  • "Fantastic cottage, very cosy and well equipped."

The only thing I would say is that the “ secure garden” isn’t secure as it’s across the lane and has no gate which was really inconvenient with 2 dogs. Other than that the cottage was lovely and location great

Hi Shirley, We hope you had a great break and thanks for the lovely cottage feedback . We're sorry if you thought that the garden would be secure. We'll revise the description on the Sykes listing to ensure that there isn't any confusion for future guests. We are pleased you enjoyed the cottage as much as we do and it would be lovely to host your party again if you're looking to return to Cornwall. Cheers Patrick & Hilary Property Owner

  • "The cottage had a well fitted and equipped kitchen and the sitting room was characterful."

However upstairs was poor as there was extensive mould in various locations with a foul smell in the bathroom. The smallest bedroom was a health hazard with the worst mould around the skirting. Mould around the landing window was partially obscured with a 2018 four star rating!. We should receive some compensation.

Thank you for your feedback. We wished you would have contacted us with these issues during your stay as we would have had someone there to inspect this right away for you. We had someone inspect the property following your departure and found no smell, we have also contacted the guests previous to yourselves who confirmed they also had no problems at all in the property. We are sorry this caused inconvenience to your stay but this does appear to be an isolated problem that occurred. In regard to the mould, we discovered some residue round the window which has been a result of the windows perpetually being left open by guests in poor weather, we will look to get this treated, the skirting boards simply need a repaint as the old colour is starting to come through, we will also look to get this re-painted going forwards but we can confirm that our property has been recently renovated so we know the building is up to a great standard. Our previous reviews have all been top marks so we were very shocked to see you did have problems during your stay, we do ask that all guests please contact us should they have any problems as we want to ensure everyone has the best stay possible at Thatch View Cottage. • "The cottage was great and we had a lovely week."

Everything you could possibly need was provided. I had to contact the owners about a couple of very minor issues and they were very helpful and able to sort out straight away. The only draw back was the parking which if you are a confident driver may not be a problem.

  • "Lovely, well appointed cottage."

Very comfortable. Had a very happy week. Especially helpful to have a few essential cupboard items available to use. Ceilings quite low so my 6’5 son found lying on comfy sofas was best!!!

Hi Isabel, So glad your family had a lovely time at our cottage and thanks for the glowing feedback - you're all welcome back any time! Thanks Patrick & Hilary Property Owner

  • "Would definitely recommend this cottage."

Had everything you could need for a comfortable holiday. Tucked away in a quiet village. Easy to get to places. The only thing I would recommend is take a small fan for the bedrooms, it get's warm upstairs. But otherwise very happy with the cottage and we will be back

Hi Fay, Glad you all had a such a lovely time at our cottage. Thanks too for the feedback re the fan which is something we will act upon. Looking forward to seeing you again. Cheers Patrick & Hilary Property Owner

  • "Lovely cottage, not really suitable for toddlers or anyone with mobility problems due to open staircase (no handrail on right side) and un even floor at top of stairs."

That said we had a lovely week the cottage has been done to a very high standard and is very well equipped with everything you need. The cottage is on the outskirts of Liskeard and there is nothing within walking distance so car is a must.

  • "We had a fantastic stay here with our pooch during a week long breakaway in Cornwall."

The cottage is located a short distance away by car to the beaches, woodlands and moorland of the most amazing countryside and fantastic walks and we would highly recommend a stay here. The cottage itself had everything we needed, and more, with lots of space, great facilities and very comfy beds and sofas. Thank you very much for having us, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

  • "Had a fantastic 2 night stay at Thatch View Cottage - it is a beauty!"

Everything you could want there, very clean, very comfortable and would definitely book again and recommend to friends! Only issue is parking and to be very fair to the owners we did contact them to say we had 2 cars and they said there was only parking for one car so this is very clear on the listing too. We found parking on the lane quite easy.

Fast WiFi too for work access or to keep the children happy too.

The new fitted kitchen is well-equipped with all the essential appliances for a break away, including a splendid range cooker, combination microwave oven, coffee machine and handy washing machine/tumble dryer.

There’s even a wine cooler.

Upstairs there are three bedrooms including two doubles and a single, each of which have been freshly decorated in a bright colour scheme and housing ample storage for your belongings.

Pocket sprung double mattresses too.

Directly opposite the cottage and patio area is a detached garden where you can enjoy a refreshing beverage in the afternoon sunshine after exploring the Cornish countryside or a beach trip.

Both Downderry and Seaton are the closest beaches to this property and are within a 20 minute drive through the lanes.
