Wonderful stay in the converted barn, the place was cosy warm, spotless and had everything we needed, Having our own personal hot tub freshly filled with clean water was a real treat to lay in at night and enjoy the peace and quiet whilst watching the stars we will def stay again as it was central to all the places we wanted to visit, The bottle of bubbly & pint of milk was a nice surprise too, 100% ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

  • "The cottage is as described, very comfortable and in an ideal location for travelling around south Cornwall."

The host was friendly and helpful. The bottle of fizz and flowers on the table were a nice touch. The only negative on this occasion is we were not aware in advance there would be of a lot of noise from heavy plant on site for building work on the farm where the owner are building their new home. This was particularly intrusive through the first weekend when wanting to use the hot tub and spoilt the peace and quiet for a lot of the time. We would go back but only once their building work is complete.

Holiday let was very well set up, loved the the hot tub and log burner. Extra plus were the Sirloin steaks and sausages that you could order from the owner, absolutely delicious! Also you can get eggs from the farm up the road.

No privacy. The bedroom curtains were closed all the time. Even the front door was glass top to bottom! There is no privacy for the hot tub either, particulary from our neighbours. We have more privacy at home and we live in a city!!

Never felt so comfortable and at home. Cottage was a lot more spacious than we thought from the pictures. Incredibly relaxing, bed really comfortable, spotlessly clean and hot tub was fantastic. Can’t wait to come back!

  • "Arrived to find we were next to a building site and so lorries and cement mixers started around 7."

30am and went on all day until 4.30 every day.. Thick dust was blowing everywhere and so not possible to use outside seating area or hot tub during our whole stay. Sad as it was so sunny and we had to stay inside with windows shut when at the cottage. Also mentioned the fan oven was not working and was told they had a number to ring for repairs. Did not get looked at so luckily we eat out all week.but hoped it was fixed for the next victim.

Many thanks for taking the time to leave your feedback and I am sorry to hear about your experience. We were not aware of the disruption: as soon as we heard about the building work we offered you a full refund and to be relocated. You declined our offer and decided to stay. Unfortunately that week the gods were against us. The wind uncharacteristically turned due south, and picked up to 50mph! This did not help the situation. The oven did work, albeit without the fan. I am afraid we couldn't source the part required in time. the oven has since been replaced. We are committed to ensuring our guests enjoy their stay - I am sorry our efforts didn't help in this case. Gwennal is a lovely character cottage with everything you could wish for, even a washing machine, the dog loved sunbathing on the terrace, whilst we lounged in the hot tub. A lovely touch too from the owners, milk, wine and amazing cream scones just what we needed after our long drive down from Yorkshire.
