We absolutely loved our stay. SEBRIGHT is a wonderful lodge. Very cosy for a couple and 1 dog. Extremely quiet, which is exactly what we wanted. Loved having the fenced in garden so the dog could just roam about. The wood burning stove was a real treat it was in constant use. Love the hot tub too, really added to the weekend away. The bed was extremely comfortable too. Only 1 little criticism was we could of used an outside tap to rinse the dogs feet off, but we bought dogs towels to do this. Also could of used couple of hooks on the toilet door or wall by the toilet to hang our coats instead of the floor. Overall fantastic weekend away and highly recommend

The property is lovely and clean, its very well kept, it's nice and quiet, and with the fully fenced in garden, really nice and private too. I have just one niggle from the whole holiday, and that is the sofa is really uncomfortable, it's such a small thing, and feels almost pedantic to say about it, but i feel worth mentioning as a differentsofa would make this place absolutelyperfect, that said, I would most definitely recommend this property to anyone looking to stay in Cornwall, it really is a gem. Thankyou so much to the owners for creating a little piece of paradise for everyone to enjoy.

The hot tub was nice to relax in at the end of the day. The bed was very cosy and comfortable. Great kitchen set up. Great location for exploring the area and some good walking trails on the doorstep. We found the Knightor Winery, 15 minutes walk away. Had a lovely Sunday roast and wine tasting experience. The only thing we would have found useful at the property would be an outside tap with a hose to wash our dog down after walks.

Great communication from Paul, who very kindly had the hot tub fired up for our arrival. Had some minor issues with figuring out the hot tub, but Paul came and sorted right away and was on hand for any queries. The enclosed garden was brilliant for the pooch. All facilities as described and ample utensils in the kitchen to cook a proper meal. Bonus having the washer/dryer. Lovely touch with the scones & clotted cream. We’ve already re-booked for next year! Thank you for a great stay!

  • "We did enjoy our holiday."

The place was nice but smaller than expected, however the sea view was lovely. We do have things to note though. I think marketing as pet friendly is not quite accurate. We kept our dog out of the bedroom as much as possible (as requested) however, one time he snuck in while I was grabbing something from the bedroom and jump on the bed just once. He did get a few mud marks on it but to claim that you needed to replace the sheets and under sheets, we think is a little misleading of your title as “pet-friendly”. We’ve been to Cornwall before in other venues which have definitely been more accommodating for dogs, especially as a fee for having a pet there is already taken for the holiday. To then ask for £85 for new sheets I would recommend changing your accommodation details for “no pets”. The hot tub was nice, although I’m not sure if everyone has used a firewood hot tub before, so maybe more information on this is needed for future holiday visitors. The bed was comfy and facilities were generally clean. We do believe there was either rats or some small animals scattering around outside but I guess to be expected for a location near farmland. Overall it was good, we had a discount due to booking last minute so we feel it fairly meets the price of booking we paid/to experience of accommodation. However, if we had paid usual price, we are not sure we would feel the same.

It was secluded enough to be private when using the hot tub but location is convenient for local amenities and areas to visit. Our only recommendation would be a couple of shelves in the bathroom and bedroom for toiletries/ make up etc. but the lack of this did not spoil such a lovely holiday.

And instructions for hot tub and wood burner. Would have been nice to hear from the owners with a ‘welcome’ or a ‘how’s it going’. We didn’t get a reply to how to check out or what to do with the keys or recycling.

Thank you for taking the time to complete your feedback. Unfortunately there isn't room in the bedroom to add bedside tables, there is shelving behind the bed. Also, it's not possible to add shelves in the shower. We do try to meet and greet guests on arrival, where we also show you how to work the hot tub and the wood burner. We were sorry to not have met you when you arrived but as we live on site, we are happy for guests to give us a call or a text should you have any queries or questions. • "The location was good, but the cottage smelled of damp, likely coming from the bathroom."

