  • "My family and I had the most wonderful stay at Westview."

The place was spotlessly clean, and everything was there that we needed. The internet was a bit hit and miss, so being able to book activities in advance was a bit difficult, but we were aware of that when we made the booking. The stream running behind the property was lovely to listen to at night whilst sitting outside having a cuppa after a long day exploring Cornwall. Would highly recommend this property.

We are both so pleased, that you enjoyed your stay at Westview. It was lovely to bump into you and the family. Its a unique privilege to meet our guests. Take care of yourselves, and we may see you again here in Cornwall very soon.Take Care Best RegardsVicki and Phil. Property Owner

  • "We had an absolutely lovely stay at Westview."

Great communication at the outset regarding key collection, a fantastic welcome pack which included dog treats on arrival and a beautiful, homely holiday bungalow with everything you could need and more. The owners were fabulous and very kind indeed. We really could not find fault at all. The beds were super comfortable, everything was spotless too. The park itself is easy to find and has great access to Liskeard and the coast. Outside of the bungalow is just as good. A very pretty and immaculately kept small park. At the rear of the home is a beautiful river which you can enjoy from the patio. There's also a very handy washing line and a line to attach to you dog's collar so you can all enjoy the garden. I would highly recommend Westview to anyone who wants a home from home break. We were so comfortable there. We will be booking for next spring!

We loved the welcome pack (exactly what we needed after 2 days of travelling from Yorkshire!). The home was very well equipped with everything we needed including a washing machine, washing line, airer, pegs, towels, vacuum, tea towels, sponges, tea, coffee etc. The wipe clean floors were easy to keep clean with the dogs. Excellent communication with the owners whenever we had a query.

Thank you so much, we really appreciate how lovely your comments are. It warms our hearts. Would love to see you again sometime soon. Victoria. Property Owner

  • "The location is great but the accommodation is awful!"

On arrival we had to go straight back out for cleaning supplies. There were cobwebs everywhere, dirty scatter cushions, sofa is stained uncomfortable with loose arms. Thick dust on the pelmet, oven, hob and extractor too dirty to use, fridge door seal filthy, mould behind kitchen door, dirty kettle that leeks when pouring boiling water. Blunt knives, dog hair in cutlery draw, crumbs and dog hair all over floor. Mould on all blinds. Thick black mould in shower and on floor tiles, body hair in the shower, toilet cistern wobbles, toilet seat rusty and broken. Toilet roll holder hanging off the wall, thick dust behind toilet. Peeling wallpaper, double bed like concrete, can feel all springs through both single mattress’. 1 small wardrobe for a place that sleeps 5! WiFi does not work! BBQ needs throwing away. Owners claim the place is deep cleaned and sanitised but definitely hadn’t been cleaned at all. Happy to supply photos if required.

  • "At first glance the property looked very nice and was as described on the website."

However I have to echo the comments of the previous occupants in that the cobwebs were still hanging from the ceiling, the cushion covers still grubby and I didn’t feel that the property had been deep cleaned, eg the lamp in the living room was thick with dust on the top. I found this disappointing especially in thesetimes. The site however is nice & quiet & we slept well on the comfy bed. I had to contact the owner a couple of times before we got a password that worked for the WiFi but she was very obliging and we got it sorted. I also liked the idea of leaving the key in the key safe all the time so I didn’t have to worry about losing it while we were out.

  • "The owner of the property was very polite when I called regarding access to the accommodation, upon arrival we noticed that the bungalow was very well equiped from the kitchen, to the soft furnishings, to DVDs and CDs, (I felt I had to leave a note for the housekeeper, identifying the scatter cushions on the sofa and chair were rather dirty and in need of a launder), there were a few cobwebs in places too but."

...there was fresh milk in the fridge and other little touches which gave a lovely welcome feeling

It was, however, a very good base to explore both Cornwall and Devon.

  • "When we arrived after a long journey we wanted a cuppa but the mugs needed to be washed before use."

The toilet flush button was broken so extreme care was needed to use it. This must have been noticed by the cleaner but nothing to say it had been noted. There were cobwebs hanging from the light in the kitchen and the grouting in the shower wants cleaning or renewing. The lodge needs updating and redecorating.

We was sorry to hear that our guests in West View were not satisfied with their stay. The owners regular manager/cleaner was taken ill and I had to find a replacement at very short notice and this may have been why the property was not cleaned to its usual standard. The owner advised that the toilet was not broken, it had been repaired on the day you arrived though the owner admits it was not to her desired standard due to lack of time, the owner apologizes for this. The property is having a refurbishment this year in time for the summer season, and the owner is looking forward to showing it off with new images shortly. Thank you once again for your comments. I often book through Sykes and I have never been disappointed, I usually take my elderly mother and disabled brother, your descriptions are always spot on and Rosecraddoc is such a beautiful place, very well loved and maintained the rhododendron's were in full bloom and stunning so peaceful with only birdsong and the sound of the stream we thoroughly enjoyed our week here the only downside is there is no shop within walking distance, but this did not spoil our stay in any way whatsoever and we were out and about exploring every day, I think this is definitely a site we will be returning to in the future

  • "I felt that the heating left a little to be desired, but the cottage was very well equipped by way of kitchen equipment etc."

, however some of the facilities such as the heated towel rail in the bath room, two of the external security lights, and the light contained in the hot plate extraction hood, appeared not to be working, which cause a minor inconvenience. Should we consider a return visit to Cornwall we would be happy to look at re-booking this cottage. There are two separate entrances to the site, since the site is split in to two sections which can only be accessed one to the other on foot, it would be an advantage to future visitors if accurate directions could be made available, to avoid the round and round the houses, we had to go through to get to the correct entrance for number 15.

A real home-from-home feeling greets you as you arrive at Westview.

Park right alongside your property, and enter into the well-thought-out open-plan living area with kitchen, sitting area and dining area.

There are two well-presented bedrooms, and a shower room to complete the accommodation.

Outside at the rear of the cottage is a delightful patio right alongside the River Seaton which flows from high up on the moor.

For the more adventurous the nearby Siblyback Lake offers an outdoor activity centre with sailing, windsurfing and the only Clockwise Cable Wakeboarding Park in the UK.

If you are struggling for something to do on days where the weather is less than favourable why not explore the Carnglaze Caverns which are located 23 minutes away from the property.

These covers host tours of the caverns as well as concerts and raves, which thanks to the acoustics have not failed to disappoint.

When it comes to planning a day out your options are endless.

One trip at the top of everyone's list is likely to be a visit to the small coastal town and fishing port of Looe.

By far the best way to arrive here is by train, so leave your car at the station in nearby Liskeard and take the railway along the Looe Valley line, a single-track branch line that takes you along scenic wooded riverbanks before arriving at the bustling port.

Westview is an 11-minute drive from the Adrenaline Quarry which is home to an Aquapark and where you can take part in Go Karting, Axe Throwing, and Coasteering among other amazing adventures.

With so much to do and see all close by a stay at Westview is one to be enjoyed at any time of year.
