  • "We had an absolutely fabulous weekend at the cottage!"

It’s beautiful, perfect location, and the views from the back are unbelievable…felt like a bit of paradise. Facilities were brilliant, and bed comfy!! The only downside was was a slight smell of damp, but given the type and age of the cottage that’s acceptable! We’re considering coming back for a winter break, it would be perfect with the log burner and to just watch the world go by from the sun room.

Thank you for your feedback. We are so glad to hear that you enjoyed your time away and we appreciate you making us aware of the damp. We will pass this onto the owner and hope to welcome you again one day in the future. Best wishes, Manor Cottages. Property Owner

  • "We loved the views from the cottage, however on day two, the shower head dropped off and hit me on the head."

Someone came out to look at it but needed to order a new part and so did a temporary fix with sealant and tape. We were told we could still use the shower but after using it we found we had sealant in our hair and on our skin. We called them out again and they did something else to the temporary fix and were told the new part should be fitted on Friday (after we left). As a result we didn’t feel we could really use the shower, especially for our little boy and had to spend time on our holiday trying to get it fixed.

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with feedback on your stay at Greeb Rocks. We can only apologise for the issues that you encountered with the shower head during your stay. The shower has now been repaired and we hope that we can welcome you again one day in the future. Best wishes, Manor Cottages. Property Owner

Michael's Mount & the sea...on our arrival we were welcomed with a cream tea which was a lovely gesture & much enjoyed after a long journey... the fresh flowers were also a nice thought... The bed, including the pillows ( which can be a bug bear) was so comfortable..with no issues in having a good night sleep... On arrival the weather was sunny & warm, it didn't last & the rest of the week was wet, windy & cold... on this note we noticed that the cottage downstairs was a bit chilly at nights... we could not get the underfloor heating in the kitchen to work as we could not get the temperature guage to turn on, which may have solved the chills downstairs.. However, overall we had a lovely week, touring around & will be back again... thank you

The welcome pack had informed us not to change the timer settings on the electric heaters in the bedroom and lounge but both heaters had no timings set. The 'Boost' button was a particular distraction during the night as it illuminated the bedroom in blue light and I was forced to turn the whole unit off and bring the oil heater up from the conservatory. The pilows for the master bed may have once been very good quality but it seems they are now quite past their best. I appreciate that everyone has their own idea of an ideal pillow but we may all agree that the filling should remain underneath our heads rather than migrating to either end of the pillow. The views are absolutely remarkable and the property itself has a wonderful style. During the summer months 'Greeb' would be the perfect getaway.

Wow! What a true Hideaway!! We found the cottage itself just perfect, very clean and well equiped with everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay. The view from the conservatory and upstairs bedroom overlooking St Michael's Mount was amazing. The cream tea and flowers left for our arrival was a lovely touch. The owners have thought of everything. We particularly chose the cottage as our dog was welcome to stay too. Outside is a small patio area but very sufficient space for our time there. For September, we truly had lovely sunny weather and actually didn't use the car once during our stay. Marazion beach was a perfect dog friendly beach (restrictions now don't seem to apply after 31st August, despite some signs saying end of September). Lovely walks along the coastal footpath to both Penzance and also Perranuthnoe. We ate both in the Kings Arms but mainly The Fire Engine Inn, both dog friendly. Would recommend both. A wonderful relaxing stay and would definitely return. Thank you.

On arrival cream tea was a welcome treat. With milk/tea/coffee & flowers a nice touch. Bed was very comfy, next time we would bring my own pillows as the ones supplied were a bit soft for us (but this is only a personal choice). Even on a couple of wet Cornwall days sitting in the conservatory looking at the views was so relaxing. Next bit is just for the owner, I think there's the start of a leak under the shower. a trickle of water is coming from under the tray on the right hand side when the shower is on. There was also a slight leak from the conservatory above the door as you enter the conservatory. Both points in no way effected our stay. Just thought you should know. Kind regards Bob

  • "Lovely cottage, the views are truly amazing, better than the photos."

Really comfortable beds and very clean. Great conservatory and terrace seating, lots of space to relax and easy walk into Marazion. The Fre Engine pub and the Godolphin are great places to eat, and the fish and chip shop! If we could suggest anything to add, it would be that some brief, clear hand written instructions for the Bosch oven and hob would be great. Even with the instructions manuals, it's way too complicated and if you arrive late and need to use the oven, it takes an hour to work it out! A useful tip is, the hob plates don't go red and if you take the pan off, you have to start over! The only other thing is that it is really inconvenient, bthese days not to have a hand held shower in addition to the main one. And lastly, the check out time is a bit early... It is a holiday and to be out by 9, with all the cleaning requirements means you get 6 days, not 7! But it's a great place for a low key escape. Recommend it warmly!