Garden and outside area were not great, we were expecting a proper garden with a nicer fence/enclosure, but there was just grass. We appreciate that it is was the end of October, but gardens can be looked after in winter too (especially for the amount of money that two nights in the cottage costed). Hot tub was great, but it took almost an hour to reach the right temperature and the bag of logs can be used once only, so to use the hot tub again, extra money is required for another bag of logs, which is excessive after having spent almost £400 for two nights. It was very windy and we could hear something in the cottage rattling for the entire stay (not sure what is was, our guess is the metallic heater inside the cottage which is powered by wood). No shower gel/shampoo or hair dryer provided, which we found disappointing. We appreciate that these were not on the list of things provided, but it is what is expected as a minimum. Everything listed was there, enough space in the wardrobe for two nights, nice cottage inside, but, again, we were expecting more as furnitures had rusty handles and were old. It was clean, there is a dish washer and even dishwasher tablets are provided. Check in time is 5pm, extreme really, especially when you have to check out at 10 am and leave everything clean behind you, even take the rubbish out. Earlier check in was accomodated for us, but for 3pm, which is still late if you are there just for two nights. We were welcomed with ginger biscuits (which we loved) and a botyle of wine, which was very nice on the owner. Overall not bad, but can be improved a lot. And a bit too expensive for what we found.

  • "We booked sebright as a little getaway with our dog."

I must say I was a little sceptical after reading the reviews. Sebright is a lovely, relaxing and private getaway in a lovely part of Cornwall. The owners heated up the hot tub for us as we travelled down so it was ready for us when we arrived. We arrived late as we couldn’t travel as early as we wanted but the owners left the light on and the keys on a safe place so we didn’t have to disturb them. The farm was beautiful, we didn’t see much of it as we had planned days out already but we absolutely loved the privacy of our stay, 6ft fences all the way round meant that you had safety for your dog and private space. The log hot tub was just luxurious, you can feel the heat piping in. Lodge was spacious and had everything we needed, we brought food which we thought would be easy to cook given previous reviews but honestly you could cook a full roast dinner here, the comment about ‘no facilities, scissors, mop’ they had weighing scales! We brought extra bits given the old reviews but ended up leaving them in the car. There was everything we needed to be honest. It was clean on arrival and there was some fresh scones, cream and jam and even milk in the fridge. We didn’t actually get to meet the owners but they were very friendly when arranging keys, and were disappointed we didn’t get to meet their spaniels! We brought ours! We didn’t plan for the weather well but that was our own fault so we did leave late Sunday night, to beat traffic but the fire was a cosy place to snuggle up and watch a film. We felt it was close to the places we wanted to go and visit and was perfect for us. We have told many dog owners how we thought this was a perfect secure getaway and a lovely break for us too

No loo brush - garden again uninspiring - please buy a few shrubs which are easily maintained for around the edge and in the high winds the rattling from the wood burner drives you mad. How can it take 7 hrs to clean such a small space when you expect your clients to strip bed wash all China remove all rubbish and be out by 10 am. I would definitely NOT have booked if I had realised it was 10 am get out. from 5pm to 10 am on second day it is only 41 hrs - so expensive for such a short time.

Simple things like disposable dishcloths, tea towels and a mop not provided. Struggled to get items out of the oven 1st night as no tea towel or oven glove provided. Contacted Sykes on our 2nd day and I am still waiting for someone to get back to me. Wood fired hot tub provided with one bag of logs and a few fire lighters. No kindling so impossible to get the fire started. You cannot place logs onto firelighters. On our last day we were advised by the owner that there was to be an end of school party on site that evening and that he had neglected to tell us this when we arrived and apologised in advance for any noise or issues the party caused. We did not want to be around for this so decided to leave that day which meant we only had six nights which spoilt our last Positives is that it is a nice location and is near to local attractions and shops, the shower works well and the bed is comfortable but we would not stay here again.

Thank you for your feedback. The dishcloths and tea towels were provided, a mop and bucket is not due to storage space. Firelighters and wood of different sizes were also provided for the hot tub. I can confirm that you would not have been disturbed by the small gathering being held as the property is situated on the outskirts of the 30 acre land and far enough away to have not affected your stay.
