  • "The property is exactly as described, plenty of facilities and clean."

Just a couple of comments that should be mentioned. No signal on any of the TVs. Had the weather been bad this could have caused issues having 4 young children in our party. Reported to agent 2 or 3 times without any joy. On contacting the agent we were told on each occasion that he or someone else would be with us, no one arrived. We were told we could always use iPlayer, it appears we couldn’t sign in to live TV, or so I’m told. The issue above wasn’t major, just annoying that no one showed up when they said they would. Please try topping up the kettle through the lid when it’s just been boiled. The Smeg kettle didn’t work, also reported, no joy.

  • "Woodlands is a great location from which we were able to easily visit a variety of places ."

The house was very comfortable and spacious . The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we could possibly need for eight people . The hot tub was a real bonus . We loved it . We felt however , that some thought is required to tidy the gym / garage area before guests arrive as it didn’t look inviting .

  • "This is a lovely house, very well equipped and lots of space for the 7 of us."

Walkable into Padstow in around 20/30 mins. Several indoor seating areas give everyone space to spread out, and the table football and pool are great fun. Hot tub was enjoyed - it did take a while to warm up as it's emptied during visitors - so be patient for it to warm up. Tom was on hand by text and quickly replied to tell us what to do. All in all a great stay for my sister's 60th celebrations. So lucky to have really warm sunshine the whole weekend! The Cornish Arms along the road is a definite must for a visit.

  • "We had a wonderful week in house all ten of us only minor issues such as taller people hitting head on sloping ceiling in upstairs rooms."

Only could find 7 forks so meal times meant some inventiveness as far as cutlery. Overall everything else was excellent especially hot tub in cold and wet weather and well equipped games/gym room

  • "The house is superb, is fully equipped and is very close to Padstow."

The only downside is that it made us realise how small our own house is when we returned home! The masses of space really spoiled us!! Great house and a great service from Sykes Cottages.

  • "Back from a fantastic week away the house was amazing just as described struggled to get the TVs to work in the downstairs bedrooms not that we watched a lot of TV."

Pool table air hockey table tennis and football table available were very good House well equipped with games and books and in the garage plenty things you can borrow if you need to, wet suits body boards paddling pool pram bucket and spades beach tent and lots more. 2 washers and a drier available as well as iron and ironing board. There was a strong/strange smell in the hallway/garage. Hot tub and garden lovely and used a lot No child gate on top of steps (holes in wall as though they should be) emailed and messaged couple questions while there (about remotes for tv and cutlery we couldnt find we did eventually secret drawer in a drawer) didnt get reply but managed. Would highly reccoment this house for a big family excellent location also 2 adjacent properties thay could be booked if you have a lot of people. Location very near Padstow and we loved Harlyn beach both few minutes drive away We were very lucky with weather had full sun every day. THANK YOU for a lovely stay will highly reccommend and would love to.come back some day.

  • "Our family consisted of 8 adults and a dog and we had a fabulous stay."

We knew the house was going to be lovely but it was even more impressive in real life. The master bedroom, dressing area, ensuite and terrace were all amazing with so much space. Given the top quality furnishings throughout - the sun-loungers on the private terrace could do with upgrading. The kitchen/family room was again very spacious and great for relaxing with the dog. It was really well stocked with mountains of plates, bowls, glasses, cutlery etc and huge pans suitable for cooking for 8 adults. A couple more easy chairs would have been nice as this is where we tended to gather to play our games etc (as we had a dog). Although we didn't use it much, the pet free lounge was very inviting. The utility room, wet room and dog room with stable door were fab. This house is immaculate and the best dog friendly accommodation we have ever stayed in with no 'doggy' smells. The outside area was lovely with great views and the hot tub was a huge hit with all the family. Lots of comfortable garden seating and sturdy picnic table but a bit snug for 8 adults. With having a young energetic dog, we felt that the perimeter fence could have been more secure - but we understand that with the size of the garden this is a large job. We were surprised to see that Prysken had been rented out despite the website saying that it wouldn't - our dog escaped twice as Prysken had left both their outside gates open. The house is ideally situated to visit Padstow, Trevone, Harlyn and Constantine beaches and we made use of the bodyboards, surfboards and wetsuits provided. We would definitely recommend the house and the surrounding area for a fabulous holiday.

  • "We had a great stay at Woodlands - the property was even more spacious than the photos suggested and it was incredibly well equipped."

It was very refreshing to stay in a property that had an abundance of kitchen equipment rather than the bare minimum that can usually be found in holiday rentals. The house was very clean on arrival, beds very comfy and plenty of space for the family to spread out without feeling on top of each other. We’d like to thank the owners for allowing guests to use their beach equipment - we made use of the bodyboards & wetsuits. The property manager (Tom) was also very responsive when had a couple of questions. We love the Padstow area and would love to stay here should we visit again. Thank you!

