  • "This property is absolutely perfect, everything has been well thought out and the owners are generous in what they provide, you couldn’t wish for anything more."

The location, views, peacefulness, layout, space and comfort was perfect. We would absolutely stay again, thank you so much. Only small note an earlier check in and a later check out time would have been ideal.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We are so pleased to hear that you found the property comfortable and enjoyed all that it has to offer. We look forward to hopefully welcoming you back again in the future - John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owner. Property Owner

  • "The cottage and furnishings were good quality all round."

It was comfortable, especially the beds! However, the 3rd double was v cramped for 2 adults. The size better suited to single occupancy. Need for more space and chairs at both dining and outside tables to reflect 8 guests. The description said there were 3 bathrooms. We were surprised to find 1 of these was a WC only. The top step is very sloppy when wet. Although we brought dishwasher tabs, detergent and toilet rolls etc etc we felt more hand soap should have been provided. Good property for a holiday but for 6or 7 persons max

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We are pleased you enjoyed your stay at Hill Cottage even though you found the 3rd double to be cramped. While there are 3 bathrooms listed, the summary does describe one of these as a cloakroom with a WC but we are sorry for any confusion caused. We do hope that we get the opportunity to welcome you back to Cornwall in the future. John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owner. Property Owner

  • "We really enjoyed Hill Cottage."

It was very clean throughout and well appointed. The standard of decor and furniture was appreciated too. Thank you. The weather was awful, so we appreciated the kitchen and lounge areas, plus the large TV. The utility area was great too, as well as the large entrance area and sunroom. This all helped with 4 adults and 3 young children coming in from the beach, and the weather, with wet things. Having 2 fridges really helped too. We were lucky to have the en suite bedroom. One other double was adequate, but the other bedrooms were small and suitable for children or young people. They all shared one bathroom, which again might be less attractive these days. From JB’s perspective, the cottage was advertised as ‘Rock’, which turned out to be 1.8 miles away, which was a car journey with 3 children. We thought we’d be able to walk straight into Rock. That was a disappointment. Otherwise, all correspondence was timely and very efficient. Thank you.

Thank you so much for your feedback. We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay and would love to welcome you back anytime in the future. Our apologies that you were not made aware of the distance from the cottage to Rock, we will aim to get this cleared up on the website. - John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owner. • "The only disappointment was we had, was we had no electricity for the whole day on the 19th."

June. Therefore had to go to restaurants for our meals. Turned out to be a very expensive. We were notified that would be a brief power cut .

Thank you for your comments, unfortunately the power cut was beyond our control as it was a SWEB issue. We hope this didn't impair on your enjoyment and we can look forward to welcoming you back to Cornwall very soon. John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owner. Property Owner

  • "We had a wonderful holiday in this lovely cottage."

The cottage is beautifully furnished with plenty of space for six adults and two small children. Everything was as we anticipated from the photos and description. The only irritation which I would mention is that before we travelled I did ask John Bray if the owner could provide a travel cot, whether there was a stairgate and if there was a bbq we could use. They said they would check with the owner, I then got a message back saying they could not provide a travel cot, there was no stairgate and there was no bbq, however, we could use a disposable one if we wanted. We were therefore very surprised when we read in the owners' information pack at the cottage, that there was in fact a travel cot and stairgate under the stairs and the owner would welcome us using the bbq which was provided in the garden. It was therefore a bit annoying that we had been given the wrong information and brought our own travel cot unnecessarily. I hope that the fact these items are at the cottage will be communicated to future guests.

Hello Linda There would seem to be an unfortunate lack of communication on this occasion and we are so sorry that you did not receive the correct information. Had we been contacted we could have confirmed the cottage did in fact have all of the items you had asked about. We are though so pleased you enjoyed your stay at the cottage and hope to welcome you again in the future Best wishes Sandie and John Property Owner

  • "Hill Cottage was exactly what we needed for our trip!"

Perfect location and facilities for 2 families. It was so homely and cosy. The garden was beautiful and we loved seeing the cows from our windows! The welcome bottle of fizz was a lovely touch. We contacted the owners prior to our stay regarding whether there was a travel cot available. They went out of their way to provide one which was much appreciated. It’s such a beautiful holiday home, it absolutely exceeded our expectations. We cannot wait to stay here again. Thank you!!!

Hi Andrew We are so pleased you found the cottage homely and cosy our aim was that it should be home from home. • "A wonderful holiday cottage enjoyed by our family of 7."

Homely, very clean, well equipped and in a peaceful setting with a lovely garden- much enjoyed by us all especially with the visiting and resident wild life. All facilities and decor exceeded our expectations and the only recommendation we would suggest is the availability of a folder including useful general information on the cottage e.g. recycling and refuse system/ collection, heating/hot water, oven operation (we had to Google!), local shops, doctors etc We hope to revisit and would like to thank the owners for providing such a lovely holiday home -albeit for just a week!

Hello Pam Many thanks for the kind feedback. We are very new to hosting and your feedback is very helpful. We are so pleased you found our cottage a home from home as that was our aim. A great tip to provide an information pack and we will be working on this. Thank you and hope to welcome you and your family to Hill Cottage again Property Owner
