  • "Overall we had a lovely stay at Hazelhurst."

    The cottage was well equipped and in a good location. The bedding was of good quality but it was a shame that duvet covers and towels were not provided as we are used to that on every other property we have booked. On arrival there was quite a strong cooking smell and also quite musty especially in the downstairs loo. The kitchen surfaces and sink were not as clean as I would have liked and I ended up cleaning it. The sink desperately needs a new plug as the current one is stained and looks very old. Some of the items in the cupboards were dirty as was the kettle. As it is see through you could see that the base is very discoloured. The shower upstairs was excellent and looked quite new. The beds were comfy and there was plenty of hanging space. As mentioned in previous reviews the lounge is looking a bit tired and the sofas were not comfortable. It would benefit from some larger cosier sofas and new furniture. The TV is also quite small for the size of the room. The outside space was lovely and very well presented and there was ample parking space. The property was lovely and quiet and the heating was great. We would visit again but wanted to point out some of these areas to provide constructive criticism for the owner/letting company.

  • "Excellent overall."

    The only black marks would be the chairs and sofas in the sitting room. These are quite low and not at all supportive or comfortable - ideally they would be refurbished or replaced. Also the kitchen has an induction hob but although well stocked with various pots and pans we could only find a couple which were compatible with the new hob. So maybe add one or two news pans and donate the rest? As I said we found Hazelhurst overall to be an excellent base for our holiday and none of the points above was serious enough to spoil our enjoyment.

  • "Lovely property, very well equipped and everything you could ask for in the kitchen."

    A great location for exploring the area on a quiet estate. Two suggestions would be; changing the shower as it has a very low pressure flow to the point of a trickle sometimes and upgrading the lounge seating, as sofas were dated and uncomfortable. These didn't affect our stay however, and we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday

  • "We had a lovely wk at the cottage."

    Lovely area nice and quiet. House was clean and well maintained. Only thing that let’s it’s down was the shower and the sofas was uncomfortable.

  • "I always love staying at Hazelhurst."

    This is my 5-6 visit. I contacted John Bray Cornish holidays to mention that the shower was very poor. They came back to me and said they would send an engineer out. They then told me the engineer had visited and the shower is was no different. Like I said before I love staying at Hazelhurst. I am booked for September and have some friends staying with us so 4 people sharing a shower. I do not want to sound like a moaner. But cost is £900 ish in Sep so please a shower that works. So basically my concern is not with owners it is with the Letting agents!

    Thankyou for your feedback. We did send an engineer to inspect the issue and a fix was put in place. Sadly this didn't last very long. We are getting onto this issue ASAP with the plumber who installed it and this will be rectified.   • "To find a property with parking for 2 cars and a huge sun trap garden was amazing."

  • "Great holiday in Hazelhurst, would recommend this property and plan to use it again."

    Lovely level garden, ideal for little ones, lots of toys for little children. Good location for Rock, Polzeath, Wadebridge, Padstow, easy commute to other parts of Cornwall. We found the beds to be comfortable, and furnishings appropriate for the property. The seating in the lounge was adequate, but not the most comfortable of seating. The whole house was well equipped, all in all a great property to rent.

  • "Good location, 1."

    5 mile walk into Rock & ferry to Padstow. Comfy beds, plenty of kitchen crockery & utensils, parking for 2 cars. Found lounge furniture a little too low, but we have still rebooked for 2 weeks in September.

  • "Hazelhurst was a home from home and had everything we needed and more, plus some things in multiples."

    We were actually there two weeks as our friends booked a week, then we booked the week before and part overlapped/shared (after making sure all covid safe - as best you can). Thank you.

The property

Hazelhurst is an inviting, detached holiday home, ideally located within walking distance of the heart of Rock, in the peaceful hamlet of Tredrizzick in North Cornwall.

Ideal for large families, sleeping up to seven guests, Hazelhurst is complete with a sunny, enclosed garden, offering peace of mind for parents with small children, whilst there is private parking for two cars, plus additional off-road parking for convenience.

The living spaces compromise of a well-equipped kitchen with dining area, where guests can prepare and enjoy meals, and a homely sitting room, complete with plush sofas and a delightful, open fire.

The master bedroom features a lovely king-size bed, whilst the additional bedrooms include a twin, a bunk room, and a single bedroom; all are serviced by a bathroom and cloakroom.

Families will appreciate the excellent value of Hazelhurst and the proximity to the surfing beaches of Polzeath, the calm beauty of Daymer Bay, and the many activities that the glorious Camel Estuary can offer; all conveniently located within a short car journey.

At the end of a busy day, the sheltered rear garden offers the perfect spot for an impromptu family supper, or head to The Pityme Inn pub, a short walk away from Hazelhurst.

Tredrizzick lies equidistant between the rolling waves of Polzeath and the sailing hub of Rock.

If you need to stock up on supplies in nearby Rock you'll find a butcher, baker, and a fishmonger, and even a delicatessen and a Spar shop.

A hop in the car will lead you to the lovely town of Wadebridge where there is a choice of small independent shops and three supermarkets, or if you’d like a day off from the beach, catch a new film release at the wonderful, classic Wadebridge Regal cinema.

Rock is a desirable and much sought after coastal village located on the north eastern bank of the River Camel opposite the famous harbour town of Padstow which is easily reached by a regular ferry service. The summer home of royalty and celebrities offering top class restaurants and quality shops, the real draw is the array of watersports including sailing, water skiing, windsurfing and angling. Continuing on a sporting theme, the golf course at nearby St Enodoc is considered to be one of the best in the country. With an abundance of world class beaches all within a short radius it is easy to see why Rock holds its popularity.
