  • "Wow, what an amazing holiday in Cornwall we have just had, staying in Helyk Lowarth."

The house is so beautiful - spacious, comfortable, stylish, well equipped, amazing location, and the owners are very kind and helpful. I can't recommend this holiday house enough.

  • "Helyk Lowarth was extremely well appointed, beautiful surroundings and if the weather had been awful, we could easily have stayed there all week."

We had a great time and Simon and Helen were were very friendly and helpful. Thank you so much.

  • "Helen and Simon were the perfect hosts."

The accomodation was amazing and we all enjoyed our week in this cottage. Helen and Simon's only failing was to allow it to rain on our first day, but they corrected this for the remainder of the holiday!

  • "Loved the house and the owners/Hosts were exemplary."

The reason we would fail to recommend Sykes is that for 3rd week in June 2021 the cost we paid was £1779. For the same week in 2022 the cost has increased to £2,359, which represents a 30% increase! There seems little justification for such an increase from our perspective.

  • "You advertised 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms."

We were 5 couples and were disappointed when it was 5 bedrooms and a bathroom was shared between two bedrooms this was not right. I sent a complaint but was not answered

  • "The bungalow is spacious, tasteful, immaculate, really comfy beds and everything you could wish for."

The location is excellent and views from terrace and snug are wonderful. We are all missing the ducks, chickens and birds all living across the pond that entertained us all. The weather was perfect so never used the dining room or the lounge but used the large table and chairs on terrace outside kitchen door.We most definitely will return. Sykes Cottages this has to be the jewel in the crown.

About the location

Newquay 3 miles; Perranporth 9.1 miles

This Cornish village rests some three miles south-east of Newquay, named after the surrounding area of moorland and playing host to a local shop, a couple of pubs, a garden centre and the railway station, which operates local services every couple of hours between Par and Newquay. You can also access Newquay by car, via the A392, and discover its endless supply of rolling surf, three wonderful beaches, each offering something different, and a variety of family-friendly attractions. Spend a day at the zoo or sea life centre with the kids and try out some of its finest restaurants and bars for light refreshments or a spot of lunch. The South West Coast Path is a must, attracting tourists from all over, home to an abundance of wildlife and spectacular landscape scenery, as well as picturesque beaches and hidden coves. You also have the chocolate-box fishing village of Padstow with its thriving harbour and traditional Cornish amenities, while the city of Truro has museums, its beautiful cathedral, and cobbled streets. The Eden Project, Lost Gardens of Heligan and the towns and villages of Fowey, Polperro and Mevigissey are also worth visiting. This is the ideal base for exploring the heart of Cornwall.
