If you like woods, streams & waterfalls then this is a MUST visit. As soon as my taxi pulled into the driveway I immediately knew that this was the place for me. The beautifully landscaped garden blends into the wooded area perfectly, with a private walkway through the woods that leads to the famous St. Nectan’s Glen (60ft waterfall). Mill Cottage where I stayed (three cottages and a house for holiday let’s) was delightful, with views of the garden and stream. Everything one needs is supplied, even hot water bottle! The owner Robin Evans lives in The Keep adjacent to the cottage and was so very helpful, with an expansive knowledge of the area and wildlife. It is only a 15-20 minute walk in to Tintagel, (legend of King Arthur abounds) with Rocky Valley even closer. The dramatic coastal scenery is all within walking distance, however it is the wooded valley that just melts your stress away. 10/10 Thoroughly recommend staying here, it’s a truly delightful, magical place.

Halgabron Mill

Tintagel 1 mile. This one time corn mill is situated in atmospheric St Nectan’s Glen, a densely wooded valley and an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, sat between the villages of Tintagel and Boscastle. Set in 20 acres of garden and woodland, the cottages have been converted from the former mill buildings and millworkers’ homes - each individually designed to retain their character. Visitors will enjoy the woodland, lawns and sitting areas next to the old mill stream. The perfect base for a restful holiday!

The property

Tintagel 1 mile.

With delightful views over the millstream to the gardens and woods beyond, this cosy cottage with its ornate entrance way, was once part of Halgabron Corn Mill.

Walk through the woods, savour the surroundings or just sit in the garden.

The atmosphere is intoxicating.

The perfect base for a restful holiday in a beautiful part of Cornwall.

Furnished to a good standard, the owner lives in the adjoining cottage.

Note: This property can be booked with Refs. 980, 982 and 983, together they sleep 13.

About the location

TINTAGEL

Camelford 6 miles; Wadebridge 12 miles.

Tintagel, home of the legendary King Arthur’s Castle, whose ruins dominate the cliffside just outside the village, is a popular but not overcrowded tourist destination.

The surrounding area is dominated by the sea, rocky coves and stunning scenery.

Several beaches, including nearby Trebarwith Strand and Bossiney Cove, are within easy reach and surfing is the main attraction for those who love the water.

Tintagel has several pubs and restaurants and the Old Post Office (National Trust) is a must.

For the energetic, the SW Coast Path passes through the village and in both directions it winds its way along the cliffs and down to the water’s edge through dramatic countryside.

Head north along the path and in 2.5 miles is the beautiful village of Boscastle with its quaint quay and village pubs for refreshment.

Further afield are the surfing meccas of Newquay and Bude, with their resort attractions, while the open spaces of Bodmin Moor, the Eden Project, Padstow and the Camel Estuary are all within a 40-minute drive..
