“Location is great, 25 mins walk to a beautiful beach (make sure to check when the sea is out).”

The house is on a hill top with lovely views. Tintagel is very close for a nice day out, as well as other great locations. Private parking and an additional roadside. The house is set across 3 floors, it's nice to have both the living / diner and a snug downstairs with an electric fire for cold nights, one suggestion would be to put the DVD player downstairs as there are 4 seats. The rooms are comfortable and spacious, blackout or darker curtains may be a good idea to avoid early wake-up ...

The internet connection wasn't great (I completely appreciate a good WIFI connection may be hard to come by in Cornwall) but it did make it hard when trying to book things / planning for the day ahead. The kitchen had everything you could need. Overall a good stay!

The property

Curlews is a spacious, semi-detached house close to the village of Tintagel and ideally based for exploring this majestic stretch of Cornish Coastline.

Couples and families can enjoy the friendly interior and rural views that this North Cornwall abode provides.

Arranged over four floors you will find the practical, well-equipped kitchen and comfortable dining room with warming electric fireplace and sofa on the ground floor.

Open tread stairs lead down to the lower ground floor where there is a relaxing sitting room with French windows to a decked sun terrace.

Also on this lower floor is a shower room perfectly placed for washing sandy bodies after a day on the nearby beach.

Stairs lead up from the ground floor to two bedroom, a double with valley views and a twin.

A bathroom with basin is also on this floor and behind a sliding door a WC.

Further stairs lead up to the second floor and a twin room under the eaves.

Located just over a mile from the stunning sandy surf beach of Trebarwith Strand and the coast path and less than 2 miles from historic Tintagel there is lots to explore close by.

Picturesque coastal villages of Boscastle, Port Isaac and Crackington Haven are all well worth a visit.

Curlews is a wonderful homely base to return to after a day of exploring at any time of year.

About the location

TINTAGEL

Camelford 6 miles; Wadebridge 12 miles.

Tintagel, home of the legendary King Arthur’s Castle, whose ruins dominate the cliffside just outside the village, is a popular but not overcrowded tourist destination. The surrounding area is dominated by the sea, rocky coves and stunning scenery. Several beaches, including nearby Trebarwith Strand and Bossiney Cove, are within easy reach and surfing is the main attraction for those who love the water. Tintagel has several pubs and restaurants and the Old Post Office (National Trust) is a must. For the energetic, the SW Coast Path passes through the village and in both directions it winds its way along the cliffs and down to the water’s edge through dramatic countryside. Head north along the path and in 2.5 miles is the beautiful village of Boscastle with its quaint quay and village pubs for refreshment. Further afield are the surfing meccas of Newquay and Bude, with their resort attractions, while the open spaces of Bodmin Moor, the Eden Project, Padstow and the Camel Estuary are all within a 40-minute drive.
