  • "Break Away was brilliant, clean tidy and just as described."

Great area if you just want a walk but no end of other things, eg National Trust, Eden Project, just a short drive away. We would recommend Break Away to anyone.

  • "We really enjoyed the location of the cottage."

There were days when we didn’t need to use the car because of the proximity of walks and local amenities. The cottage was extremely clean and the owners very pleasant - a bottle of milk and cake were there on arrival. The combination cooker and small worktop area meant that meals needed a bit more thought if you chose to prepare meals in the cottage. But it was easy once you got used to it. The only thing we missed was a small freezer box for our blue boxes though I’m sure the owners would have obliged if asked. We would happily book again.

  • "There was a clear instruction to contact the owners for details of picking up the keys, two mobile phone numbers were given."

I rang the numbers in the week before going to Cornwall, all my messages went to voicemail but there were no replies. I rang Sykes who also tried to contact the owners but with no luck. On the Friday evening, 12 hours before I was due in Cornwall, the owners finally got in touch to explain about key collection. They apologised and said they had spent the week in an area with no mobile phone signal. That's just not good enough and Sykes need to have a procedure in place with details of key collection as this could well happen again with any property for any number of reasons. I was a the point of wondering if I had a holiday to go to on the Saturday, I had to make a decision if it was worth the long drive to Cornwall. Sykes staff tried their best to resolve the problem and the owners were apologetic but it should never have happened. Having realised there was no mobile phone signal the owners should have contacted Sykes by landline so that Sykes could have rang me to explain the key collection.

  • "This was our second stay with Bill and Mary and every bit as enjoyable as the first time."

This is a fantastic part of the Country and has all that we require within an easy drive. A large Tescos a few miles away or pop in to the local Butcher and General Stores in Tywardreath Village. Opposite them is the New Inn for a lively atmosphere in the bar or a great meal in the dining room. There is something for everyone, couples young and not so young. Try Break Away for a quiet chilled out break but with loads to do on the doorstep. Could go on but we must leave the rest for you to experience. .

The shower was ideal to access from a wheelchair. The handrails were most useful and the shower stool a bonus. Thank you to Bill and Mary for allowing my disability buggy to be charged as needed. A lovely relaxing holiday spent exploring all the little nearby coves, enjoying local pub grub and wandering some beautiful local countryside.
