  • "The property was in a great central location and easy to find, making it a great hub for exploring Cornwall."

The facilities were fantastic, with all the basic amenities that help make for a comfortable stay. The property was lovely and clean, and decorated beautifully, and the gardens front and back were fab for sitting out in the sunshine. All of the property instructions were easy to follow, and the additional tips and guidance in the visitor book was really useful, especially when selecting a local walk to take. The owners were great at keeping in touch too, and I would highly recommend staying here :)

We try very hard to keep high standards and fulfill our guests expectations. It is so nice to hear you enjoyed your stay and holiday so much. Kind regards from us all. Lesley Property Owner

There is also a private split level rear garden with a hedge to the rear which backs onto fields and pastures.

This has a patio area with garden table and chairs, a wooden pergola seat, which also catches the sun for a large part of the day, a perfect place to relax.

There is a rotary washing line, and a small shed housing the outdoor seat cushions.

There is a drive for parking of one large car at the front of the cottage.

Downstairs is a plush south-facing lounge, which has exposed beams, wooden floor, and a large sofa, two chairs, an electric stove-effect fire, and a flat screen digital Freeview TV and Blu-ray DVD player and WiFi.

There is also a downstairs shower room, with shower cubicle, toilet and wash basin.

Inside, there are three bedrooms, the master has a king-sized bed, and overlooks the back garden and fields behind looking towards Carn Marth, the hill overlooking the village; this room is en-suite having a bath with shower over, toilet and wash basin.

Overlooking the front garden are two further bedrooms, one has a double bed and one a single.

About the location

LANNER

Redruth 2 miles; Falmouth 9 miles; Portreath 7 miles.

Just outside Redruth on the road towards Falmouth, Lanner was once part of Cornwall’s mining epicentre. Today, the village is welcoming and friendly, with a number of convenience stores, a bakery, a village hall and several good pubs. Carn Marth overlooks Lanner village from its hilltop location; a former granite quarry, this is now a lovely place for a walk or cycle. Nearby Carn Brea is worth a visit too; here you will find a Medieval castle (now a restaurant), which once belonged to Lord Bassett, the most influential mine owner in the area during the 18th and 19th centuries. The beaches at Portreath and Porthtowan are just a short drive from Lanner, and there are several off-road cycle trails in the area, including the Coast to Coast Trail which follows the original tramway from Portreath on the north coast to Devoran on the south.
