of the towels was missing (he later found it in one of the bedrooms); he also advised that we had damaged the key safe, (we hadn’t, and we recorded a video opening it, which we sent to him); he later came round and managed to use the key safe himself as well. This was inefficient and petty and left a bad after taste in our second week.

  • "The accomodation was nice and comfortable, clean on arrival and in a great location for days out in the area."

The fact that they allow up to three dogs was exactly what we needed and we had enough space for all of us. The entertainment on site was good to keep the kids entertained and gave us something to do once the little one had gone to sleep, with one of us staying behind. The only things i could fault it for that were a little disappointing was the wifi in the accomodation was available but had no internet access, and the downstairs toilet seat seemed to move around after each use. We managed without the wifi as it meant less time with screens and spending more time with eachother, but would have been useful for banking apps etc.

  • "Amazing stay especially as I booked last minute as our previous accommodation was cancelled."

The beds are very comfy, believe they are memory foam. The only issue is the WiFi. It is none existent and I found it very hard for log into work emails. Although on the flip side, it was nice to switch off from the outside world.

  • "Many thanks to the owner of 50 Trevithick Court and to Sykes Holiday Cottages."

The accommodation was excellent in every respect, from modern fittings and appliances to very comfortable beds. The property was nicely decorated in a modern style and spotlessly clean. Wi fi was a very welcome facility that came in useful researching places to visit. We did use the tv occasionally but did not use the on site facilities as we were to tired after our daily excursions. Highlights of of our holiday were visits to Carbis Bay beach, Mousehole and Lands End. We enjoyed staying at this cottage and will return. Tony Gambier

Absolutely perfect accommodation / the kids moaned about the wifi or lack of it most days but that was a good thing for me ;) So the only tidy negative is wifi coverage but that’s digging deep for a negative highly recommended and we will return next year hopefully

Comfortable accommodation for all our family

  • "Had a few issues with bathroom taps, internet and shower blockage on arrival, which were all dealt with but was a little inconvenient to say the least."

When internet reinstated not very good connection at all. Also one family member got locked in bathroom on first night, so couldn’t lock door after that. Was reported but not fixed.

  • "The location of the cottage is really good but the cottage itself is not a preferred one."

It seems it went through a recent renovation and it wasn't done properly. While we are there, there was a electricity cut and the complete home was without electricity for almost 5-6 hours that too in the morning. We checked with the facilities there and it wasn't there responsibility to fix it. So I need to call the customer support of CornishCottageHolidays and they need to contact the owner of the property. You can understand that pain while you are in a holiday. Finally, the person who did the renovation to the property turned up and he found there is a water leak happening from the new upstairs bathroom and it's dropping off into the ground floor bathroom ceiling light. It's a problem in the water valves and he fixed temporarily, suggested not to use the upstairs bathroom. So we end up using only one bathroom. As there is no power, can't use kitchen as well, as it is a electric one. It was completely a night mare and not happy at all, that too having kids it's really difficult to gothrough this kind of issues in a holiday. Really upset with this and definitely not a recommended one.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. I can see that there was a maintenance visit arranged within minutes of you reporting the issue and we are pleased to see this was swiftly resolved. You were advised against using the upstairs shower for one evening of your stay. Property Owner

About the location

HAYLE

St Ives 6.3 miles; Penzance 7.4 miles.

Hayle is in the far-flung south western corner of Cornwall and sits on an important RSPB wildlife estuary flowing out to the beautiful St Ives Bay, where visitors can enjoy three miles of golden sandy beaches, walks, history and wildlife. Hayle has plenty of activities out of the water too; Paradise Park is a wildlife park, home to some spectacular parrots, otters and red pandas. Hayle has a range of shops, restaurants and bars scattered around the estuary and harbour area. There are skittles and karting for the family, and for golfers, one of the best links golf courses in Cornwall is at Lelant, a mile out of Hayle. But the jewel of Hayle is the three miles of golden sandy beach, with fantastic surfing at Gwithian where there is a surf shop, lessons and hire of equipment. For the less energetic there are beach cafes where you can take in the views and watch the children play. As Hayle is centrally located you can easily access many other places by either public transport (there is a train station at Hayle) or driving. St. Ives is a short drive away where you can wander through the narrow streets, visit the art galleries or admire the colourful sub tropical gardens. St Ives harbour has its own small fishing fleet and there are plentiful boat trips skippered by locals keen to showcase the best that Cornwall has to offer, whether it be seal watching at Seal Island, a couple of hours' mackerel fishing or a relaxing trip to Godrevy Lighthouse. Within easy reach of Hayle is the Minack Theatre (35 mins), Falmouth Maritime Museum (40 mins), Eden Project (40 mins), St. Michael’s Mount (15 mins) and many other fantastic tourist attractions for dry or wet days.
