"Excellent cottage and facilities, very cosy everything you need and the paddock was a great place to exercise the dogs."
The owners were lovely people thank you for our stay
-

Exceptionally clean.Well maintained. Good quality bed linen. No negative feedback.

"We absolutely love, love, love Trevenning Barn."
3rd (but definitely NOT the last) time staying here. It is stunning inside and out. We were greeted on arrival by the owner, who is very pleasant and helpful. The bottle of fizz was very much appreciated. If you like peace and quiet, wildlife, stunning views and sunsets, this place has it all. Just fabulous!
-
"So much thought and care put into this barn conversion."
From the quality of beds and linen to everything you could need in kitchen.First class! Croquet lawn, garden furniture. Just perfect, easy distance to both North and South coasts. Would love to return
-
"We had a wonderful holiday at this very spacious barn."
Accommodation is 5 star with high levels of cleanliness. Having the 2 dogs, the paddocks for exercising was fantastic. Location is good for both north and south coasts. Would definitely return and highly recommend. Nigel and Alison

"We all had a nice relaxing holiday."
Lovely to have countryside views with peace & quiet but not far from all the coastal areas we wanted to revisit.
-
"Very pleasant stay, couldn’t have expected anything better."
-
"Lovely cottage in a peaceful rural setting."
close to great dog friendly beaches. Well maintained cottage and grounds, safely away from roads. A few more kitchen items and I would have given it 5*. We did get some cheep wine glasses from the local supper market so didn't suffer to much. Also no logs provided and only two matches left. But it didn't spoil the experience.
Many thanks for feed back, Stem less wine glasses are supplied and were in kitchen cupboard . We were not asked by the guests for fire wood ,the weather that week being very warm I am surprised anyone needed a fire ! Property Owner
-
"Very clean, comfortable and well equipped."
Host friendly but left guests alone unless there was any problems. The beds were so comfortable, firm mattress but not too hard and we loved the downstairs shower, really powerful. The evenings were a little chilly at times, could have done with extra blankets just in case, I was lucky to have packed my fluffy dressing gown. Location was central so we didn’t have to drive miles to visit places.
Many thanks for the kind comments we hope you enjoyed visiting North Cornwall despite weather! Property Owner
-
"We had a lovely stay - would have liked to know how to turn the heating up a notch as it was chilly in the evenings but the weather was pretty mild so it didn’t matter."
We could have used the wood burner but saved it for when/if it suddenly got colder. Beautiful location and handy for revisiting old/popular haunts.
-
"We were very surprised by how big Trevenning Barn is and by how wonderfully peaceful it was there, the host made us feel very welcome andafter a few instructions and showing us around he left us to it."
You are central to anywhere else you might want to goo too. I would recommend this property 100 % and would be more than happy to go back there
-
"The property was clean, well equipped, and spacious."
Outside there was adequate parking and access to a large garden with chairs. The owner was helpful and approachable.
-
"This property is amazing, set in beautiful grounds with plenty of room."
The owners are very helpful and nothing is to much trouble for them if you need anything. Property is very spacious and clean and the kitchen has all you home comforts and mod cons. I will definitely be booking to stay here again
-
"Couldn’t fault our stay at Trevenning Barn, have stayed there before, so new what to expect from the property and the owners and we were not disappointed, a great holiday cottage in a terrific location!"
-
"The perfect base for a stay in Cornwall."
Picturesque location with all the amenities you could possibly need. Can not recommend this place highly enough.
-
"Lovely cottage in a very peaceful setting with lovely views."
-
"A wonderful holiday property in a peaceful setting."
The property was spotlessly clean, fully equipped with everything we needed and plenty of space. The lounge has beautiful views across the Cornish landscape. Very conveniently positioned for access to many places including Padstow, Port Issac, Wadebridge and more. We highly recommend Trevenning Barn and would certainly return again.
-
"Our first time in Cornwall and we weren’t disappointed."
Trevenning Barn is lovely and was perfect for us, lots of room, clean and tidy with everything you will need. Plenty of paddock area to walk your dog and a neat garden area which would be lovely in the summer. Very peaceful and tranquil and we would love to stay again soon.
-
"A perfect piece of paradise."
Peaceful and calm. Everything we could hope for and more. Beautiful views, very clean & tidy inside and out. Owners are very friendly and discreet. In close proximity to all the beautiful sites. We had a fantastic week with our two dogs and would highly recommend it.
-
"This is the second time we have stayed at this property."
We enjoyed our stay, the cottage has everything we needed and more. It is peaceful and relaxing after days out exploring this beautiful part of the country. Would highly recommend.
-
"A fabulous base for exploring the beauty of Cornwall and a successful ancestor hunt."
Trevenning Barn was just the perfect retreat after busy days out and about. Only recommendations for even more comfort would be extra blankets for beds especially for those chilly nights & larger bath towels (those provided a little small for my 6ft son)!
-
"Simply wonderful !"
Beautiful location ( miss it already !) The Barn is an immaculate holiday stay - spotlessly clean and so well maintained Every aspect of the stay thought out by owner who obviously cares greatly about his property and his guests ! Anthony was a great host ! Greeted us and politely wished us well for our journey. Faultless stay at the Barn
-
"For us this was the best ever peaceful location in the heart of the countryside."
The property is superb with every comfort. Did not want to leave. Hope to return next year
-
"Return holiday because we love it there."
So quiet, and fantastic for the dogs. Look forward to returning soon.
-
"We had a wonderful holiday in a perfect location."
-
"This was one of the best places that we have stayed in."
Quiet throughout the day and night, comfy and well equipped. Comfy beds and good pillows, and clean throughout. If we come back to Cornwall, we'll stay here for sure.
-
"We were delighted with our stay, the barn is convenient for visiting locations in all directions yet very peaceful."
There was loads of space to amuse our grandaughter of 8years with casual badminton and tennis returns and introducing her to french cricket. Had we more time we would have been tempted to open the croquet set and see if past skills were still retained. Most enjoyable in all respects.
-
"Lovely place to stay ."
Very good spacious, spotlessly clean and well equipped accommodation in a beautiful setting . We genuinely did not want to leave .
-
"Absolutely wonderful stay at trevanning Lodge."
Place was very clean, everything you needed was provided, good parking and wonder grounds. We really couldn't fault it. Bigger than we expected and stunning inside and out. We can't wait to book again! This will be our cornwall holiday go to!!!

