  • "Exceptional."

We had a welcome text and email from the actual owner prior to our arrival thanking us for our booking and letting us know we could arrive early should we wish instead of the advertised PM time on the website which gave us more flexibility especially travelling with a dog which was most thoughtful and kind. We found the cottage very well equipped , clean and homely , indeed it was more akin to leaving our own home and walking into another home not just a holiday rental. On the dining table was a lovely plate of scones and jam with a cake cover and fresh milk in the fridge and clotted cream to accompany scones.. a real Cornish welcome. Clean bedding and comfy beds, clean and easy to use shower and child's play central heating that was warm cosy and simple to use. Very well equipped kitchen with every gadget including a coffee machine . There is a Londis just a five minute walk out of the cottage but it is quite expensive but that is the price of being convenient . Good parking at the cottage in a nominated area. The only minus but obviously a feature of being in a blackspot mobile phones don't have any coverage so you will need to log into the FREE and easy to access WiFi provided by the owners in the welcome book. Then you can use tv, tablets or phones as long as you have whatsapp to use as a phone calling method. The two other things to be aware of ... firstly there is a public car park that is just before the on site cottage parking ... It is free to use in day if you have guests coming to see you but is resident only after 6pm to 9am next day and secondly , being a dog friendly booking as we brought our Patterdale with us , the nearest park from cottage does NOT allow dogs which is clearly signed but just up from the Londis shop as you look right and up quite a steep hill and a short walk past the cub hut and kids park there is a designated dog park for your pooch to run around. Very Very pleased we had 5 nights at the Swallow Cottage. The husband and wife owners are very kind and friendly and we are going to be booking again . Glad my wife has this birthday and wedding anniversary memory to look back on as it was a well needed holiday for us both and a chance for us to see her family and for us to take a break from the every day . Thank you. Faultless . Only sad we had to leave.
