  • "Sunnywell is a lovely well maintained cosy cottage."

We stayed Christmas week 2023, Jill provided a Christmas tree and flowers everything was perfect for our Christmas. Would definitely recommend a stay in this lovely cottage.

The Barn was splendid and, as others have commented previously, the beds were extremely comfortable-- quite rare in our experience of holiday lettings. Really very desirable and we would thoroughly recommend.

  • "The property is exceptional, it is the most well equipped cottage that we have stayed in, with every item spotlessly clean and appears to be brand new."

The cottage is brilliant for two couples as both bedrooms and bathrooms are super comfy with plenty of space - no arguing over who gets the best bedroom! There are also tables and chairs outside for eating / relaxing and numerous games, plenty of fun. We had a great welcome from Jill with a cream tea, jam first! Even before we arrived she was so helpful with ideas for local restaurants for a special birthday. I can't praise the owners or this property enough, brilliant and thank you.

We were made very welcome by Host Jill who checked we were happy with everything and said any problems just contact her. The great area to stay in as you could explore all the different coasts very easily being that Bodmin is so central in Cornwall. We loved it so much we will go back again

  • "There were a couple of small things that would have made our stay better, hand towel in the kitchen, waste bins in the bedrooms as well as in the bathroom."

Our friends did find a dirty sock under one of the cupboards in the bedroom. Also we have never been asked to strip the beds and put the towels in a laundry bag at other holiday stays, so were surprised by this request. We stayed with friends and we were both confused by the owners directions, so perhaps a small map might help.

Thank you for your review. We welcome all feedback as we are constantly striving to give our visitors the best possible stay that they can have, and, over the years, people have mentioned lots of things that we would never have thought of. It is obviously upsetting when a group have not enjoyed their stay as much as they could have. We would like to address some of your points: We are utterly devastated that you found a sock under the bedside table and apologise for this. When we were able to re-open in July 2020, we have to completely change our cleaning regime, we took lots of advice and one of the things that we were advised to do was to ask our guests to put their used, towels, bath mats and bedding into a laundry bag. We are sorry that you did not like being asked and will look at the wording on the label on the box of chocolates that we put with the laundry bags requesting this. With regard to the directions, we will look at producing a map, thank you for the idea. We have also just started sending our guests the link to the what3words app for the property that they are staying in. We are sorry that you didn’t tell us while you were here about the things that you felt were missing from the property, we could so easily have dropped down extra bins and told you where the kitchen towels were. Thank you for the points that you have raised. Take care. Property Owner

  • "A great cottage which was cosy and warm, with comfortable beds and high quality bedding."

Very well equipped and having the utility room with washer, tumble drier, freezer and table tennis was an added bonus. The children loved the games (indoor and out) and the good wifi. Powerful showers and a huge bath. The location is excellent with easy access to north and south coasts, and just off the A30 for going further into Cornwall, yet so quiet with gorgeous views. Ample parking too, right outside the front door. The cream tea on arrival was a lovely touch! We hope to return!

Thank you for your great feedback. It was lovely to meet you all and we look forward to hopefully welcoming you back in the future. Take Care Property Owner

  • "We loved this property."

Jill was very welcoming and informative (thank you for the cream tea on arrival and chocs on departure!). The property is comfortable and warm in a lovely quiet situation but not far from all the amenities of Bodmin. The main road was handy to go north, south, east or west. Couldn't fault the facilities of the property - two bathrooms (always handy!) and, in the utility building, a washing machine, tumble dryer and freezer. Small table tennis table (very tricky!) and Swingball (great fun). Thank you Jill and family for a fantastic stay.

The cottage had everything you could need and more. Very clean and comfortable, the utility building was especially useful for boards and wetsuits. Also the lovely welcome and departing gifts were very much appreciated. It’s in a great location, very quite surrounded by countryside but close to Bodmin. There’s loads to explore within 30mins drive. Lanhydrock house (5-10mins) and Eden Project (20mins) are both worth visiting. Crantock beach is one of the best we’ve ever been too.

The owners were lovely and the cream tea on arrival was a lovely touch. Everything was very clean and the layout of the cottage was perfect. The cottage is in a lovely remote location, which means you feel away from it all and relaxed but is only a 10 min drive to the main costal road , so a perfect base to explore from. We would recommend it and we would definitely stay here again.

A wonderful barn conversion built with a great deal of thought and care. The upstairs living area gives light and great views. Plenty of space in and around the cottage with good safe parking. The utility building was great for a game of table tennis and drying clothes. We will bring bikes next time as we now know they can be stored safely. We got a warm welcome from Jill and a kind send off from her son Richard who apologised for a few wet days with a bottle of wine. We highly recommend a stay and will come back next year. Lovely to meet Jill and Richard and we hope Dave gets well soon.