-
"A delightful stay at Trevenning Barn."
Peaceful location and lovely to have access to the garden and paddocks. The barn is very spacious, comfortable and very well equipped with everything you could need. It was spotlessly clean and tidy on our arrival. We enjoyed our stay very much.

"Àrea accomodation great for dog top class relaxing quite"
-
"Such a lovely tranquil setting away from the hussle and bustle."
Nicely done barn conversion with plenty of outdoor space. Great for a couple or small family. Wonderful to watch the aerial display of the local housemartins nesting. Totally relaxing.
-
"Lovely property quiet location and beautiful sunsets."
Could not make it any better
-
"Lots of paddocks to walk the dogs, although nowhere totally enclosed to let our rather wilful 2 year old out without supervision."
Lovely views. Lots of places to sit outside in large mown areas. Lovely upstairs lounge.
-
"Absolutely wonderful location, so peaceful in the countryside with pure fresh air."
It's a pity we couldn’t book decent weather as well! Because the temperature was well below that of an average May we found The Barn a bit chilly even though the heating was on. Otherwise we would certainly return.
-
"Very comfortable and spotless."
Lovely quiet area and the view was brilliant. Only suggestion would be for the addition of a proper barbecue.
-
"We had a lovely holiday and the cottage was lovely, however we were due to come in June and paid June’s price of £630."
Due to COVID this was not possible so had to rebook for November and on your website the price for a week in November is £385 meaning we have paid £245 more than it should be for the same week. We are disappointed about this and have had no help whatsoever from Sykes ignoring emails etc etc. I feel we should have been refunded the difference of £245!!
-
"Lovely barn everything spotless and everything you need highly recommended."
-

