  • "We have just come back from our break at Brook Haven, having had a fantastic holiday."

Such a lovely cottage to stay at. Really nice site too. In terms of location, it is only a short drive to Looe beach (around 10miles) and only a 2 minute drive to Aldi/Morrisons/Costa for any essentials. The town centre is only 5mins away too. The owner was so friendly when we arrived and made sure we had everything we needed - also making sure that we knew to contact her if there were any problems at all. The welcome pack of shortbread and milk was a really nice touch too! The property was spotless. The beds were incredibly comfy too and shower/bathroom facilities were great. The reclining couches were great to sit in at the end of the day and watch TV. It felt like the owners had planned for everything you'd need with this cottage, such as hoover; iron; washing machine; torches (for night-time walking); clothes dryer/pegs etc. The tv had Freeview and a DVD player built-in and there were a selection of DVDs for both adults/kids, along with books/board games - another nice touch. We connected to the WiFi as well during our stay. I'm always a bit wary when booking a holiday online, in case it doesn't live up to expectation, however I would genuinely recommend this property to anybody who is thinking of booking a holiday to Cornwall. We all loved our stay at Brook Haven and wish we could have stayed longer. We will definitely be back again soon. Andy, Helen and Jamie.

Andy, Helen and Jamie, it was a real pleasure to meet you when you arrived and we are incredibly touched by your detailed and glowing recommendation. It is always pleasing to know that our efforts are appreciated and we are delighted you enjoyed your stay at Brook Haven. You are always welcome and we look forward to a possible return. Stay safe and well. Helen, Gillian and Eleanor x Property Owner

  • "As already said in the Guest book, didn’t feel the site was dog friendly, no dog poo bins on site."

The Village Inn not open, looks like it hasn’t been for sometime. Inside of oven and oven tray could have been cleaner.

We are sorry you didn't feel the site was dog friendly. We have no say over the site, only our cottage, but we do have many happy returning guests and their dogs. Rest assured the oven has been thoroughly cleaned. We trust your shoes have arrived back safely to you. Property Owner

  • "Lovely well equipped property on a quiet and peaceful site."

You do need a car as not much in the immediate vacinity. However would recommend as a base if you want to explore. Will definitely stay here again.

Kathryn, thank you for your comments. We definitely agree that Brook Haven is a great base for exploration of this beautiful county of Cornwall. We look forward to the opportunity of welcoming you back. Property Owner

  • "As pet friendly need to enclose a garden off and no street lighting for dark winter nights, didnt advise on site pub was closed for refurbishment, other than that the cottage had everything we required and very peaceful stay."

Thank you for your feedback. We are glad that you enjoyed a peaceful stay and that you had everything that you required. There is outside lighting at the cottage and torches available too. The amenities detail that there is a shared lawn which I'm sure you will agree is beautifully kept by the site owner. The onsite pub was permanently closed at the beginning of the pandemic due to illness. We apologise that this was still advertised in the amenities. Property Owner

  • "This was a lovely cottage with everything we needed plus a lot of nice little touches we hadn’t expected."

It was situated near some woodland, great for our dog’s morning walks, and if you continued after the wood you arrived at a lovely pub, The Crow’s Nest, where unbelievably not only were dogs welcome but you could order their own special dogs dinner. It was also a convenient location for traveling further afield, to Jamaica Inn, the Eden Project and some amazing beaches. We had a great week and hope to be back when possible with our children and grandchildren.

Thank you for such a lovely review. We hope you do make it back with the extended family. Property Owner

  • "Brook Haven is a really welcoming, cosy and warm cottage and has everything needed for a relaxing break."

The owners have obviously given a lot of thought to the comfort of their guests and cleanliness was to a very high standard. We loved the little touches they have made for accompanying pets such as towels, bowls and even a blanket. This is our fourth visit to Rosecraddoc, staying at a different bungalow each time. We found Brook Haven to be the best so far. Well done to the owners.

Thank you so much for the lovely review. We are delighted that Brook Haven was such a hit with you! Property Owner

  • "I HAVE ALREADY FILLED IN THIS QUESTIONNAIRE 10 DAYS AGO , AND I AM STILL WAITING FOR A RESPONSE FROM YOU ."

THE PROPERTY WAS WAS NOT UP TO STANDARD , WE ARRIVED ON THE SATURDAY AND RETURNED HOME FIRST THING TUESDAY MORNING , IT WAS THE WORST HOLIDAY WE HAVE EVER HAD , WE HAVE USED YOU IN THE PAST AND HAVE NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS , THIS PROPERTY WAS'NT FIT FOR PURPOSE .

We understand with reference to your complaint about Sykes not getting in touch with you following your published comments, we can only assume that their resources in these unprecedented times are completely exhausted. We are terribly sorry to see that Brook Haven did not match your expectations. Although you state that the property was not upto standard and that it was unfit for purpose, we were not made aware during the time of your stay that you were unhappy. Many of our guests prior and following your stay have only commented on how much they enjoyed staying at Brook Haven. We have since, checked out the property from your comments and would like to assure yourself and our future guests that there are no existing or ongoing concerns with the property standards. Had you made us aware at the time of your stay that you were unhappy we would have gone above and beyond to put things right. Thank you very much for your comments and for taking the time to let us know your thoughts. Customer feedback is very important to help us continually improve our standards. Property Owner

Clean and quiet, very well equipped, comfortable beds. The only problem was that the fridge wasn't very cold.

  • "Loved this place."

The bungalow is extremely well equipped, clean and quiet. We enjoyed having a dining room for meals and board games. The owner was friendly and approachable via text, quick responses to our questions. The holiday village is extremely peaceful, nice morning walks with the dogs, lovely brook running through the area. The pub wasn’t open but other than that there is nothing else there. Perfect for a quiet retreat, we loved it. Liskeard is a short drive away and is well serviced, a large Morrison’s, Dominoes and other food outlets. I would recommend staying at Brook Haven as a base to explore Cornwall.
