  • "Heightly House was a great location for an autumn stay in Cornwall."

Very well equipped for cooking from home, and comfortable for family stay. Clean and very nicely prepared for us to make the most of the holiday.

  • "Very homely, with everything you need while you're away."

Nice touches to make it a little more special.

    Miss BowdenSep 2021

  • "Great location, best equipped kitchen we have had over 20 years - except why can we never get a non-stick frying pan?"

Holiday breakfast fried eggs with bacon are a must-have! We wanted for nothing from the property. The walk down to the sea was simple enough - perhaps make this better known in the cottage info (unless I missed it) and would certainly advocate walking up to the coast path and watch the sun set on the horizon over the sea. Simply amazing.

  • "We return annually, which speaks for itself, we love everything about the place."

...1st time we visited though and there were no waves! may have to rebook again to catch some surf!

Ideal location for walking to pub or town .

  • "Heightley House is certainly one of the best if not the best property we have ever holidayed in."

It was very well equipped, very clean and comfortable. The whole house was warm and welcoming the background heating and hot towel rail in the bathroom was much appreciated.I can't say anything was missing on the equipment front even Bonnie our Border Terrier was well catered for. The shower was wonderful, towels luxurious and the beds very comfortable.Even the neighbours were very friendly. We enjoyed the food at the Millhouse Inn and the Port William. We also visited all our usual haunts Padstow, Polzeath,Tintagel etc etc all within easy reach of the house. The peace and quiet of the houses position was much appreciated and the views were magnificent. Even the weather was kind to us. All in all a most wonderful relaxing holiday. I would love to know more of the history of the house it's origins, who it was built for ec Thank you Regards Maggie ,

  • "Lovely house, warm and comfortable."

Well equipped kitchen and comfy beds. Few minutes walk down a foot path to beach, there are a couple of stiles to climb over but our 3 year managed it easily. The beach is sandy with lots of rock pools and a couple of caves. Great for children and good body boarding/surfing opportunities, but tide dependant. Lots of things to do around and about for trips.

  • "It was a lovely house in a fantastic location."

The house had everything we needed. It was clean and tidy, plenty of towels. Our teenage son loved the bedroom on the top floor, as it had a tv so he could play on his xbox in the evening. We were able to do lots of walking with our dog and loved the Port William pub. We walked into Tintagel a few times from the house, its not far and took around 20 minutes.

  • "A delightful holiday house, which was extremely well equipped and felt like a home away from home."

The location was close to the beach and Tintagel. As long as you are prepared for steps (front and back) and driving through some narrow lanes, you will be rewarded with a Cornish gem.

  • "The house was fantastic, venue was fantastic, weather was a bonus."

Would love to come back some day. Views from the house were fantastic and the walk down to the beach was easy and a must to eat at the Port William Pub, great food good prices.

About the location

Boscastle 4.9 miles; Padstow 19.9 miles

This small village and civil parish lies on the north coast of Cornwall in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, some four miles north-west of Camelford. It boasts a slate quarrying history and was also once home to a small copper mine in the latter years of the 18th century. It has a village hall and small hotel, yet there is plenty to see and do in the surrounding area, which is dominated by glistening waters, rocky coves and spectacular scenery each way you turn. Tintagel, home of the legendary King Arthur’s Castle, is merely a stone's throw away, a popular but not overcrowded tourist destination. Several beaches, including nearby Trebarwith Strand and Bossiney Cove, are within easy reach and surfing is the main attraction for those who love the water. It is littered with pubs and restaurants and the Old Post Office (National Trust) is a must for any visitor. The South West Coast Path passes through the village and in both directions, it winds its way along the cliffs, down to the water’s edge through dramatic countryside. Head north along the path and in 2.5 miles is the pretty village of Boscastle with its narrow valley leading down towards the raging sea. Further afield are the surfing meccas of Newquay and Bude. The vast landscapes of Bodmin Moor, the largest indoor rainforest at the Eden Project and the Camel Estuary are all within a 40-minute drive, plus the colourful harbour at Padstow beckons with traditional pubs and delicious seafood.
