  • "We had a fabulous stay."

There was 3 adults and a dog who stayed for the week. Richard & Caroline were available if we needed anything. We also met their lovely dogs Colin & Dave. Carnmarth had everything we needed & more. The cream tea on arrival was a lovely treat. Also down to supplying the basic needs of toilet roll & liquid hand soap in the bathroom. Tea towels and beach towels was also an added bonus. Iron & ironing board was also supplied. I think everything was thought out and well supplied. We could of travelled a bit lighter

  • "The accommodation was amazing, very comfortable with high quality finish."

The access to the location is not easy with very narrow steep access and a steep wooden staircase. In addition there was no access to the garden for our two dogs and the patio area is actually a gravel pathway around the back of the property which I located in the owners beautiful but inaccessible back garden! Very disappointed and not an easy relaxing holiday that we had expected after such a long time!

We can not see why Carnmarth failed to meet expectations, there are fantastic lead free walks to the woods and lakes right from the main gate. the gravelled patio area can be used for wees at night. As you can see from the resent photos we have fenced off a section of the garden for you and your doggies to enjoy, fantastic views from the top. • "A truly wonderful holiday cottage with all expectations met."

Richard and Caroline were on hand if required, full of local knowledge and countless recommendations of places of interest to visit. Carnmarth cottage was spotlessly clean, light and airy with stunning views of the gardens and countless variety of birds feeding on many a feeder. The welcome pack was just the ticket as we arrived, enjoying jam, cream and fresh scones....."Colin" a young Newfoundland Poodle was a dream....an absolute buddle of joy when being welcomed by him. A great central location within easy reach of all the usual places to visit and many more new places to discover.. Many thanks to Richard and Caroline for our stay. 10 out of 10. • "This was one of the nicest holiday cottages we have stayed in."

Small but perfectly formed. The double bed has a memory foam mattress which really helped us sleep well. The access isn’t suitable for anyone with poor mobility but that was in the description. The kitchen was beautiful and very well equipped.

About the location

ST DAY

Porthtowan 5 miles; Portreath 6 miles; Truro 7 miles; St Ives 20 miles; Falmouth 10 miles.

St Day was originally named after the little known Saint Day or Dye (better known in Brittany). The village now has a pub and convenience store, as well as a granite, gothic-style church dating back to 1828. Six miles away is the popular village of Portreath which attracts visitors from around the world with its wild and rugged coastline. High cliffs, secluded coves and sandy, surf-washed beaches typify the area while all around are reminders of the area's rich industrial heritage. Portreath offers a small fishing harbour, shops, a number of pubs, three cafés and a Chinese takeaway, while its safe, sheltered sandy beach is a popular attraction. For a great day out, visit the cathedral city of Truro with its cobbled streets, shopping centre, theatre, museum and great restaurants, just 7 miles away, or travel a few miles along the coast to Gwithian and follow the vast expanse of sandy beach, which leads down to Hayle and on to St Ives. A delightful holiday location.
