  • "A fantastic property in which 3 of us plus our dog really enjoyed."

The property was exceptionally clean and nicely decorated with virtually everything you could wish for to help the stay so easy. The owners sent us a very comprehensive email with directions, key code and many other helpful hints before our short break as well as leaving us a pint of milk and the most delicious homemade Brownies for us when we arrived. I hope to be returning very soon for a longer break and highly recommend this property.

Hi John, thank you so much for your glowing feedback for Brook Haven. We look forward to your return and promise that we'll do a separate box of treats with your name on!! Property Owner

  • "Another excellent stay at Brook Haven."

This is the third time we have stayed here. The kitchen has been upgraded since our last stay which has improved the accommodation even more. I think if anything could be improved it would be the rubbish disposal. Which I know is beyond the control of the owner, they need to follow the site owner’s decision. As always very relaxing even if the weather was not always in our favour. The lovely baked brownies and get you in pack are always welcome.

Lisa, thank you for your lovely comments. We are delighted you think the kitchen has improved the accommodation. It's very much appreciated when our efforts to make things better for our guests is recognised. We hope you'll be back next year! Property Owner

I felt at home as soon as i arrived. There's everything there you could possibly need. I especially liked the doggy days out book that was personal to the property. Made me feel like dogs were actually welcome rather than just tolerated. Home baked shortbread was also especially welcome after a long drive. Owner is friendly and helpful. We all had a lovely stay!

Claire, we are so pleased you enjoyed your stay and felt at home. That is always our aim. We are glad you like the doggy days out book! We like to keep it up to date and relevant so if you have any suggestions, we'd be grateful. Thank you for you lovely comments, best wishes Helen & Gillian Property Owner

  • "Disappointed the Village Inn is no longer in use as the Inn and changed to another let."

For a dog friendly site, the lack of dog waste bins is a bit unusual. Some really good walks in the area. Excellent information provided regarding the local road closure due to water upgrades.

Thank you for your feedback and the lovely comments in our guest book about the bungalow. Our online details no longer advertise the Village Inn as it has been closed now for several years. I wonder if you'd visited previously. Yes it's a shame that it's no longer open. We agree with your comments regarding the dog bins and it is something that the site managers are aware of but beyond our control. We're glad the information about the road closures locally were useful. Property Owner

Lovely place to stay very clean the property was perfect lovely touch goodies in the fridge and a lovely box of chocolates and a card for our 43rd anniversary ideal position to explore the area unless you have a sat nav like mine it seemed to want to take me up just about every lane that you couldn't pass another vehicle unless you were happy to reverse about a mile Looe well worth a visit lovely fishing village and lots of little shops

Thank you Stephen for a lovely review. We are glad you enjoyed your stay and hope you found somewhere suitable for your anniversary meal. We agree that SatNav and Cornish roads don't mix unfortunately Property Owner

  • "We have just come back from our break at Brook Haven, having had a fantastic holiday."

Such a lovely cottage to stay at. Really nice site too. In terms of location, it is only a short drive to Looe beach (around 10miles) and only a 2 minute drive to Aldi/Morrisons/Costa for any essentials. The town centre is only 5mins away too. The owner was so friendly when we arrived and made sure we had everything we needed - also making sure that we knew to contact her if there were any problems at all. The welcome pack of shortbread and milk was a really nice touch too! The property was spotless. The beds were incredibly comfy too and shower/bathroom facilities were great. The reclining couches were great to sit in at the end of the day and watch TV. It felt like the owners had planned for everything you'd need with this cottage, such as hoover; iron; washing machine; torches (for night-time walking); clothes dryer/pegs etc. The tv had Freeview and a DVD player built-in and there were a selection of DVDs for both adults/kids, along with books/board games - another nice touch. We connected to the WiFi as well during our stay. I'm always a bit wary when booking a holiday online, in case it doesn't live up to expectation, however I would genuinely recommend this property to anybody who is thinking of booking a holiday to Cornwall. We all loved our stay at Brook Haven and wish we could have stayed longer. We will definitely be back again soon. Andy, Helen and Jamie.

Andy, Helen and Jamie, it was a real pleasure to meet you when you arrived and we are incredibly touched by your detailed and glowing recommendation. It is always pleasing to know that our efforts are appreciated and we are delighted you enjoyed your stay at Brook Haven. You are always welcome and we look forward to a possible return. Thank you for your feedback. We are glad that you enjoyed a peaceful stay and that you had everything that you required. There is outside lighting at the cottage and torches available too. The amenities detail that there is a shared lawn which I'm sure you will agree is beautifully kept by the site owner. The onsite pub was permanently closed at the beginning of the pandemic due to illness. We apologise that this was still advertised in the amenities. Property Owner

It was situated near some woodland, great for our dog’s morning walks, and if you continued after the wood you arrived at a lovely pub, The Crow’s Nest, where unbelievably not only were dogs welcome but you could order their own special dogs dinner. It was also a convenient location for traveling further afield, to Jamaica Inn, the Eden Project and some amazing beaches. We had a great week and hope to be back when possible with our children and grandchildren.

We understand with reference to your complaint about Sykes not getting in touch with you following your published comments, we can only assume that their resources in these unprecedented times are completely exhausted. We are terribly sorry to see that Brook Haven did not match your expectations. Although you state that the property was not upto standard and that it was unfit for purpose, we were not made aware during the time of your stay that you were unhappy. Many of our guests prior and following your stay have only commented on how much they enjoyed staying at Brook Haven. We have since, checked out the property from your comments and would like to assure yourself and our future guests that there are no existing or ongoing concerns with the property standards. Had you made us aware at the time of your stay that you were unhappy we would have gone above and beyond to put things right. Thank you very much for your comments and for taking the time to let us know your thoughts. Customer feedback is very important to help us continually improve our standards. Property Owner

The pub wasn’t open but other than that there is nothing else there. Perfect for a quiet retreat, we loved it.
