  • "Castle dore barn is the best holiday accommodation we have ever stayed in."

The barn was extremely clean and the facilities were excellent. Amanda and Colin were amazing hosts. The views were fantastic and we enjoyed seeing the new born calves running around. We will be definitely returning.

  • "Castle Dore Barn was probably one of the best, if not the best holiday cottage we have ever stayed in."

The barn was immaculate, had everything we could possibly need and was surrounded by the most beautiful countryside. The views all around were amazing. Colin and Amanda were extremely friendly and I even had a ride on Colin's tractor! The welcome pack was very generous and included a cream tea, bottle of wine, shortbread biscuits and a beautiful bunch of roses. Colin then came round with some of his produce: eggs, bacon and sausages which were delicious. We were so impressed with our holiday that we have already booked to return next year. Val Filmer

  • "The owners couldn't of done enough for us."

I loved the parking facilities, the kitchen was well stocked and the beds was very comfortable. The barn is positioned perfectly for your trips around Cornwall, nothing was too far away. It was quite at night. I actually felt we got more than what we paid for. We couldn't of asked for more. I would highly recommend the barn to anyone. Thank you to the owners for letting us stay in your barn.

The situation was perfect, - views, peace and comfort. There was everything we needed and the hosts were friendly and approachable but never intrusive. That the weather was glorious was a bonus, but we would have enjoyed staying here had it been raining!

Amongst the wonderful landscape of the South Cornish coast this spacious barn conversion is set near a small, quiet farm, surrounded by fields and woodlands and near to the historical harbour town of Fowey.

Perfect for those seeking a peaceful haven, the property has a reverse layout with two lovely, bright bedrooms, one having the benefit of an en-suite shower room and the other housing zip and link beds, and a bathroom on the ground floor.

Upstairs there is a beautifully presented open plan living area and as you step out onto the balcony and take that deep breath, you will feel immediately relaxed and content.

Perfectly located for enjoying some lovely walks, cycle trails and exploring Cornwall’s attractions including The Eden Project.

Set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the town of Fowey boasts a beautiful estuary where the harbour is a magnet for sailing fans.

Walk through the narrowing streets of the old town where there is a stream of medieval and Georgian buildings and browse in the quirky gift shops and art galleries.

There are many bistros, cafes and restaurants to choose from offering plenty of local produce and plenty of seafood choice including the River Fowey mussels.

Pop into the charmingly old fashioned, Fowey Aquarium where you can get up close at the petting pool or take the ferry across the harbour to Polruan where you can visit the spectacular cliff-side Headland Garden and indulge in a cream tea.

The idyllic village of Golant is nearby where you can take a trip up the river or lose a few hours resting at a riverside pub.

There are many pretty coves with sandy beaches nearby such as Lantic Bay and Ready Money Cove with the town of St Austell within easy driving distance.

A perfect countryside retreat with so much to explore in the area.