Perfect

"Was not told this property had a shared garden, we had dogs and could have been a problem if other dogs were in the other property."
. ,
Thank you for taking the time to send in your comments. We will look at the marketing to make sure it is clear that the garden and ground are shared with another holiday property, Trevenning Chapel. We do hope that you enjoyed your stay and welcome you back in the future. Property Owner
-
"Lovely presented cottage which makes you feel at home from home."
Beautiful position and central for visiting many beautiful Cornish places. Even weather couldn't dampen our spirits. Will definitely return.
-
"This cottage is in a great location, ideal for exploring the local area and nice and peaceful for relaxing after a day out."
-
"Directions to Trevinning Farm are not quite accurate."
The signpost from the B road just says TREVINNING and does not say Trevinning Farm. Otherwise, no further comment.
-
"An excellent place to stay."
Very comfortable and quiet. The cottage is within easy reach of beaches and North Cornwall attractions.
-
"Ideal base for exploring, lots to see and do."
Very welcoming hosts who have anticipated all needs. We would highly recommend this very comfortable holiday home.
-
"We had a delightful holiday."
The only inaccuracy in the details for the property was that fuel and power are included. In fact, only a starter pack of fuel is included. This is quite usual but slightly misleading in this instance. I was surprised that the wifi was unsecured which meant I was unable to use it to contact my office (which was a double edged sword!). The broadband was also slow and subject to interruption. But Trevenning Barn is a lovely spacious, well equipped and beautifully clean house in a delightful location.
-
"There were no problems and we had a wonderful break."
Just one small thing - the directions after leaving the A39 onto the B3266 said the turning for Trevenning was two miles but after going back and forth could not find the turning. We decided to go further on and found the turning which was more like four miles. This is only an observation and not a complaint.
-
"Despite one or two glitches during booking re emails not mentioning the dog booking, and being unable to get onto your holiday portal to check our booking, the holiday itself was wonderful, and the cottage was fantastic."
The owners, Anthony and Kathy, should be congratulated on providing excellent accommodation - nothing was overlooked, and it truly was a home from home experience. Many thanks to them both!
-
"Third time visiting this amazing barn."
The Barn is completely spotless, very homely and you are met with the warmest of welcomes. I would never stay anywhere else in Cornwall now we have found this gem!
-
"We thought it was a delightful cottage which was extremely well furnished and equipped to a very high standard."
The owner was most welcoming and an excellent location for exploring Cornwall.
-
"Lots of space, comfortable - great."
-
"Location was great and property first clas as were the owners."
-
"Superb property in an ideal location to travel around Cornwall extremely well kept by a pleasant owner"
-
"The photos really did not do this place justice!"
We had a fantastic holiday - perfect settings, and super comfortable accommodation. We took our mum's with us - and the downstairs was perfect for them - brilliant twin bedroom was "L" shaped, and almost like having two single rooms, walk in shower, and easy access to the kitchen for their early morning cups of tea (Even had a sofa which was great when we were cooking they kept us company). When we were all upstairs - having another bathroom meant not having to run up and down to the loo, and the living room was awesome! On one night we had family come to visit us (They live locally and it was great to catch up) - but even with 11 of us upstairs the room was spacious and really companionable. The wood burner is not the usual "twig burner" that many holiday lets have to offer - but made the fireplace the real focal point of the room. Outside the paddock was brilliant for tiring out Milton our Labrador, and the front porch / rear scullery were great for wiping muddy paws (yes - of course it rained!) The owners were lovely - though we hardly saw them, and they made us feel really welcome. Only downside - and it was a big one - having to leave this wonderful cottage to come home. See you next year! Dave & Gwenda

"Very nice property well looked after and good quality fixtures and fittings, however it is showing signs of needing a slight refurbishment and lock missing from bathroom door."

The property
Located in the quiet hamlet of Trevenning, not far from the quintessentially Cornish harbour town of Port Isaac, Trevenning Barn offers a rustic, countryside family holiday.
With wide open rural views and extensive grounds to explore, this spacious and detached barn conversion nestles peacefully adjacent to the owners home and another, smaller holiday barn Trevenning Chapel.
From the entrance lobby on the ground floor, guests arrive at the farmhouse-style kitchen/dining area, with French doors which open out onto a south-westerly facing terrace, a lovely feature on a warm summer's day.
A handy utility/laundry room is accessed from the kitchen, and there is also a twin bedroom and shower room on the ground floor.
Upstairs, the roomy lounge is a most convivial space, complete with traditional features such as beams and exposed stone walls.
A cosy wood burning stove is the hub of this room (starter pack only provided) which has been thoughtfully decorated by the owners.
There is a further bedroom on this floor, as well as a family bathroom.
The garden at this property is a fantastic feature - a lovely, large open space (shared with Trevenning Chapel another holiday cottage on the grounds) ideal for family games and picnics.
Guests are also welcome to explore the shared grounds and fields beyond the garden; perfect for walkies with the family pet!
There is much to see and do in the surrounding area, too, with the beautiful north Cornish coast and its picturesque fishing villages close by, as well as some of the best beaches in the county.
Keen cyclists will enjoy the Camel Cycle Trail, a traffic-free trail along the estuary from Wadebridge to Padstow and those who prefer walking will discover mile upon mile of unspoilt countryside at nearby Bodmin Moor.
Ideally located for a simple break away from it all, Trevenning Barn makes a homely retreat whatever the time of year.
Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £200.
Where you’ll be staying
BODMIN
Lostwithiel 6 miles; St. Austell 13 miles; Padstow 16 miles; Newquay 21 miles.
Bodmin, the one-time County Town of Cornwall with its narrow streets, shops and pubs, is perfectly placed for exploring all that this fabulous holiday area has to offer. The outstanding surf, rugged cliffs and hidden coves of the north coast beaches and the quieter sands and river estuaries of the south coast are both 15 miles away while on the edge of town is the fascinating museum and haunting presence of the old Bodmin Jail. The popular Camel Trail for cyclists and walkers also winds its way through the town on its journey to the sea at Padstow. Close by are the open spaces and wind swept grandeur of Bodmin Moor while the incomparable Eden Project (11 miles), Falmouth’s National Maritime Museum (30 miles) and the beautiful harbour town of Padstow with its famous pubs and restaurants (16 miles) make for great days out. Also within easy reach and ideal for a fun-filled day out, guests can visit Lanhydrock House, the small town of Fowey and Charlestown with its Tall Ships, The Eden Project and Lostwithiel. There is a good choice of country pubs and restaurants in the surrounding area.
Note: Dogs are to be kept on a lead when outside of the property and on lawned areas, there is a paddock available for off lead exercise.
