  • "Brilliant host, central location in Cornwall and very peaceful."

The cottage had everything we could have asked for and more! Nice and private too. Only thing I would recommend is to add "BBQ" in the listing as we were not sure if there was one. But there was and we loved using it!

Thank you so much. You are welcome back anytime. Property Owner

  • "Thank you so much for a lovely comfortable stay."

The bungalow had everything we needed. Enjoyed great walks with my dog to Stithians lake ,10 minutes walk, and then another 20 minutes along to the cafe . Recommend the cafe food , very good vegan breakfast. You can also walk to Stithians through the fields , around 15 minutes. Loved the pub in Stithians, plus their food was delicious! So much to explore, a week was not enough.Would love to return to Bailey cottage.

Thank you so much. You are all very welcome back Property Owner

  • "We loved our stay here and extended for a second week."

The host is close to hand and was very friendly and welcoming and always willing to help, but was very respectful of our privacy and never bothered us. It's a lovely, clean cottage in a very peaceful and pretty location. We wish we could have stayed longer, and can't wait to come back!

  • "Bailey Cottage is ideal as a peaceful retreat and base for exploring Cornwall."

Communication with our hosts was excellent with clear, helpful instructions and Cornish biscuits and cider to welcome us. The cottage itself is beautifully clean and very well equipped. The bed in the second bedroom is small which was fine for me as I’m only 5’1. The kitchen is great but it’s the only time I’ve been to a holiday cottage and not found basics like salt and pepper in the cupboard.Luckily the shop in the village is only a few minutes drive and stays open quite late. There are nice pubs only a few minutes drive away too. The Golden Lion by the lake is excellent for food and dog friendly. We enjoyed our stay in Bailey Cottage. It was quiet, clean, comfortable and well equipped.Thank you!

Hello I'm glad you enjoyed your stay at Bailey Cottage. I just wanted to address the two issues you had whilst here. I've finally got round to measuring the single bed and it does in fact measure 6ft x 2ft 6 which is in fact a "small single". I will either change it to a standard size or address this in the write up for the room, apologies. Regarding the items we supply. During the season after lockdown, policy was very strict about what could and could not be left or provided for guests . I don't know any owners who would buy new packets of salt and pepper each week each week. (I personally would not consume items that were not in sealed/unopen packaging and don't think you would either) . We do provide many other items i.e. local produced Cider and apple drink for a child. Dog treats, flowers, local Furniss biscuits, cleaning products and cloths, bin liners, quality bath sheets and hand towels and a good quality toilet roll, dog anchor and ice cube bags. if you choose to book with us again you will be very welcome and I will pop some in for you. • "This is a simple but great little cottage."

It is quiet and peaceful. It is quite a hike to the local pubs but not far by car. We ate at both of the locals and preferred The Seven Stars. Blue, our dog, loved the garden and surrounding fields. The owners, who live next door, are lovely. When we got a bit lost on the way in Penny came and saved us. They bent over backwards to ensure we had everything we needed. Very friendly. Stithians is really central and allows you easy access to the rest of Cornwall. All in, we had a great week.

Thank you very much.x Property Owner

  • "I had a lovely week at Bailey Cottage with my rescue dog Spotty."

Spotty was a street dog from India who craves peace and quiet. The cottage was spotlessly clean and well equipped with everything you would need. The owners left apple juice, cider and local biscuits which were a lovely touch. The cottage was warm and cosy, and I would highly recommend it for anyone needing to escape the stresses of the world!

Thank you very much Property Owner

  • "I loved this property."

It was on it’s own yet the owners were just next door. It was beautifully warm (welcomed in the inclement March weather) The facilities were excellent, the bed was very comfortable and it was very useful having a washing machine. There was plenty of space outside for car parking and a lovely patio area with table and chairs which sadly I was unable to use due to the frequent rain showers. This was an ideal area for walking, there were masses of footpaths everywhere. I will return definitely. A very big thank you to the owners.

    Thank you x Property Owner
