"We have just returned from a fantastic week staying at Chylowena cottage."
The cottage itself is just lovely, with everything you could need for a relaxed and enjoyable week - a real home from home. The cottage is situated in a great location to explore some of the delights of Cornwall. The walk to the lighthouse and cove nearby is a must.
Ann, the owner, is helpful and friendly, making herself available to you if needed, but also leaving you to it - we felt striking the right balance.
We would thoroughly recommend this property.

"Lovely cottage, very warm and comfortable a requirement for end of Feb."
early March. Log burner is ideal but it needs to be made clear that guests must provide own logs.
I was surprised by the instructions provided for lighting the fire and even more surprised to find they worked perfectly - slight issue with left/right orientation!
Thank you for writing us feedback. We do not state that logs or a starter pack for the fire are provided but are glad that you managed to get it going! - The Owner Relations Team. Property Owner

"Despite the sad reason for our stay, to attend the funeral of our much loved uncle, Chy Lowena couldn’t have been more perfect for our family."
Comfortable and warm with all the facilities we needed. Perfectly located for us to pop into Penzance to see our family and to St Just where we have spent so many happy times, visiting our old haunts and those of our forbears. Fabulous walking, even in the rain and high winds. Added to the drama of our stay! We will highly recommend.

"Lovely cottage."
Good location. Owner Ann very helpful . Plenty to do or visit close by, in fact hardly used the car. Pub in next village superb food as is the commercial in St. Just. A hand rail would be useful alongside the bath and a small welcome pack with tea and milk would have been appreciated, other than that all made for a relaxing holiday.

"Stayed in Chy Lowena for a week in September."
The cottage was exactly as advertised and did not disappoint in any way and looked exactly as the photographs. Beautiful and very comfortable living room with a traditional dining area and nice kitchen. The utility area was great for storing boots and fishing gear. Whilst we only used the main bedroom this was very comfortable and had good storage.
At over 6ft I did have to duck to get through some of the upstairs doors but this should be expected in a traditional cottage.
Location was great and a10 minute walk got us to both on the pubs in the village and a 15-20 minute drive to Penzance.
Loved our stay at the cottage and this is definitely one to return to.

"Lovely cottage, had all we needed and more."
Weather wasn't too kind first week so having a cottage with so many facilities was fab. Only drawback was the beach was a distance from the cottage. But Sennen and Hayle was not far away.

"This cottage is a lovely little bolt hole for anyone wanting some peace and quiet."
The olde worlde charm is quite something, the fireplaces are wonderful and at the opposite end of the spectrum the WiFi was extremely reliable! The cottage had everything that we could have wanted and the trek to the lighthouse and Boat Cove was a lovely afternoon walk. Would certainly recommend this cottage to anyone who enjoys a blast from the past, but with home comforts. The only disappointment was due to the lockdown closures of the nearby tin mines which was on our "wanted" list. Wonderful little corner of the world!

"Excellent cottage - super comfy, cosy and quiet as well as very well appointed."
Netflix was a nice touch, and the owner was very quick to respond to queries and she sent some great recommendations for places to eat in the area. I'd suggest booking tables in advance even in off peak times! Excellent location for exploring this area of Cornwall - Pendeen isn't as touristy as St Ives etc so it definitely felt more 'authentic'. Look up in the garden at night for shooting stars - just magical!
Parking just off the road was VERY handy as most roads are very narrow. Mousehole, St Just, Newlyn all nearby and fab. This was a perfect base for our week in Cornwall and I'd highly recommend staying here.
I was very disappointed Sykes didn't get in touch when the second lockdown was announced to explain the implications for our stay while we were there; they seemed to leave this to the owner to communicate, but luckily for us Ann was very helpful. However it's an odd time and the rest of the booking process was very smooth.

"Chy Lowena is a superbly equipped and ideally located cottage - particularly if you want to walk the far west portion of the South West coastal path."
Comfortable beds, very well equipped kitchen & utility room, gorgeous coastal views from the first floor, lounge has a wood burner which was very pleasant on a couple of cooler evenings.
Highly recommended!

"Beautiful cottage in an excellent location."
Owner was in touch beforehand to see if we had any queries, which was very thoughtful, and was very helpful when I'd left something behind. From the cottage, we could walk to the beach, to the pub or shop or to the mining museum. The cottage was well equipped and attractively furnished. Highly recommended!
