“The property was perfect for us; a family of 4, 2 grandparents and a dog.”

The view from the balcony was stunning and the property is in excellent condition. The location is also superb (however, see below) close to tintagel, trebarwith strand beach (amazing for bodyboarding) and within 45 - 50 minutes drive of Bude, Padstow (and surrounding area) and St. Austell, meaning we were able to explore the area - going to numerous beaches (around this area - some beaches disappear due to tides - so do your research!). When we had an issue (no teapot and some lights weren't working) the owner resolved this within 24 hours. We had a wonderful week. However, there are a few points to raise to other guests / minor gripes: 1. On inspection of the property, we felt it was not as clean as it should have been considering the additional hygiene expectations currently in place. The floor was dusty and other areas had dust on them as well. 2. The back 'garden' was a bit run down and really needs to be tidied up 3. Cooking facilities - we felt there was a lack of plates, bowls and glasses for 6 people. Also, it lacked certain things (like the previously mentioned teapot) 4. The property is on the B road to Tintagel and was therefore noisy. 5. Be aware - parking is on a steep slope and can be difficult to enter/exit the vehicle 6. Eventhough there is one bathroom, we made it work fine - other groups may find this difficult.

The property

Ideally located for touring the north Cornish coast, this tastefully decorated cottage is set in the small hamlet of Trewarmett, two miles from the wonderful Tintagel.

Enter the house on the first floor; here you will find the three crisp and immaculate bedrooms as well as the sumptuous, family bathroom.

Also on the first floor is the sitting room, benefiting from a heavenly balcony offering elevated views of the picturesque surrounding countryside and the sea in the distance, to be admired whilst enjoying your morning coffee.

Head down the stairs and arrive at the open plan living room, full of character with slate floors, a well-equipped kitchen, two loungers nestled around the feature woodburner and a dining area.

From here you can access the garden with a delightful patio area and a barbecue, ideal for alfresco dining in the summer sun with your loved ones.

A short drive will take you to Tintagel, set high on the coast with dramatic sea views from its iconic castle; it also provides a pleasant range of amenities in charming stone buildings.

About the location

TINTAGEL

Camelford 6 miles; Wadebridge 12 miles.

Tintagel, home of the legendary King Arthur’s Castle, whose ruins dominate the cliffside just outside the village, is a popular but not overcrowded tourist destination. The surrounding area is dominated by the sea, rocky coves and stunning scenery. Several beaches, including nearby Trebarwith Strand and Bossiney Cove, are within easy reach and surfing is the main attraction for those who love the water. Tintagel has several pubs and restaurants and the Old Post Office (National Trust) is a must. For the energetic, the SW Coast Path passes through the village and in both directions it winds its way along the cliffs and down to the water’s edge through dramatic countryside. Head north along the path and in 2.5 miles is the beautiful village of Boscastle with its quaint quay and village pubs for refreshment. Further afield are the surfing meccas of Newquay and Bude, with their resort attractions, while the open spaces of Bodmin Moor, the Eden Project, Padstow and the Camel Estuary are all within a 40-minute drive.
