Cubert village itself has much to offer, including a friendly, local gastropub, an excellent chippy, a well-stocked Londis and a sublime bakery serving top-notch coffee, delicious, fresh baked bread and scarily good cake.
Cubert is ideally placed between Holywell and Crantock, if you’re a fan of Poldark you’ll have seen Holywell Bay, with its iconic Gull Rocks, soft sandy beach, and high grassy dunes, around 20 minutes walk away or 5 minutes by car.
From Cubert Common you can take a National Trust path to Polly Joke Beach – a true gem, ideal for rock pooling, picnics, windswept walks and if you’re lucky you’ll get an audience with the local seals too.
Crantock has a stunning expansive beach where the river Gunnel meets the sea.
Whether you’re a walker, a surfer, a sun worshipper, sand dune climber or a castle builder, this beach suits all types of groups.
Linking each of these beaches is some of the most dramatic headlands and coastal walks in Cornwall – and are still excellent bases even in the colder seasons.
Trendy surfing mecca Newquay is an easy drive away, with some top cuisine and equally fun family attractions.
Alternatively, the beach resort of Perranporth is a similar distance in the opposite direction, all within easy reach from your doorstep!