Thanks so much for your lovely feedback - we are glad that you have been able to enjoy the property and surrounding areas so much. Our manager Tom is great and his team take great pride in providing a perfect handover. Delighted you were able to make use of some of the beach equipment too! Please do come again! Property Owner

  • "Great position near Padstow and several beaches."

Lovely & spacious accommodation with plenty of room for all. A small thing which would enhance the experience..... could do with a couple of new chairs on the balcony (not a deal breaker). Lots of water toys, surf & paddle boards were available to us along with bikes and more which made the vacation that much more enjoyable. An excellent property which made our family of 9 and dogs feel that we could have spent the whole summer there. We would definitely recommend and hopefully return.

Thanks for taking the trouble to leave such lovely feedback - it really helps! We’ll certainly look at upgrading the chairs on the balcony. It’s not an area we particularly use much ourselves so thanks for your constructive feedback We are glad you had such a lovely holiday and would be keen to welcome you back! Property Owner

  • "Great find - look no further!"

We were lucky enough to book Woodlands Close over the New Year and we weren't disappointed! In fact I would say the photos, whilst are good, do not do the property full justice and we were pleasantly surprised at the size of the place! Also location is great for Padstow and you can easily walk back with only a short stretch being without pavement. Owners/house keepers incredibly responsive and the whole place is very well equipped. Would highly recommend and return.

Thank you for your lovely review. Its always nice to welcome guests who enjoy and appreciate the house. Thanks for the advice on the photos, we will aim to upload some more to do the property justice. Its well over 3000 square feet, so plenty of space for everyone! We would love to welcome you back in the summer. Property Owner

  • "We loved staying here - a great home with two families sharing with plenty of space to spread out but also cosy enough to get together at meal times and enjoying an evening of games or watching TV."

Our two families will definitely be booking again. So convenient for Padstow and the surrounding area.

Really pleased that you experienced how the property enables two or three families to come together in a beautiful house. If you need even more space in the future, please remember that we offer a discount for taking the other two linked properties, Gwedhen and Prysken at the same time and we have now added a hot tub, pool table and table football for the kids. • "Isn’t walking distance from beach, walks include main roads."

The garden should be separate from the other properties.

Many thanks for taking the trouble to provide feed back. We are glad that you were pleased by the comfort, cleanliness and facilities but sorry about your feelings regarding the accuracy of the listing regarding proximity to the beach. The position of the property is clearly and accurately shown on the Sykes map. We and most of our guests find it the perfect balance between walking into padstow (15 mins downhill) and short drives to 7 great beaches (less than 5 mins drive to Harlyn and Trevone). It is also possible to walk to Trevone beach (and our guests and ourselves regularly do - it’s a 25 minute walk mainly across farm tracks with great views) but probably not best for young children/buggies due to the short 200m stretch on the Padstow road. But we take on board your feedback and we have revised the listing to clarify this for future guests as well as making it clear that the main garden is only for the use of guests of the large woodlands property. Boasting a marvellous contemporary interior and comfortably sleeping ten, Woodlands Close is an idyllic base for your next group celebration to this delightful part of the country. Ample off-road parking greets you upon arrival, leading you along the pathway and over the threshold, into a light and airy open-plan living space, beautifully-appointed with wooden flooring and a rustic woodburning stove, complimented by the stylish design of the contemporary kitchen. Share a bottle of wine with the chef at the breakfast bar as they rustle up some tasty treats, gathering your loved ones around the grand dining table to serve, or if you're lucky enough to experience the warmer weather, step outside to the patio where you can indulge in a spot of alfresco dining with far reaching views across the surrounding farmland. Settle in for the evening with a seat on the sumptuous sofas in the separate living room for a movie marathon, enveloping the room with the warmth of the woodburning stove, or split up and enjoy a spot of television with the girls in the open-plan sociable space. Prepare for bed with an invigorating rinse in the spacious walk-in shower, conveniently located on the ground-floor, ideal for guests with limited mobility, before resting your head in either of the two neighbouring bedrooms, with the choice between a snug twin (converted on advance request to a superking), or a charming double, benefiting from it's own en-suite. Climb the stairs where you'll find two additional bedrooms, a beautifully-presented double along with a fabulous superking master suite, boasting a contemporary en-suite bathroom and stylish walk-in wardrobe as well as access to a private terrace, where you can enjoy an intimate escape with your significant other under the canopy of the stars before bed. Gwedhen may be booked separately by other guests, having its own separate area of garden and decking.

Taking all three properties ensures exclusive use of the entire property for those desiring complete privacy for larger groups.

We are pleased to offer a 50 percent discount on the Gwedhen price (subject to availability) for any party taking all three properties (offer must be requested within 7 days of the original Woodlands Close booking).
