Heating - electric radiators , no heating in gaming room , po power in gaming room cable has to be dragged over the road, roof leaks there as well . Mould in kitchen wall , can’t open windows , blocked toilet , 4 table spoons in total at property . No equipment to play your own music or smart tv, temperamental fridge one day does work next not …half food went to bin . Last day tile from roof went down with rain

Many thanks for your feedback. As you will see from our overall customer feedback, we have many very satisfied guests staying all year round at our cottage. It is therefore a great shame that you feel it necessary to find fault In the accommodation. I will not respond to your comments and criticisms, many of which are unfounded. That would be petty. I trust that in future you will find accommodation which is more suited to your needs. Property Owner

We were blessed with excellent weather , and it was a great base to explore all our favourite places. The cottage was so quaint , we instantly felt relaxed since the location was so peaceful, with just the occasional passing car. The owner lives next door and he was helpful and available when needed. He left lots of useful information on local walks, pubs etc. We definitely hope to return in the future.

Situated in a beautiful part of corneal, beautiful local walks around, you feel like your miles away from the world, yet easy access to local shops such as Morrison or Aldi within 15 mins, 20-30 min drive to the beach and harbour towns, perfect location for me! The cottage was tidy, clean and most importantly the bed was so comfortable! I really enjoy my time and will definitely be back! Mike and sally are lovely accommodating people, who were friendly to speak to and also provided lots of information before arrival and packs in the cottage when you arrive so you can get your bearings. 10/10 for me and exactly what I was after.

  • "The Smithy is a stunning property in beautiful surroundings."

Michael met us and showed us around and told us of the history of the buildings. The Smithy was cleaned to a very high standard and has everything that you could wish for as far as equipment. There is a games room that would put many a pub to shame and there’s bikes and barbecues and a lovely field/garden to relax in. The wood burner was great and made for cozy evenings after a day’s travelling around the stunning countryside and beautiful villages. Looe, Polperro, Fowey and Mevagissey are within easy reach and Bodmin Moor is on the doorstep. The Golitha Falls are a must-see and are within walking distance. Thank you Michael and family, you really thought of everything. Best regards, Bob and Carol

With its lovely oak beams and welcoming log fire, the smithy made for the perfect romantic break for our wedding anniversary. Extremely dog friendly, which is always the most important thing to us as we have an ageing Rough Collie. Mike, the owner, and his family were really nice people, nothing was too much trouble, they were there if you needed them but were totally unobtrusive. We really enjoyed our time at Treverbyn and have recommended the cottage to our family and friends.

Annette, many thanks for very kind comments. So pleased that you enjoyed your stay. Would love to see you and your family/friends again. Property Owner

Central in East Cornwall for easy travel to other places. Mike the owner and his family were very helpful and friendly, you couldn't have asked for anything more. The property and kitchen were well equipped and furnished in keeping with the building but had many modern appliances. Nice large garden opposite the Smithy to sit out in and relax. Highly recommended for a stress free holiday.

Many thanks Paul. Always good to know that people have had a good time. We're lucky to be in a part of Cornwall that doesn't get flooded with tourists and it's nice to know that people appreciate it ! Property Owner

The rooms, although not what I would describe as luxurious, were comfortable and there was a lovely country feel to it. The hosts were very helpful and left a great information pack. We played in the games room a few times, this could do with a tidy up as it was quite dusty and could be a real star feature with little effort. Great location for sightseeing. Mike was very helpful with hints and tips of things to do and places to see. Would highly recommend the circular walk on the door step and a visit to the Cheesewrings on Bodmin Moor. Any trips/activities you will need to book in advance, we couldn’t get onto any fishing/boat trips, but did get a last minute booking for Alpaca trekking which was only a little further than Golitha falls and was the highlight of our break. Only downside (besides the weather), was limited wifi and mobile signal, which wasn’t too surprising given rural location.

The hedgerows in the lanes around the cottage are a must see. They are like vertical wild flower meadows and absolutely stunning . I would however caution visitors to keep children and pets on a very short leash as the lanes are extremely narrow with blind bends and not all vehicles drive sensibly. For rainy days (every day on our holiday!) the games room across the lane was an unusual and very welcome addition to the cottage facilities.

The kitchen was well stocked with all utensils you could possibly need and Mike had got the woodburner prepared for us so all we needed to do was light it on arrival. It was ideally located in that it felt really out of the way but it was easy to access all kinds of walks and the nearby village of St Neot is a delight. Would recommend doing the Two Valleys Walk (as long as you are brave enough to walk through cow fields) and a walk up Rough Tor is not to be missed - it certainly blew the cobwebs off! About the location

ST NEOT

Dobwalls 3 miles; Liskeard 6.5 miles; Bodmin 9 miles.

St Neot is one of Bodmin Moor’s prettiest villages and nestles in the sheltered St Neot river valley on the southern edge of Bodmin Moor in south east Cornwall, enjoying the mild Cornish climate and an outstanding community spirit. The village has a pub, shop and the Door Step Green, a garden created by villagers and a wonderful peaceful place to relax near the church, made famous by its medieval stained glass windows and the Holy Well nearby. Just south of the village are the Carnglaze Caverns, the result of slate quarrying and mining in the 18th and 19th century and now a fabulous tourist attraction open all year round and with three gigantic caverns with stunning subterranean lake in 6.5 acres of woodlands with fairy glen and picnic areas. There are some outstanding and varied walks in the area, including the “Two Valleys Walk” which follows part of the Fowey River, followed by farmland, open moors and forest, and a walk to the spectacular Golitha Falls is also a must. Many archaeological remains have been found on Bodmin Moor and the well known Jamaica Inn and the magic of Dozmary Pool, where King Arthur's sword Excalibur lies, are all within easy reach of St Neot. The north and south Cornish coasts can be reached in half an hour, where practically all forms of watersports and beach activities can be enjoyed. Other places of interest are Siblyback Lake, just 2 miles away and Colliford Lake, 5 miles away. Siblyback Lake is an ideal location for sailing, windsurfing and canoeing or take to Colliford Lake for a relaxing day fishing.
