“The property was very comfortable, just what we needed.”

We had a few problems with the boiler, but a work-around was soon in place. Will definitely use Sykes and this property again.

The property

Set just outside the centre of the town of St Just is this beautifully renovated farmhouse, an older building brought back to life and offering lovely holiday accommodation for a family or group of six.

Truthwall Farm boasts charming original features interspersed with more contemporary furnishings and appliances, creating a homely and attractive setting for a Cornish break.

Begin your journey coming in through the utility room and step onto the wonderful reclaimed slate floor, offering handy appliances for longer stays like a washing machine and a tumble dryer and leads to a convenient shower room.

Notice the huge range cooker as you come into the kitchen/diner, a classic feature that adds to the country farmhouse feel of the house, with cream units alongside the natural wood beams and panelled walls combining well.

The dining table holds a place for everyone in the party so you can gather around for hearty breakfasts and evening meals, planning and discussing the holiday’s events and those to come.

For relaxing at the end of a busy day you can choose from several spots to wind down, sit down with the little ones in one of the two sitting rooms, the first offering a TV and a selection of games and books to keep them entertained, all beneath an apex ceiling and exposed beams.

For some peace and quiet, settle on one of the large sofas in the other sitting room, where a woodburning stove is set within a huge original stone fireplace, it provides the perfect way to end the day.

When the weather is warm you can always delight in lounging on the decking outside, before taking a dip in the warming bubbles of the hot tub.

Ascend the stairs to the first floor to find your resting spot where a king-size bedroom rests offering lovely décor, thoughtful furnishings and pretty bed linen benefiting from a walk-in wardrobe too.

A light and bright double bedroom is furnished with pieces made from natural wood, giving the room a fresh feel, and finally the bunk room is a perfect spot for the children.

Wake up and revitalise yourself with a refreshing shower in the family bathroom, it offers a bath with a shower over, so you can also look forward to stealing a moment or two away from everyone on your holiday for a relaxing soak.

Visit the town centre of St Just to pick up any essentials or simply treat yourself to a pub lunch at one of the excellent pubs, walk along the nearby South West Coast Path and visit Cape Cornwall for gorgeous views of the Western Approaches, and visit the cliff castle at Kendijack.

Land's End is a must visit, with a wonderful tourist attraction centre you can enjoy ice creams overlooking the ocean, and spend a day at Porthcurno Beach a serene southern spot.

With day trips to Penzance and St Ives within reach too, Truthwall Farm provides a beautiful property to call home while you discover south-east Cornwall.

About the location

Penzance 7.2 miles; St Ives 12.9 miles.

St Just is the nearest town to Land’s End and is situated approximately eight miles west of Penzance. The town itself is an ancient settlement that has a strong mining history and there are several monuments and prehistoric antiquities to visit including the Bronze Age settlement at Cape Cornwall. St Just is ideally located for visitors to explore the far west of Cornwall as it is situated on the edge of the moors and close to the beautiful north coast. In the centre of the town is Plain-an-Gwarry, a theatre used for miracle plays in medieval times, and in more recent times for the Lafrowda Festival.
