  • "A real home from home, very clean and comfortable."

The owners were nearby and always available for any help or information needed. Young children will be fascinated by life on the farm especially if they are lucky enough to sit in the tractor and see the cows being milked. There was a lovely welcome pack when we arrived which was very much appreciated. All in all a great holiday which we throughly enjoyed.

  • "Yes where are the pics to show that you are basically in with the cows, can't spend time outside due to fly's and the smell of cow manure and can't open the windows due to fly's and the smell of cow poo!"

Very misleading and would of drove straight back if it hadn't of been for my little one.

  • "Seeing that this cottage was on a working farm was a draw for us, nothing was too much trouble for the farm owners they were happy to talk to us about the farm and if we needed anything they were happy to help."

The cottage its self t was within walking distance of a great pub and a home made pie shop in the village of Manaccan. Also it was a 10 minute drive to that all important Cornish Pasty Farm, stopped there on the way to the beach at Kennack sands, and ate them still warm for lunch.

The property

This well presented two bedroom bungalow is less than one mile from Manaccan and situated on a working farm.

A glorious countryside setting which is perfectly situated to explore the fabulous surrounding countryside, up to four guests will have a real chance to get away from it all in the tranquillity of the area.

The well equipped kitchen leads into the sitting room with a wood burning stove.

A conservatory on the back of the property houses the dining room and there is also a utility room for muddy boots and wet coats.

The two bedrooms are of a generous size and share a shower room.

The enclosed lawned garden is huge and there is a terrace with table and chairs perfect for a relaxing evening drink.

Manaccan offers local facilities including post office/stores, 16th Century Inn and a cafe/bistro.

Standing alone from the rest of the County, the Lizard peninsula is perhaps Cornwall's best kept secret.

Designated an area of outstanding natural beauty, the locality is rural and unspoilt and the landscape remains largely unchanged as the years pass by.

The rugged scenery is interspersed with beautiful coves, hidden creeks, thatched cottages and colourful fishing boats and on the nearest beach at Gillan Cove (under 2 miles away) there is a high chance you will be the only visitors.

The picture postcard village of Helford which sits sleepily on the banks of the river is home to a sailing club and a pub on the waterfront from where you can hop on a boat to explore the northern banks of the river.

Mandalay is a perfect retreat to embrace the surrounding countryside as well as a base to explore the delights of Cornwall.

About the location

MANACCAN

Helston 10 miles ; Helford 1.5 miles ; Porthallow 3 miles

The village of Manaccan on the South Helford is small and friendly, with an excellent restaurant, friendly village inn and a beautiful 12th century church. The South Helford is arguably one of the most beautiful and unspoilt parts of Cornwall. With meandering country roads, picturesque creeks, tidal inlets and pretty waterside villages, the area can be summed up in three words: tranquil, charming and timeless. The perfect spot for enjoying outdoor living, the South Helford’s sheltered coves were made for messing around on the water and strolling leisurely along the banks. Leave your ‘phone behind and embrace the simple pleasures - while away time paddling in the shallows, explore hidden coves with a hire boat from St Anthony, and stroll through woodland to enjoy a picnic on the beach.
