  • "Superb! Spent a week here in November as a hiking base and can't fault it."

Easy to find, parking is easy even for 2 cars, great host and a nice welcome pack on arrival. The cottage itself is really beautiful and extremely well finished, a wonderful place to spend a week away. Short drive to Tintagel and Boscastle for South West Coastal Path hikes, we even did several Bodmin Moor hikes directly from the cottage (Rough Tor and Bronn Wennili are a must if you love hiking) and it was lovely to come back and warm by the wood burner. About 45mins walk to nearest pub, or about 15mins drive, and they do a "spot on" Sunday Lunch. Owner helped us out with some things for the fire and was very quick to supply anything that was missing from the cottage! We would recommend this as an all year round place to stay. Thanks Ilze.

  • "We had an absolutely wonderful week in Manor Farm House!"

The property is beautiful, you feel very at home and have everything you could possibly need. A very warm welcome from the hosts, fantastic directions when we got a little lost, we loved arriving to a tasty treat of scones to kick start our week, family very friendly and always happy to chat and give us a shout if you need anything, not that we had to ask as we had everything we could possibly need and more in the barn. Beautifully decorated, fantastic use of space. We loved the upside down style! The log burner was amazing, we sat in front of it every night watching the flames. Lovely quiet village location. After our first night we were looking at dates to book to return as we absolutely loved staying. We highly recommend a stay at Manor Farm House! We can’t wait to return next year!! Thank you for a wonderful week!

  • "The barn is beautiful, clean and spacious and is a labour of love."

It shows with it's modern kitchen, bathroom and fittings whilst retaining many of its original features and charm. The bathroom is modern and bright and we were provided with a basket full of white towels for the week. We were met with a very warm welcome by Mark and discovered scones, jam and even milk in the fridge - a lovely thought after a long journey. The barn is located in a quiet hamlet only a very short drive away to Camelford which has shops for any essentials, pubs and a small park for children. The barn has a private and enclosed rear garden with a table and chairs set upon a large wooden decking area where you can enjoy a morning tea/coffee while keeping an eye on your pet as they roam around. There is also a BBQ/smoker available, weather permitting of course. Mark was incredibly approachable and friendly and is a genuine guy who made us feel welcome straight away, he is quite knowledgeable about the local area, places to visit and some of it's history and provided some great suggestions (check out Davidstow Military Museum on the doorstep). Overall, we loved the property and the quiet location and the country lanes to walk the dog and enjoyed chatting to one or two locals - highly recommended for a first class, relaxing get away!

  • "We had an amazing stay at the 'upside down house' at Manor House Barn."

The cottage is fantastic, recently renovated into a very welcoming cottage. The bunk room was perfect for our son who loved the steps up to the bunk bed and the little desk in his room. The master room was very comfortable, its advertised as a double but is actually a king size bed, maybe even a queen. The upstairs open plan works brilliantly, the kitchen is very well equipped with high quality items (and the biggest coffee Mocka pot i've ever seen), the door and link to the deck and outside space was great for games and drinks outside when the sun came out. Location is also brilliant - very close to all things Cornwall but a little quieter. Already recommend this spot to friends of ours and will defiantly stay again. Thanks to our hosts, you have done an amazing job renovating this beautiful cottage. Colin, Jo and Felix

Absolutely beautiful in every way. So well thought out with everything you will need for your stay. Built and maintained to a very high standard and so very comfoirtable to stay in. The bed is the most comfortable bed I have slept in! The log burner makes for a very cosy evening and really heats the upper floor. My daughter loved her room too. I can't wait to stay again soon. The owners are very friendly and helpful and discrete. A great location to be based at for exploring this part of Cornwall.

Well equipped with everything you could need and perfect for our family set up with a little one. The location is great to access North Cornwall or day trip and just felt like the best base for our holiday. I am so glad we booked a winter trip with how wonderful and cozy the cottage is. • "The barn house was a really lovely stay, the open plan accommodation was very clean modern and comfy, especially the bed (it’s the best night sleep i’ve had in a rental - so comfy)."

I would highly recommend this barn for your stay. I would have just liked to have seen a few more bits of information in the barn, for example:- * highlights and recommendations of the area for beaches, walks and restaurants, there were a few but it would have been nice to see a bit more. * Instructions for around the house, how to operate the appliances, what to do with recycle and general waste, etc The above did not in any way hinder our stay :).

  • "The property has the perfect balance of modern features whilst retaining the comfort and warmth making it ideal to return to after many busy days."

The owners were non intrusive but on hand when needed, a truly lovely couple who make you feel so welcome and at ease. We encountered some personal difficulties during our stay and the owners went above and beyond to help and support us which made our stay even more special. The upside down arrangement works well, with access to the garden which we made the most of with the dog and our children, a peaceful spot for relaxing. There is ample parking and access to the property which takes the pressure off knowing that you have parking available. Our children loved their bedroom, designed with them in mind they were very happy with l the little details that had been thought about. The bed in the main bedroom, is so comfortable and cosy with high quality linen and towels provided, a luxurious treat. The location of the property is ideal for visiting many towns and there are so many beaches to choose from, our favourite was Trebarwith Strand perfect for body boarding and not too busy. We also loved visiting Bude, Summerleaze Beach and the ice cream shop near the beach is amazing! There are local shops in nearby Camelford, 10 minute drive away. A local Coop, pharmacy and options for eating out or takeaways. Overall a perfect balance of everything!

The garden was lovely, we spent several evenings sitting out on the deck listening to the bird song. Our dog loved running around and exploring. The owners were very friendly, they were there if we needed them but they did not impose. Would definitely stay there again. Be aware that you are staying in the middle of the lovely countryside and you really need a car to get around as little or no public transport.

The barn has been beautifully renovated by the owners, with exceptional attention to detail (it has everything you could need!), and it’s also spotlessly clean. Would highly recommend it to anyone, but especially to families. The children loved the charming bunk bed room and playing in the garden, and we’d all love to go back to explore the stunning area more. It’s perfectly located for exploring the amazing scenery of the North Devon coast, but we also easily drove to the south coast for days out at the Eden Project, Stanton House and Buckland Abbey, so it was a great choice for a half term break. Thank you, Ilze and family, for such a fabulous stay!