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback and we're delighted you enjoyed your stay at Greeb Rocks Cottage, and particularly the views! Also on Saturday 19th March there was a very heavy storm and water came through the chimney in the conservatory and also came through the doors in the main bedroom, and we had to put a towel in front of the doors to soak up the water.

  • "Lovely little cottage."

Very clean and comfortable with everything that you could need for a holiday and with a sofa now added to the conservatory it was great. Beautiful views (apart from the day we had Cornish Mizzle!) especially from the Juliet balcony in the bedroom. Very comfortable bed. Central for visiting that very southern area of Cornwall, which we love. We had some wonderful entertainment one evening with many helicopters circling, landing and taking off again on St Michaels Mount in preparation for the G7 summit just around in Carbis Bay. With no garden it’s not ideal for a young dog because we had to take her out very early and very late on a lead but when we originally booked for 2020 we had an older dog. At that time, April 2020 and in lockdown, no rebates were being given by Sykes for cancelling for a June holiday so I had to forward my booking to this year. Not complaining about the dog as that was up to us but I am just recommending that it’s not ideal for a young dog who wants to go out a lot. We did manage to find some fields a short walk away. The little patio underneath is really nice reached by wooden steps from conservatory but again not ideal for a young energetic dog or anyone nervous of steps. Marazion is a lovely old village and with Penzance just a mile or two along the road and with all the shops and supermarkets that you could need. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and certainly miss the view now that we are back. We would definitely return one day.

Would have been better to honour it, but then everybody charges for everything nowadays, so that was my very first impression of Hideaways - could potentially be more accommodating for their valued customer, especially if they are to return. First impressions of cottage are it's beautiful and cosy, a nice touch with clotted cream scones and flowers. Bought anthracite for fire as none provided, left some for next holidaymaker to use. Under beds in main bedroom not cleaned very thoroughly (hairballs and dust). Perhaps it would a good idea to provide something to read, ideas of what to do, vouchers, booklets about Cornwall, decent map/s, eating places etc. A 'Please Mind Your Head' notice would be a good idea on the upstairs balcony and French doors to the conservatory. Underfloor heating in kitchen awesome, the kitchen door lets in quite a draft when it's windy outside - perhaps a heavy curtain across might alleviate this. Views awesome. TV good with Sky, which can drop off sometimes (together with telephone signals which are notoriously bad in Cornwall). Sofas are not the most comfortable for 4 people to relax on. The quaintness and charm of the cottage together with the décor and overall cleanliness and views of sea and St Michael's Mount are the things that I would recommend most, together with the log fire. It's a cosy and welcoming cottage with parking included and it is perfect for a short family break.

The cottage was so comfortable and cozy, the sun room and terrace with the amazing views of the sea and St Michael's Mount being the highlights. A perfect spot to watch the many birds in the garden and have a glass of wine in the evening. The cottage was spotlessly clean, with everything you would possibly need in the kitchen to cook a meal. A lovely cream tea and cider were provided on our arrival too, which was much appreciated. We found Marazion itself a really lovely place for a quiet holiday, with plenty of places to eat within walking distance. The Marazion marshes are worth a visit for bird watchers too. There is a regular bus service to Penzance and Nippy taxis, so we were able to get about without a car.

  • "Booked Greeb Rocks as a late booking over New Year 2016/17 for myself, my partner and our small dog."

We couldn't have been happier, from the moment we arrived in Marazion driving along the coast and past the awe inspiring St Michael's Mount, to the moment we opened the cottage door into a warm welcoming kitchen with exceptional cider and homemade mince pies waiting on the table and the decorated Xmas tree in the snug lounge. The cottage was perfectly clean and comfortable and the view out on to the mount is just breathtaking. We didn't have the time to enjoy the garden but it looks wonderful as it leads down to the sea with nothing between the cottage and it. Whilst in Marazion we are at Ben's Cornish Kitchen which is as good as everyone told us it would be. (We'd booked in advance which is a must if you hope to find a table) We found Marazion to be a great base to discover the deep south west but a limited as a destination itself unless you are planning to walk the coastal path or need seclusion. Greeb Rocks Cottage though is perfect, warm cost and yards from the beach. We can't wait to return.
