    Spotlessly clean , great location for Crantock beach , village ,shop and pubs , restaurants. Beautiful property , so spacious , perfect layout for a family with a big private enclosed outdoor space and raised garden area. Driveway for 2 big cars and lovely garden furniture . Utility room was great for post beach towels , swimwear etc . We stayed with our Daughter , Son in Law and 2 young Grandchildren and always felt that there was plenty of indoor and outdoor space for us all . The beds were super comfy with high quality bedding and we slept so well every night. Such a lovely well equipped kitchen for breakfast and evening meals which we always ate outside. We had such an incredible holiday and were very sad to leave. Great Meadow Barn was one of the best holiday homes we have ever had the pleasure of staying in.

  • "Wow. Beyond expectations."

    Just beautiful. Where do I start. Everything was catered for. Thick luxury mattresses on all the beds and the bedding was immaculate. There are walk in wardrobe space, drawers and vanity desks in each bedroom. Plenty of space to fully unpack and store your suitcase. There is even a light sensor in one room that gently lights the room enough to navigate the stairs should you need to get up in the night. Everything is thought of. The kitchen is very well stocked. Loved that there was a recycling bin too. Even though we brought supplies like washing up liquid, bin bags, sugar etc, it was all there, maybe from a previous guest but we ended up taking our own back home. The living room was very comfortable and cosy in the evenings. . Especially the sofas. Easy to fall asleep on Zzzz. But the added bonus for me was the outside utility room. Complete with washing machine, tumble dryer and another toilet. Again everything was covered. Cleaning products, airer, pegs, clothes lined, laundry basket. Having this outside definitely reduces the sand entering the house after a beach day. The outside space is great. There is even seating in different parts of the garden catching the sun a various points of the day. I loved that. As I keep saying, everything has been thought of and covered. There are stairs in the house and in the garden. I've just had a knee replacement and I managed them ok. Most of all we loved the location. Village life, the church bell, horse riders on the hill, friendly horses in the field next door and the bird song. A place to chill. Relax in the garden. And then of course, the beach. Easy walking distance or take the car. We loved our stay. I would highly recommend this property. Many thanks to the owners. You have a beautiful home. Thank you for sharing. ❤️

  • "A holiday a Great Meadow Barn that we can highly recommend."

    A beautiful property with everything you need nothing has been forgotten from the lovely welcome basket that greets you when entering the fabulous kitchen, to the comfortable cosy lounge and spacious bedrooms truly a 5 star property. The village shop with its friendly staff has fresh baked pastry every day and also stocks all you basic grocery and is just round the corner. This was a lovely holiday and would visit again. Janet

  • "We’ve just returned from a fabulous week at Great Meadow Barn and our 2nd stay in the village of Crantock."

    The property is perfect and has everything you could possibly need for a holiday home and then some! The pictures don’t do the property justice,,4)3 owners have done a great job. It’s spacious but cosy, with a great kitchen diner and a lovely lounge with log burner, beds are soooo comfy, the owners have literally thought of everything and leave a really lovely welcome basket for their guests. The barn is on the door step of the viillage shop, the lovely pizza place and 2 great pubs, all of which we visited and would recommend. Fabulous coastal walk from the door and a few minutes walk down to the beach - perfect. We’ll definitely be trying to book this one again! Thank you, from The Mather’s.

  • "We were totally delighted with our stay at the Great Meadow Barn, the location in Crantock was lovely, easy to locate and very close to Crantock Beach."

    The facilities within the barn are excellent and very close to local eateries and pubs. We had no problems in the drive into Newquay or in parking. Newquay is lovely. We have stayed in many holiday cottages around the UK and this is up there with the best.

    The property is beautiful, and the owners have literally catered for your every need, the specification of everything in the barn is top end, location I'd perfect and plenty of parking which will be a major bonus in high season, we normally stay in another place however think we have found a new place in Great Meadow

  • "We shared a lovely holiday at this cottage In Crantock with our daughter her husband and their three children."

    Whilst there are a few steps here and there in the cottage and the garden is raised which we knew our little grandkids negotiated them well. Facilities at the cottage were great and a nice touch welcome pack on the table when we arrived. Ten mins walk to the beach and few mins walk to pubs and shop made this a very nice place to stay.

  • "Great Meadow Barn is a delightful property situated in the centre of Crantock village."

    It is well equipped with plenty of space to relax in. Its modern kitchen made cooking a pleasure. The oven and hob were superb. The properties courtyard is a total suntrap and so the outside furniture was appreciated and well used. The beach,which is within 10 minutes walk, has ideal sand for sandcastle making. We hope to be able to return in the future.

  • "Our family had a fantastic stay at Great Meadow Barn."

    The property was beautifully decorated and had everything we needed. The care and attention put into the property really did make it feel like a home away from home. The nearby beach was great. It offered surfing/paddle boarding hire and lessons as well various takeaway food/drink. There's two local pubs which were lots of fun and served good food as well as a cafe and pizzeria. The local shop is virtually on your doorstep and had everything you could need. We could not fault our stay and will definitely be returning.

  • "The location of property and the property itself was better than the description and pictures on the website."

    Beautiful property in a beautiful place . The shop had anything you needed and there was an excellent bus service that ran from the centre of the village.The two pubs in the village both had excellent food. A beautiful beach was no more than 10 mins from property by foot. Some lovely walks around Crantock which took you over the dunes. The church is worth a visit too. Lovely would definitely recommend both the barn and Crantock itself.

The first bedroom is situated downstairs, offering a charming double with en-suite shower room, ideal for those with limited mobility.

Venture upstairs to reach the landing; to the left lies a superb king-size room, whilst to the other is a super-king-size room, both offering spacious walk-in wardrobes!

This Crantock cottage comes with a wonderful outside patio, complete with furniture set so you can enjoy alfresco dining on a balmy evening.

Due to its central location, Great Meadow Barn will appeal to those who like to be close walking distance from Crantock’s village facilities, including Crantock beach, providing excellent surfing and paddleboarding, as well as access to the South West Coastal Path and scenic walks to nearby beaches at Polly Joke and Holywell.

Newquay Zoo, a popular family-friendly attraction, Trenance Gardens, and The Gannel Estuary, a nature reserve dotted with wildlife are also local recommendations.

The breath-taking cliffs at Cligga Head Mine, the St Agnes Head Observatory, and the Godrevy and Chapel Porth are close by, whilst nature enthusiasts will enjoy the dramatic cliffs at Cligga Head Mine and the St Agnes Head Observatory.

CRANTOCK

Newquay 4.5 miles.

Crantock is a small Cornish village, just a short walk from the beach, close to the popular resort of Newquay. If you want to escape the crowds, yet still be close to the action, this is the place to be. There's stunning countryside all around and lots of pretty villages to explore; however, it is the coast that dominates. Enjoy superb walks along the coastal path over dramatic cliff-tops, or magnificent surfing on beaches stretching from Watergate Bay in the North to Fistral beach in the centre of Newquay and on down the coast. There are a number of golf courses in the area, as well as National Trust properties, traditional pubs and outstanding restaurants. Newquay itself is a visitor's paradise with a wide variety of shops, pubs and restaurants, plus attractions such as the Sea Life Centre, Newquay Zoo and nearby Dairyland and Eden Project.
