Poor condition of approach track, excessively uneven, rutted with rocks and muddy. Of course recent weather poor but surface needs levelling, my car tyres suffered.

Also very lovely welcome pack. Garden was secured enough for our dogs. The only other downside there was a 0.4 mile very bumpy track to cottage, we did notice some of the pot holes were being filled.

A clean, comfortable and perfectly located base for our holiday. The welcome pack on arrival was an unexpected treat and we all enjoyed the scones, delicious butter and clotted cream. It was lovely to see Trevor the peacock every day and to meet Will at the start of the week. I only wish we'd had a little more time to take Will up on the offer of some clay pigeon shooting. I have no hesitation on recommending The Cart House as a first class place to spend your holiday.

  • "We have just returned from our week long stay at The Cart House, and it was amazing."

The accommodation itself was clean and well furnished and had everything needed for a comfortable stay. The owners, Will and Sarah are lovely and were accommodating when we asked for a tour of the farm and Will took the time to explain the farming way of life to us city folk. Although The Cart House is on a working farm, it isn’t noisy. It was nice and quiet at night with just a few noises from Trevor the Peacock, but nothing annoying. We took our 10 month old puppy Watson, and he made friends with the owners dog and he paid us daily visits, which we loved. We will definitely return next year as it is a lovely place with lovely people.

Based down a farm track with no passing traffic. Trevor the Peacock greeted us every morning, but we didn’t hear him from inside the well insulated barn. Private gravel courtyard with plenty of parking. Very cosy in January. Well fitted and spotlessly clean. Our only observation is that a bigger door mat would be better if the weather had been wet. Plenty of room for our small dog crate. Helpful owners. Thoughtful cream tea waiting for us and bread/milk/butter/jam/cream/tea/coffee. Well stocked washing up liquid/dishwasher tablets/washing tablets/toilet rolls/hand soap. Lots of fluffy towels and a large shower, plenty of hot water. Wifi worked well. Everything we needed for a relaxing break. We will definitely book again.

The only very minor addition could be to add a couple of extra mugs to go with the gorgeous scones and clotted cream, and maybe a hand towel in the kitchen. Other than that, everything we love in a holiday let - simple, uncluttered, and wonderfully spacious!

A lovely peaceful setting with comfortable beds in large airy bedrooms, a huge shower with constant hot water and a large comfortable, and well equipped, lounge/diner/kitchen. The outside space was safe and secure for our dog and the owners (Will and Sarah) very kindly allowed us access to a field to let him run off some energy. We arrived to find tea, coffee, milk, bread, butter, scones, jam and cream which was unexpected but delicious after a very long journey. We felt that if we needed anything or required help with anything that nothing would be a problem to Will and Sarah. Would have no hesitation in recommending or staying here again. We have never met Will and Sarah before, but meeting them felt like meeting old friends. They were so welcoming and friendly. The house itself was amazing so spacious which was good for us as two friends came with us and one was in a wheelchair ♿️ so it made life easy for him. We also had our dog Maya with us and Will said she was more than welcome to run around in the field. We also met Trevor the peacock he paid us a visit every day along with a lot of other birds, if your a bird watcher you would love it. It was so peaceful and relaxing we couldn’t ask for a better holiday, so much so my husband and I are booked in to go back next year. The local pub The Crown inn at St Ewe was lovely and the staff and locals very friendly. With an open fire great food, dog friendly, great staff what more could we ask for. Thank you Will and Sarah for an amazing week, we were sorry to leave.

We did not realise that the property had 2 bedrooms. Property is spacious with large rooms, large shower and lots of space to park. Did not realise the owner had a farm shop until we were leaving. There is quite a long track once you come off the road to the property. Name of farm could be more prominent on post as it could easily be missed.

Only comment we would like more walking, pub/restaurant information in the cottage. The items in the welcome pack were from a local farm shop, maybe a leaflet about this shop would have been useful. Would recommend as a quiet stay on a farm, but well located for visits to beaches, harbours, the lost gardens of Heligan, and some lovely coastal walks.

  • "Oh my days, this cottage is a dream and in the best ever location far away from life, so good for mental health it’s unreal!"

Absolutely loved our stay here, the cottage is stunning, modern, spotlessly clean and had everything for us- enough towels, cooking utensils, lovely welcome pack- jam is beautiful and our welcoming from little Trevor every day (peacock) is amazing! We has travelled all over Cornwall for many years and stayed in lots of dire out dated overpriced cottages and this one is the best one we have stayed in. There is plenty of flies around but you are on a farm so if you don’t like flies you might not like- there is a fly trap inside which helps just bring some insect repellent. We had a request for Sykes to contact the owners of this property and ask them a big ask for us, which Sykes contacted the owners to ask them and the owners said yes and we are forever thankful and grateful! They are very reasonable and just wish a lot more owners were like them. Also this house has the best WiFi ever- free WiFi and the fastest WiFi ever and you never lose connection in the house, I have always had the worst WiFi every part of Cornwall. The shower is amazing- normal water pressure you can actually wash your hair. If you are two girls here with thick long hair and have a long shower, you’ll need to press the boost button for the other person to have a hot shower :) The Description of this cottage says the owners live next door, they are behind, you really can’t see their house at all and you feel like your cottage is the only one there out in the middle of nowhere and they leave you be, wouldn’t know they lived there or that you had neighbours. I miss this cottage so much. (Thank you owners for building this beauty and sharing this beautiful unique location)
