  • "A lovely place to stay with all things needed for us and the dog"

  • "We have stayed in Treknow many times but this was our first stay in Heatherdale."

Location is perfect - stunning views and a quick walk to the coast path. The house is really comfy and well-equipped, especially the kitchen. Best dog-friendly place we've stayed, with a large and properly enclosed back garden. Having a tumble drier was a luxury which was very helpful when it was too wet to dry outside, and the outhouse was so handy for storing beach stuff and wetsuits. It really felt like a home away from home, and on the odd rainy day we were content to light the log burner and play games by the fire, watching the fog roll in from the sea. Thank you.

The Out-house is really useful for hanging wetsuits, just would benefit from a little TLC. But didn't distract from a great holiday.

Thanks so much. We are actually having the outhouse refurbished in September! Property Owner

Kitchen utensils galore, lovely crockery, glasses and saucepans. Games and books and painting things, binoculars, body boards, washing machine and tumble dryer. Two pubs with good food only a few minutes walk away as well as the excellent Coffee Cup van on the road to Trebarwith beach for coffee and fantastic home made cakes. Just a few yards to the network of local footpaths for walks to Tintagel, Bossiney and further afield. The parking space is a real bonus.

Amazing location to explore the coast and great walks from the door and quickly on the coast path. Immaculately clean, very comfortable and everything you could need. Great places to eat nearby or to sit outside and enjoy the sun traps (we had great weather) at the front and rear of the property. We wish we'd booked two weeks!

  • "Yes. The cottage is lovely although the bathroom could do with an upgrade."

The shower and bath are pretty worn. The cleanliness and welcome touches were good as always. We do have an issue with Sykes however. This is the 3rd year we've booked with Sykes, for the same cottage - but have not been given a loyalty discount in years 2 and 3. Most holiday companies offer discounts to loyal customers. Disappointing that Sykes have not provided the same.

Remember to check the out house as we bought body boards before we realised they had plenty in there that you could borrow. The location was amazing and a short walk to the beach which had an amazing sunset which was perfect, It also is a walk to King Arthur’s castle too along the cliff and the view we fantastic we even had the luck to see sea lions/ diploma . The beds were extremely comfortable… the view from the property was fabulous. We will definitely return to this amazing location, fabulous area and quaint property. Rainbow left a gorgeous message with nice treats which was really welcoming and a great start to a lovely break. Thank you selina

It was cosy, tastefully furnished and generously equipped with everything we needed from books to crockery to beautifully scented soap and diffusers. Fantastic location and so well equipped! Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend! The garden was enclosed which was great for our dog and children when we weren’t exploring the area. It’s a house with so much personality, they have books, games as well as body boards, buckets and spades. The kitchen has everything you could need too! It was exceptionally clean. It’s the best holiday home we’ve every stayed in! The 15-20 minute walk down to Trebarwith Strand through a field and a little wooded area is delightful, there is a pub, also very nice, and a shop selling beach bits and bobs including very good ice cream. We would highly recommend a walk to Tintagel along the South West Coast Path from Trebarwith Strand, it’s about 2.4 miles and a little hilly but the views are outstanding. We can’t wait to come back!

We enjoyed every minute. The owners of the property had gone to great lengths to provide everything possible needed for a great holiday. Their attention to detail was second to none,From books to read, DVDs, jigsaws, games, washing facilities and even a torch to go exploring and binoculars to see the wonderful view ! We were welcomed into a cosy warm home with all the information we needed provided in a well organised folder. Even a box with leaflets on places to visit. Their visitors book was full of warmth and praise from previous happy holidaymakers and of course us !!! The house is set in a beautiful quiet village with stunning views and the gardens are private and beautifully kept. There is nothing negative to be said !!! We would happily return one day soon! About the location

TREKNOW

Boscastle 4.9 miles; Padstow 19.9 miles

This small village and civil parish lies on the north coast of Cornwall in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, some four miles north-west of Camelford. It boasts a slate quarrying history and was also once home to a small copper mine in the latter years of the 18th century. It has a village hall and small hotel, yet there is plenty to see and do in the surrounding area, which is dominated by glistening waters, rocky coves and spectacular scenery each way you turn. Tintagel, home of the legendary King Arthur’s Castle, is merely a stone's throw away, a popular but not overcrowded tourist destination. Several beaches, including nearby Trebarwith Strand and Bossiney Cove, are within easy reach and surfing is the main attraction for those who love the water. It is littered with pubs and restaurants and the Old Post Office (National Trust) is a must for any visitor. The South West Coast Path passes through the village and in both directions, it winds its way along the cliffs, down to the water’s edge through dramatic countryside. Head north along the path and in 2.5 miles is the pretty village of Boscastle with its narrow valley leading down towards the raging sea. Further afield are the surfing meccas of Newquay and Bude. The vast landscapes of Bodmin Moor, the largest indoor rainforest at the Eden Project and the Camel Estuary are all within a 40-minute drive, plus the colourful harbour at Padstow beckons with traditional pubs and delicious seafood.

Please Note; Not suitable for people with limited mobility, as steeply sloping, front garden, please take care, torch advisable due to limited lighting from back garden.
